Used to be one of my favorite spots. Ate there at least twice a week. Have been trying to call around breakfast time every Saturday and Sunday for over 3 months. All the website says is they are open; but no one ever answers the phone, the phone being valid because a machine picks up. Does no one work here anymore....? Is this store no longer open.....? They have missed hundred and hundreds of dollars of business from me... and if I never hear anything back from this; I'll probably never go there again because I don't even feel like they even want any customers at this point..... We had a great experience here. While waiting for a table, we watched the staff work so hard to meet the demands of every customer. Kayla was so amazing to watch. She greeted us and then gave her attention to an elderly man. He apparrently was a regular and had been waiting for a table. When a spot opened up on the counter, he quickly walked over & asked to sit down (it hadn't been cleaned yet). She was so patient & happy to serve him. It amazed me that after being closed for so long, the staff remembered his order & quickly attended to him. Kayla took a second table and was just as kind & serving. The ENTIRE crew worked well together & met the needs of every customer. They all were a team and a great example of how to give customer service. The food was great & got to our table quickly. We were visiting from out of town & had to leave quickly. I let our server know amd he was able to check me out quickly. I will definitely stop by in the future. read more

Screw it!! I don't care if the entire staff is made of what look like recovering or currently using drug addicts, I don't care if the main ingredients to most of their food is butter and grease. I don't care...I just don't. The help is funny, the waffle house paper hats I wear with pride while eating, and I never had a double cheese burger I could put sausage gravy on. Yup...I had a double cheeseburger with bacon, jalepenos, and sausage gravy on it...and damn it...it was friggin great. I love waffle houses because they all have a weird kinda vibe to them that puts a twinkle in a guy like me's eyes. I don't have a waffle house in Omaha so when I head down south, the punk rocker that likes a good late night dive to get cheap eats gets all giddy and dances a lil jig of happy. Of course the food is not 5 star...its not spose to be. That's not Waffle house!!! Its spose to look seedy, its spose to be filled with funny people, its spose to be greasy and god bless it !!! They are getting a 1 for the horrible service or lack thereof. I love Waffle House. The crew at this one was terrible. I sat for 25 minutes waiting for a drink while the waitress drank in front of me commenting about how thirsty she was. I said so am I. She walked away. My ordered arrived. It was wrong. She said. I came here against my better judgment, but I was hungry and the place I wanted to eat at was not open plus I had an appointment nearby. Every waffle house that I have been to is the same. Their tables are always dirty with left over food from the previous customer. The coffee taste like it's from a couple of days ago and it's sticky all over the place. I will say that the eggs and hashbrowns were good, but the country ham smelled like wet dog. I couldn't eat it after the first bite. I know people like it because it is cheap and it seems to attract homeless people. It has a 60s diner theme, but c'mon man... Let's updated. I guarantee you would attract more people this way. Headed over here with a friend and our toddlers after they worked up an appetite in the Rainbow Play Systems showroom. We both ordered the All-Star Special (blueberry waffle, 2 eggs, sausage, cinnamon raisin toast and hash browns) to share with our kids. The waffle arrived first, then a plate with the eggs, hash browns and toast, and finally the sausage patties. It was the perfect amount to share with my son. He actually devoured 3/4 of the waffle, half the eggs, a slice of toast and a most of a sausage patty. I was okay with him leaving me most of the hash browns. I was happy that he was happy and that we both dined out for $10! The staff was all friendly and accommodating. The grill cook even came over to make sure everything was okay. It didn't hurt that we were the only diners in there, but I've been many places in that situation where the staff just doesn't care. I love Waffle House. I can't hide it. Yet, I've never been to this one despite living somewhat close for years. But I've finally made it. The place itself is clean - Waffle Houses tend to vary, but this was one of the cleaner ones I have seen. Service was, as usual, quite good. Being in the neighborhood I decided to check it out. It was the middle of the afternoon so it wasn't busy. I went for a very late breakfast and ordered eggs over easy, grits, whole wheat toast and a side of sausage. The food is OK. Not fabulous, but OK. The grits were kind of lukewarm, but the eggs were properly cooked. The toast is Wonder Bread style whole wheat. The sausage patties are actually pretty tasty, but a bit overpriced. The coffee was also good, better than I expected. The two girls working during this slow period were sweet and service was OK. I probably won't give up 119th St. Diner as my "go-to" all-day breakfast spot, but Waffle House was OK and if I get a late night craving for breakfast it's good to know it's open 24 hours. read more

We came into this Waffle House with expectations of every other Waffle House. But, we were in for a treat. I regret not getting our server or cooks name but the two of them together were great. They kept us laughing throughout our meal and were very attentive our glasses were never empty and the cook even made sure our meal was good to taste. We passed up the Waffle House on 75th because it was too busy but are not disappointed for driving to Olathe. I have long heard friends rave about Waffle House but never knew why. Now I understand! I'm giving this restaurant a solid three stars. The food is not gourmet, but it is straight up honest and tasty. Also a good value. Plus the employees here at the Olathe location are friendly, patient, and dedicated to their work. I always appreciate that in a restaurant. Regarding the food--the hash browns are hands down the best I have ever eaten. Plus you can customize how you want them, I asked for mine to be "covered and peppered" (cheese and jalapeño peppers). The waffles are seriously delicious. Not overly fluffy, a pleasant malty flavor. I ate the whole thing. The white bread is Wonder Bread, which I actually found charming. Good homestyle cooking, with a southern flair. If you are looking for a fast breakfast or burger/sandwich, that is made hot to order, reliably tasty, and served with a smile, try the Waffle House! You won't be disappointed. read more

What a rotten place to eat. The shades were so dark I couldn't tell if they were open. When I went in there was only one person in the place, and she was sitting at the far side of the dining area. I said, "are they open". She said yes, and explained to me how hot the sun is, she was sitting down because it was hot, and that is why the shades are so dark. I sat down and she wanted a minute. I told her no rush. Turns out I was wrong. She wanted my drink order and really would like food order right now..... She stood by the end of the table almost pacing to get the order. I asked three times about the Steak and Eggs. I wanted to be sure it was the T-bone steak and eggs, the menu doesn't specify, and you can't tell from the picture. When I ordered it I made another comment after telling her I wanted the T-bone steak and eggs just to be sure we were communicating. She then put the check on the table so I could "take care of it". She was really anxious to go sit back down... The only time I saw her was when she dropped off the food and brought me my change. I had to catch the cooks eye to get more to drink. When my food arrived it was a sirloin steak. All I said was, "that's an odd looking T-bone", and she started tellling me how that is the only thing that comes with eggs. She kept going on about how it was my mistake because that is the only steak you can get with eggs. Finally I said I'd really rather eat and not argue with you, but I would like a customer service number. She told me I could have the number to the store, but Waffle House doesn't have customer service.... boy was she right, at least at the Olathe location... The poor girl that was cooking is was trying to cook, and she was having to fill drinks and make apologies for Danielle's bad service. Took a dealer trade car up there from Wichita-Have no idea why there aren't any Waffle House in Wichita-get so tired of Jimmys Diner well thats another review-anyway had hash browns perfectly cooked eggs over medium and raisin toast -loved every bite-I should have told the cook to burn my toast thats the way I like it-waitress was nice a bit slow on the coffee and the restroom smelled a little funky and was out of hand soap BUT thats okay its a great place to hang out and people watch. Oh my... I wanted a booth but was by myself and don't want to take up additional seating. ALL of the tables and bar seating were dirty, nothing clean anywhere, so I sat at the bar. After 10 minutes I was noticed and told she would be right there. I had no menu as of yet and they were under the dirty dishes of the adjoining bar seat next to me. When asked what I would be having I looked around for another menu and at her to see if she would be getting me one. Instead she told me in a panic that she would be wiping the area down soon. This, along with watching another employee scoot runaway chips or some waffle topping along the counter, into her hand, and back on the plate, the waffle station being completely trashed with over spilled batter, and the General filth everywhere I looked, I walked out. I realize Waffle House is low budget, not nice dining, but every experience as of late, I'm done, I expect to be seeing them disappear moving forward. Always seemed like ex cons, homeless people, and people that just can't get a job anywhere else worked there, and always for a very short duration. I love Waffle House and have never has a bad experience at this one until today. I went there around 10 am and besides me there was one other table occupied. Was ignored for about 10 minutes and when I was getting ready to leave, my waitress came out from the back laughing. She came over to me, took my order and went and got my coffee. She brought my food out, set it down and I never saw her again. I had to ask someone to get my ticket so I could pay. She never checked on me, didn't clear any dishes away, didn't fill my coffee, nothing. Was too busy laughing and kept going in the back. Needless to say, she didn't get a tip. read more
