Food was meh, and cold. For some reason all the guests were crammed into one third of the dining area with families crunched into small tables while roomier seating sat unused in the other areas. Worse, our server just can't seem to do her job - but that's because she spends several minutes at a time in the back room and very little time actually serving tables like the other servers. We needed butter for our bread, we needed water that went infilled, we waited long stretches to order, to get our food, and to get our bill while other groups came, were seated, served and left from tables with other servers. Between getting our food and our check we were never visited though we had several requests, if only someone had checked. Meanwhile the manger surveyed the room from the far side of the restaurant, helping no one. We came to this cracker barrel on a monday night around 5:30 ish and it was empty! I remember going to cracker barrel's growing up and it was always packed. Maybe it is not as popular as it used to be? We decided to order the chicken dippers that comes with 3 sauces. The ranch was super tasty but was not a fan of the nashville hot. The food is really nothing special. The mac and cheese was okay, the biscuits were dry, and the chicken was fine. There's really not much flavor on anything. I will say, I think the prices are reasonable! It was $13 for 6 chicken tenders, fries, mac n cheese, and a biscuit, with 3 sauces. So definitely an affordable price but still not great. My favorite part about this place is the little triangle game at the table and the service. The server was so so sweet and friendly to us! Breakfast last Saturday (December 27, 2025) was my first experience at a Cracker Barrel since maybe 25 or 30 years ago for lunch. I've rarely encountered a breakfast menu almost completely devoid of healthy choices but Cracker Barrel is the go-to place if all you want is artery clogging greasy food that could lead to a heart attack. I did try to order something at least somewhat healthy but that didn't work out well ... coffee, orange juice, three scrambled eggs (not on the menu) and whole wheat toast. Instead of three scrambled eggs I received what looked like less than half that. I expected normal simple slices of ungarnished whole wheat toast but what I got were two odd oval slices of maybe whole wheat toast absolutely dripping with butter or oil. When I asked for Cholula Hot Sauce, an unopened bottle was brought to the table. If I hadn't had my Swiss Army knife with me I would not have been able to tear away the plastic film that held the cap to the bottle. At least my two dining companions seemed satisfied with the greasy slop they ordered which isn't surprising knowing the health issues they're dealing with. The highlight of the meal was that coffee refills kept coming without asking. Something has to be horribly wrong with America for a restaurant like this to survive and draw customers. I ordered carryout from this location at 4:30 on a Wednesday afternoon, and while the food was ready when I got there, it left much to be desired. I was trying to watch calories, so I ordered the grilled chicken tenders, which came with two sides and two corn muffins. The tenders were scanty and sparse, a far cry from the online picture. While they were not dry, they were completely bland and tasteless. The steam from the meal had condensed inside the carryout container, so they were sitting in a couple of teaspoons of water, which didn't help. I ordered the vegetable soup as my first side, which tasted like reddish water with a small amount of finely chopped veggies in the bottom. Completely unappetizing. It didn't come with crackers. My second side was the fried okra, which wasn't too bad, but my corn muffins were nothing to write home about. I also received a free order of hash brown casserole tots. While they were plentiful, they were also completely bland and tasteless. They also looked nothing like the online picture. The ranch dressing they came with helped a little, but after eating a few I set the others aside. I should also mention that when I got home with my meal everything was room temperature, which I'm sure didn't add to the flavor profile. I've ordered from this Cracker Barrel before, and the food was much better. Perhaps it was my choice of a lower calorie entree and side that made everything so bland. But the hash brown tots weren't low calorie, and they were also bland. When I finished my meal I felt so starved of flavor that I wanted to eat anything sweet to cleanse my palate. My husband and I ordered a two-fer meal with a shareable onion petals. The onion petals were delicious. Our food came out. Husband had a Barrel burger and fries I got the meatloaf. It was a generous portion of meatloaf, however, it was not thoroughly cooked. Pink meat pretty much throughout. I caught the attention of another server to take my plate and just replace it with a burger and fries plate. Eventually a completely different server brought a burger only, no fries, to our table. I told him there was supposed to be fries. I lifted a cold untoasted bun off the meat. Our server came to the table and didn't know any of the switch-oh change-oh undercooked meatloaf that had gone on. I asked if the buns are typically toasted, she was unsure but she could have it toasted. She said there were only a couple of teenagers cooking. I should have given up and just had my meal removed from the bill. There was no manager checking tables. I ate a quarter of the burger as the unseasoned patty was now cold. We went to check out and that was all jammed up by two disgruntled cashiers needing a manager for other issues that were jacked up. I arrived at the Lee's Summit road Cracker Barrel and as always a very clean environment. I walked to the host/ hostess station and was seated immediately. Our waitress, Destiny, was a cheerful young lady and was very polite. I ordered the chicken pot pie and my friend ordered chicken tenders. While waiting we notice our silverware was dirty. Destiny was quick to apologize and got us new silverware. My pot pie has a wonderful flavor, but is extremely thin so as far as a hardy meal this was not. My friend told me her meal was wonderful. Why do I try to give new Cracker Barrel's a chance and not just stick with the locations I know are awesome?!?!? Especially on that stretch between Colorado and Illinois?!?! I wanted to give this location a chance since I had never been here. I went online and placed the order for the family. It was a large order. I even called after placing the order to ensure there were no questions. When I pulled up, well it was busy with lots of people outside- not surprising because it was a Sunday, and I know this is such a busy time for any CB. I went inside and was greeted by 2 male managers who were helping guests with any questions and getting seated when their names were called. They were very nice. They showed me where to go pick up my food. I walked to the order pickup and saw the multiple bags with our last name on it. This older woman with white hair pulled up in a top bun rushed over and put herself between myself and the bags of food stating that she needed to check me out. I was fine with that and pointed out the bags with my names stating I was here for pickup. She went to the register and asked my last name all formally even though I had already told her my name. Then she said, "you have to click accept." I kept looking at the keypad where you swipe cards and saw nothing. She said impatiently that I needed to do this on my phone. I explained my phone was in the car, but I had my ID. I tried to show her my ID and she kept saying "you have to click accept on your phone before you get the order." So....I ran out to my car to get my phone. There was nothing on my phone- no text or email- to hit "accept." I walk back into CB- there was a young gentleman trying to get his pickup order as well and was hearing the same spiel about clicking "accept." So, we are both standing there telling this very rude CB employee with a very sour look on her face that neither of us have any alerts on our phones to hit "accept." I told her I did not have the CB app and that I should not have to have that, and I will show her my ID. She very rudely told me that she was helping the gentleman, and she would help me next. I told her that we were traveling from IL to CO and the family just wanted to get their food and get back on the road. She did not say a word and kept ignoring me even when I had my ID pulled out showing her my name. The man left to get his gf and her cell phone thinking the "accept" click button would be on the gf's phone. The lady then walked over and handed me the bags, did not say a word, and did not look at my ID. I again asked where the "accept" button was- text or email. She then said, "I thought you were Door Dash." I asked "What made you think I was Door Dash?! I showed you my ID several times." She said in a VERY snarky tone "Sorry," shoved the bags at me. and turned away. I was aghast. As I was walking out and the gentleman and his gf were walking back in, I could hear them saying they don't see a button to click "accept." I told them she probably thinks they are Door Dash as well and explained what happened to me. So, after all that, we get back on the road and 30 minutes into the drive realize they completely left out our 2-add-on meatloaf and mac-n-cheese meals. So... needless to say we will not be returning to this location ever. This was beyond disappointing, there was EXTREMELY unprofessional behavior by that female employee, we did not get what we paid for, and what we did get was very sloppily put together- the containers were leaking into the bags....it was a mess! Our server was great and her customer service was on point however when I went to pay the bill we accidentally forgot to give the cashier a gift card and the cashier gave me a look that I had made a big mistake. It comes with a breast, thigh, leg, and wing with two sides for only $13.69!? That I feel is a great deal. Also it was perfectly seasoned and crispy and served with the honey it was perfect. The same people discriminated against us and then they gave us the dirtiest table they had that day, neither the manager nor the waiters paid attention to what I said. My son, my wife and I were discriminated against. I saw how they discriminate against us more for being Latino and not white and that hurt me a lot since my son saw all that and a 5-year-old child with an autistic disability does not have to go through that since they are very sensitive. Came for brunch and our waitress Sheryl was great! She was good with the kids and patient with our needs with small children. She was very friendly and our food was out fast and hot. Just like I like it! She didn't make it feel like we were in a restaurant it felt like we were at grandmas house! Thank you for making us feel like we were at her personal home! We ordered separately, were served separately. One half of the table had to ask a second time for the coffee they ordered. The food came out at two different times. My family have been going to Cracker Barrel for decades and have frequented different locations all over the US. To be disappointed would be a colossal understatement. When we ordered we were told they were out of many things on the menu. Then after we placed our order, another server decided to grab the sugar caddies and salt & pepper from our table while we were still sitting there. She never said a word. She simply reached over us very rudely and grabbed what she was needing. 45 minutes later our food arrives and all five entrees were ice cold. We mentioned this to our server and she just said the kitchen is full of kids that don't know what they are doing. When others at our table bit into their fried chicken, it was black inside. We pointed all of this out to our server and she immediately got the manager. After explaining all of the calamities,the manager rolled her eyes and said she would discount one of the two inedible fried chicken meals. I said no that is preposterous. Prompt service & they keep my coffee cup filled & warm. They hold their hash brown side in higher regards then I do. I wanted what I termed as "A fantastic dessert." This lead me, once again, to Cracker Barrel. Still without carrot cake on the menu, but I ordered apple dumplings. They were, I can honestly describe them as, divine. They are presented the size of a small dinner plate, with 2 dollops of ice cream on top. There are halves of pecans in the apples, which are large, sliced, and baked in a caramel apple sauce. The crust is dumplings, and oh so good. The special dessert, wasn't quite as good, pumpkin custard. Sure am glad I ordered the apple dumplings. I also bought an order of apple dumplings home to my family. It was gads larger than the apple dumpling order I received at the table...note to self, order apple dumplings to go. You pay at the counter in the gift shop, and the handling of the to go items is a little odd. You order it at your table, and then pick it up at the front desk, who has to call it up to the counter. They put the ice cream on the side....so, all sounds yummy, but still no carrot cake on the menu. I intend to have these apple dumplings often. read more

With restaurants shut down with Covid 19, we tried CRACKER BARREL curbside pickup for a quarantine treat. We ordered a Saturday brunch. The ordering and paying was easy online. When we pulled in to pick up our food, the instructions to call for the delivery to our car were clearly posted. Delivery was quick and efficient. Our food was warm and delicious. Servings were generous and plenty of napkins and prepackaged utensils were included. Stellar! I think I'm addicted to Cracker Barrel. I order them through DD. They have generous portions and the fixings are a great bonus. I really recommend their Sunday Chicken with macaroni and cheese. Their breakfast is okay; my favorite is the Hashbrown Casserole. They also have really good Chocolate Cola Cake!
