Cheddars will always be one of my favorite restaurants. The food was definitely the highlight. We ordered the chicken wraps and battered fish, and both were really good. The chicken wraps were flavorful, fresh, and filling without being too heavy, and the fish was cooked just right--crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. You can tell they put effort into making things taste homemade rather than rushed. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed, making it a good spot to sit down and enjoy a meal without feeling hurried. Service was also solid--friendly, attentive, and everything came out in a reasonable time. Overall, this location really delivered on both quality and experience. I went to this Cheddar's for the first time ever (and my first step in a Cheddar's in probably 10 years) recently. Honestly, I did not have high expectations. My experience definitely exceeded the average Yelp rating. The food was solid and we had good service. They were extremely busy, but the bartender/server ordered a round of rolls on the house for the bar area for the long wait. It is a bit loud inside if that's not your thing, and there are TVs that were playing college basketball. I'm often in the area for KC Mavs games and would not hesitate to return. read more

This is a cute place with decent food. They gave us these honey melted butter croissants that were super yummy ! I got the ribs and they weren't the best I've had but they were good. Drinks came next, and they did not play around. My frozen lime margarita was tart, refreshing, and just strong enough to remind me it was happy hour somewhere. My sister and daughter both ordered the Pain Killer--and honestly, that drink could probably fix a bad day. Sweet, tropical, and full of punch. For entrées, my sister and I went bold with the chicken and shrimp Alfredo tossed in New Orleans sauce--spicy, flavorful, but a little on the dry side. Luckily, extra sauce saved the day. My daughter went with the classic chicken Alfredo, which was creamy comfort in a bowl once we asked for that extra sauce too. The vibe inside Cheddar's was warm and family-friendly, though I'll admit the booths could use just a little more wiggle room. But what they lacked in space, our server Emily made up for in service. She was kind, attentive, and knew her menu--her suggestions were spot on. Dessert sealed the deal: a sizzling hot apple pie topped with ice cream for me (yes, it was as heavenly as it sounds) and a tall slice of carrot cake for my daughter. We used to like Cheddar's. Don't come often as they are so busy. We went for a late lunch today and my wife got a hamburger and said it was good. This time all the problems were on my side of the table... The waitress rolled her eyes at me when I asked her to repeat the flavored tea choices. I got a chicken tender and ribs plate. The cole slaw was ok but nothing special. The glazed carrots were cold. The tenders were good and the honey mustard do was ok but I wish they'd offer ranch or something as a choice. The ribs were overcooked, over charred. And dry. Sauce might have helped. The sauce on them was a little spicy... She but I'm a good way. They were barely warm .. I didn't think my plate was even under a heat lamp. My wife got a refill on her soft drink. I got no interaction. And then the waitress disappeared. I used the on table device to call for server help. Lots of people walked by and we were ignored. I wanted to order carrot cake to go.... Finally cancelled the request and paid the bill with the lowest tip I've given in years. Omgggggg! I cannot recommend this spot enough! Cheddars isn't everywhere so whenever I'm in the mood to go out to eat, but keep it casual, this is the perfect place I recommend. The prices are affordable and there's plenty of options for all taste buds. I went out on a weekend date with my mom and we always get the queso dip with ground beef added (which the ground beef is free). I get the sirloin steak every time we come here and it never fails. It's always cooked perfectly and the garlic butter they put on top is phenomenal. However, I decided to try a menu item that was new to me from Cheddars because why not !? I ordered the chicken pot pie. I don't know about you, but I prefer equal parts chicken and vegetables, but this one seemed to be a ton of chicken and maybe a few spoons of veggies. Maybe have more crust would have made it better but I don't think so. I felt like I left half a chicken behind as I ran out of vegetables. Something good to know is that these are prepared in house and not already prepared (frozen). I won't order this particular item again but will definitely return to Cheddar's again. Took my son for his birthday dinner on Jan 5. Hadn't visited this location for several years due to issues with service and food. We'll, service was good last night but that was all that was good. Shrinkflation is a real thing here. The popular broccoli cheese casserole side came in a ramekin no larger than of a cup. The Caesar salad was made with ICEBURG lettuce. The pasta dish with shrimp and Italian sausage had tails on the shrimp and POLSKA KIELBASA, not Italian sausage. The grilled shrimp was the only dish that was even warm. The very small baked potato was so cold butter didn't begin to melt on it and "loaded baked potato" ​is a foreign concept. He'll, even the little credit card reader on the table couldn't print out complete receipt. So, yeah, its no better than it was 10 years ago. $90 for an unpleasant birthday dinner.​ read more

I don't even know where to start on this review. Our first experience with this place started 10 or so years ago when they first opened. It was brand new, and we were excited to try it out. Unfortunately, our entire experience was horrid. The food, the service, the ambiance... ALL WERE POOR at best. So, as a result, we NEVER WENT BACK. (That is, until 3 months ago). Over the past 10 years after opening, we'd drive by and see all sorts of cars in their parking lot on the weekends. And we just couldn't believe that they did that kind of business when it was so bad!!! So, 3 months ago, we decided to go back and try them once more. Well, we were glad we did. That second visit, 10 years later, was excellent. I had the meatloaf dinner, and my husband had the double chicken fried chicken dinner with carrots. Everything was extremely good! The food was delicious and fresh, the service was spectacular, and the prices were adorable and fair. We were impressed. So, since we were in the middle of a kitchen remodel, we started frequenting this establishment. I continued ordering the meatloaf, and my husband continued to order the chicken fried chicken dinner. We developed a favorite server who remembered our standard order and preferences. AJ, an excellent server, was very efficient and helpful. Actually, every server we've had there was extremely friendly, fast, and efficient. So we continued to dine there several times a week, and then some. One evening, we decided that instead of eating out, we'd call in an order to-go. We always order extra gravy for the meatloaf. I have a smaller throat and need foods that are moist and easy to eat. So I explained we needed extra, and we didn't have any issue paying for the extra side of gravy. When my husband got back with the food, the order not only didn't have extra gravy with it, but it didn't have ANY GRAVY on it anywhere! No kidding. So I called to speak to the manager who simply stated that she'd have a talk with the kitchen and hung up. WHAT‽‽‽ That was rather concerning as I'd explained calmly, and kindly about the issues and why It it was even an issue. But she didn't care or offer any remakes, etc. So, I just decided to ignore her cavalier attitude and move on. We continued to eat there. Well, tonight, we were on the way home from the hospital where we spent the afternoon. I didn't feel like cooking or eating out. So I decided to call in an order for carry out and made certain to explain our last experience regarding the gravy issue and reiterated the need for it, and even why it was so important. Again, I offered to pay for it... ALL THAT, plus my husband went in to pick it up and explained the same things to the person sacking it. Well, when we got home, not only was the order wrong, but there wasn't any extra gravy included. PLUS, the standard fresh and tender croissants they include in every order were completely UNEDIBLE! They were HARD as a rock and smashed or something. I called again to talk to the manager and was on hold forever, and the manager NEVER CAME TO THE PHONE to assist us. I JUST HUNG UP THE PHONE AND GAVE UP! I'm not sure we'll ever go back. The manager there seems totally cavalier and uncaring. I mean, it's only a bunch of gravy for heaven's sake! And what's wrong with just selling us the extra sides‽ We LOVE the cooks, who are very good at what they do. We LOVE the servers, who also do a stellar job!... it's totally obvious they all know what they are doing. But really??? I just don't know where the breakdown happens. read more

After waiting over an hour, we were served dishes that were not only unappetizing but quite frankly, disgusting. We showed up Friday afternoon with a party of 12. We had an extremely nice and well trained waitress. She was the only one wearing Chiefs for red Friday! Everyone at the table had a nice meal and was served proper and with respect. As we left we noticed our waitress outside crying. We asked her what was going on and she told us she had just got fired! As well as she did for us we all were very shocked! She was almost perfect, very nice, professional and treated us with respect. She told us the lies and story behind her being fired, how her manager was yelling and very condescending to her . We even heard them in the back but I just thought they were yelling at someone, and didn't realize what was going on . Not one of our party will EVER return to this disgraceful place. The manager was in the wrong raising their voice so customers could hear. The entire atmosphere had changed and was very toxic in the store. What a HORRIBLE MANAGER THIS PLACE HAS. The waiter (Spencer) was extremely polite and in my opinion was doing his best, but may have been overworked. As far as the meal, the flavor was sub par and one of my friends mentioned that their steak was overly seasoned. The taste was at best barley average, and from the picture it is obvious no care was taken in preparing this meal. I will say the restaurant was very clean and tables dishes were cleared very fast. Both were cooked well and tasted very good. Of course, your server will bring out those iced croissants ahead of time to hold you over for dinner, but there are some nice appetizers to pick from too. Went last night for a birthday dinner, 11 people, all adults. Met there 4:50. I had called the week before for a reservation since it was a party of 11 on a Saturday. Was told they didn't take reservations but that I should call 30 min ahead of arrival and they would have a table set up for us. Called at 4:30. Was told that they didn't take reservations. I explained I knew that but I had been told that if I called 30 min ahead we could be seated. The young woman I spoke to said well.... It would probably be a 45 min wait. I asked do you mean 45 min from now (4:30) or when we get there. Some humming and hawing and well maybe when we get there because they are on a first come basis. They don't take reservations. Duh! I know, that's why I'm calling 30 min ahead. We get there 10 til 5:00. Told them I'd called in. Didn't have anything written down. Said ok. There's a wait. We ended up waiting over an hour& 15 min to be seated. Asked numerous times about how much longer. Was told they were waiting for a big party to leave. Some in our party were getting a little irritated. Now.... Once we were seated, in a bit of a tight area, it was great from that point on. The waitress was excellent (she was tipped well). The food came out fairly quickly and was hot and all orders were right. Drink glasses refilled, checked on us several times during meal. I will go back again as food, services & prices are good. But someone needs to get their stories straight and not tell people on the phone to call ahead to be put on wait list when there obviously isn't one.
