This Red Lobster has a peculiar smell as you walk in the door. The service was mediocre. It started off great but it sputtered out pretty quickly. The food was decent. My bacon wrapped scallops were great though the appetizer count was only four. I also had a cup of clam chowder that also was good. My fiance had ordered stuffed mushrooms. They were out. She then ordered crab legs. She had roasted potatoes and bacon mac and cheese. The bacon mac and cheese didn't come until the end of the meal. She also ordered an appetizer of mozzarella sticks. We had a terrible experience at Red Lobster today that completely ruined a very special occasion. My family of 10 showed up excited to celebrate my grandma's 90th birthday. She had been looking forward to this dinner for weeks. But when we arrived, we were told that a party of 25 was ahead of us, and because of that, the restaurant wouldn't even seat us or try to accommodate our group. We understand that large parties take time, but to turn away a smaller group--especially for a birthday celebration for a 90-year-old--is incredibly disappointing. There was no offer to split the group, no estimated wait time, nothing. Just a flat-out "no." It's not just about dinner. This meant everything to my grandma. I haven't been here in a long time and was very disappointed to find they no longer serve swordfish. It was one of the only things on the menu I ever ate. I settled for fish and chips this time, but couldn't eat it all due to the overcooked dry fish and the gross, crunchy fries. My family was hard-pressed to get to go here before; now I will only come if I have to for special occasions. The food is just "eh" and the place is just run-down. It's NOT dirty, but it FEELS dingy inside. The staff is ok, our waiter was nice enough, but it is way too expensive for the quality of the food. My mother and I visited this restaurant for lunch. The hostess was very friendly and our waitress was also very friendly and attentive. I noticed they had a daily deal menu and I had the lobster and shrimp with coleslaw and a side salad and all of it was very good and fresh. My mother's meal was also to her liking and fresh. we were very happy with the food and the service on this visit and we felt the price point was good for the amount of food we got and the quality. Like other locations, lots of dining areas with tables and booths to choose from. I ordered the two way shrimp platter which was good-scampi and coconut shrimp. I'm so sorry. This Red Lobster has gone down hill in service. It will be a long time before I return to any Red Lobster. The waitress didn't know the menu. I ordered 3 small plate entree's. I asked that sauce be put on the side. She said, Okay. 1. The plates came drenched in sauce. She said it wouldn't be spicy. It was clearly spicy. I sent it back. 2. Only 2 plates were served. Where was the third? The plates enters came back correct. Still no third. 3. About 20 minutes later, she brings out a huge plate of I don't even know what. I say, "This isn't what I ordered. I don't even know what this is." Oh and we asked for more biscuits and she said, "sure." 4. The chef comes to our table and asked what I ordered. I show him on the menu. He says, "oh." (Still no biscuits). 5. About the time my mom is ready to pay, out comes my order. (Still not right, no pita bread). We ask for 2 checks. She brings one. Now the table next to ours, they asked if it was Diet Coke. She laughed and said, "No. it's not Diet Coke. Hahaha." 6. She finally brings out 2 checks. I wasn't charged for the shrimp. One of the most important thing is the restaurants consistency. I went a month ago. It was the first time in 10 years. I had the fish dinner and it was excellent. No issues. The restaurant is nice and the servers are great. This time it was all bad. We didn't get any offer of cheddar biscuits during the meal. At the end of the meal they brought them, but completely forgot the butter. They were hard on top. The coleslaw was inedible. It did not have near enough or any dressing. We were told that someone else made it that day. The fish looked really big until I flattened the batter which was so crispy it all fell off the fish. It tasted OK but it wasn't like the last time. The server was nice and the price is great. I will try it one more time maybe. This was the Lee Summit location. Otherwise I'll stick with Captain D's. read more

Ate at Red Lobster last night, with my stepfather and my brother. Server had a big, gross beard that was not covered. Definitely not the type of thing that I want hovering over my food as it's being served to me. He was also overly talkative, and apparently thought he was very funny, but really it was just super awkward. Then about 2/3 of the way through our meal, our server came up to our table and announced that he had to leave due to a family emergency, because his daughter had thrown up three times. Frankly when I'm eating, I don't need to know about people throwing up. It's not something I wanna hear when I'm eating at a restaurant. He could have just said he was leaving, and left it at that. Seriously. To add insult to injury, he didn't bring over a replacement server to introduce to our table and ensure that we were OK. So after that, we receive no further drink refills, our empty dishes just sat in front of us, unbussed, No offer of dessert or anything else. We were just abandoned. Finally we flagged down someone who went and found the person who apparently was supposed to be taking care of us. She brought us over our check, but still didn't even bother to bus the empty dishes that were in front of us. Overall, an abysmal experience. We had not been to Red Lobster for about 6 years, but my husband wanted to go. Saturday at 7:00. Let's see if we can get in. The parking lot was empty. That should have told us to leave. The restaurant was about 1/4 full, and we had to wait for someone to great us and seat us. I immediately noticed the sewage smell, but my husband didn't think it was that bad. The server was good. The first issue was no biscuits. We were told they had a new bread person. Then the appetizer was burned, so they had to make a new one. Delay in the meals because the baked potatoes weren't ready. When we got served, my potatoe wasn't cooked, and the salmon was overcooked, dry, and burnt on the bottom. My husband's shrimp was cold. We ordered another drink and all the bartender was doing was talking to other guest .. we waited patiently and finally got the drink and noticed it was not frozen and asked why because that's how it was ordered it was the wrong drink . She claimed that we ordered the wrong drink and then that the server did not tell her that . Then made the CORRECT drink and brought it to us and apologies stating she had read it wrong . We were all about to spend a total of $200 altogether for our food . We sent nearly everything back because of how awful it was including the experience. Overall , DO NOT COME HERE ! Ok so that may be low and the food was ok and the service once seated was ok, but the wait and the attitudes were horrible. We were a large group (15). Tried to call a week ahead for reservation but were told they don't do reservations, call ahead seating only. So we tried to call that day at 11:00 and were told they were full up! How exactly they could be full up for the whole day (we wanted 4:00) if they don't take reservations is a mystery. The people working at the front REALLY didn't care. They had empty tables everywhere and an entire dining room that was empty, but seating was taking 45-60 minutes! They said they didn't have enough staff and a waiter/waitress couldn't handle more than 4 tables!!!! Meanwhile there was another group of 16 that did get a reservation and a large table. When asked about this, the hostess said we'll they called. I said we did and were told we couldn't and she basically just didn't care. Our group ended up at 3 tables in different parts of the restaurant, seated 30-40 minutes apart. Food- seafood stuffed mushrooms used to be wonderful, now they're greasy bready goo on top of random mushrooms thrown in a dish, no "stuffing " going on and very little seafood present. Cheddar biscuits, less butter, less cheese, more salt. They were having Endless Shrimp, but out of the 5-6 options available they were out of 3 (including the fried shrimp, kinda a staple in any seafood restaurant!) My loaded baked potato came out without sour cream and the salads were delivered after the entrees! So sad, as this place had been a staple in my family for decades! I'm bad at cracking crab legs, but I got through, lol. I really enjoyed the lobster tail and of course cheddar lobster mashed potatoes! This particular location always seems to have issues with angry, rude, noisy, and sometimes scary customers. There really should be an option for ZERO stars! I used to be a regular take out customer, and would dine in on special occasions with family since about 1995 when we moved up here from Texas. They have switched out Walts Famous Shrimp with some horrendous tiny little fried shrimp now the size of my thumbnail that aren't worth a tinkers damn. (I kid you not!) The size of the fish filets have been cut MORE than in half, and were shriveled up and CURLED up, and have gone from great tasting whitefish, to some disgusting pollock. The clams crumbled between my thumb and forefinger (what few there were), and it was THE most sorry thing I have EVER laid eyes on. This manager, I think she said her name was Jessica, said that that's how they do it now. I told HER that shes full of it! I also told her that she's doing nothing more than taking advantage of her togo/curbside guests, by ripping US/me off, to make up for her lack of restaurant diners INSIDE. I plan on reporting her to the proper channels for price gouging, et al. I told her that this would be my LAST trip there!
