I ordered via a meal delivery service while traveling on business. I was craving some cooked greens and saw they had them on the menu along with fish (grilled). So I ordered. The grilled catfish and pinto beans were delicious and the corn muffins were good too (not Jiffy Mix corn muffins either). The greens appeared good but they just didn't hit my tummy and palate like I was hoping. I'd eat here again but won't get the greens. The salad was good too and so was the fruit. read more

My Grandson and I ate breakfast here 8/2/2026. Our meal was lukewarm at best. I returned mine for that reason. They brought back a "remade" plate. Nothing changed, still lukewarm at best. Now I will say the biscuits were hot and so was the coffee. My opinion is that Cracker Barrel has lost their pizzazz. It used to be my favorite. Not sure I'll even go back. read more

The food is solidly good, although not GREAT, in my opinion. The big issue I have is that every time I come in, even when it's not at all busy and I see multiple servers doing side work, it seems to take forever for someone to come to the table to take even a drink order. The food does come out fast for me, which is a plus, but it's still quite frustrating to be surrounded by staff and not helped. read more

On our way into Kansas City, we made our annual Thanksgiving order through the app for the Olathe location and the hubby and I picked up our dinner before heading to the lighting of country club plaza. We both ended up getting country vegetable plates, because the preset Thanksgiving dinner did not have the option to swap out the potatoes. So my plate consisted of cornbread stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes with turkey gravy, and fried apples and rolls. My husband got the vegetable plate with hashbrown casserole, fried apples, Mac n cheese, cornbread stuffing. It made for a nice Thanksgiving dinner picnic, while we waited for the lights to come on. Now if cracker barrel would allow a potato swap out of the Thanksgiving plate, it would be great. Not everyone is a sweet potato fan. read more

We just left Cracker Barrel. 5:20 pm Friday, June 19, 2026. Young man who seated us was not friendly. We never saw a waiter or waitress for at least 10 minutes. A party of 3 was seated after us near us. They got drink orders within a few minutes I found a manager who said she would find our waitress. We waited. Nobody showed up. The manager could have taken our order for drinks. Nope. We have never had service like this before. We just got up and left. Do better manager. read more

My parents, family, and I stopped here since it was close to our hotel for dinner. We were seated immediately, and our server was very accommodating. We received our drinks and placed our order in a matter of minutes. We received our sides fairly quickly, but we did have to wait a few extra minutes for the main entrées. Everything tasted great, overall but our server seems to be fairly busy so she wasn't as attentive as we liked. She was still very friendly and took care of us. I love their early dinner (light menu) that's discounted. $12 for grilled steak bites with two sides is a great price these days. read more

Cracker Barrel has been around since 1968. It is usually a restaurant one eats at when traveling, since they are located near highway exits, as I have in the past. This is not a place I would normally go out of my way to patronize, but on this occasion it was breakfast on my birthday and I thought, why not pick a place that has been around since I was a Freshman in High School. Walking into this location was like walking into an old familiar place as all Cracker Barrels are built and decorated the same. Unlike some restaurant chains that change designs over the years, Cracker Barrel decided to stay with the themed design that makes one feel at home. The food while not outstanding, it is good and the servers are friendly and efficient. This location is close, but I will probably not return soon except to buy one of the items I noted in the store before eating, as there is another of my favorite places for breakfast between my home and here. read more

What a waste of our evening! Restaurant wasn't very busy, but it took our waiter over thirty minutes just to serve us our drinks. Then after another hour we finally get our food, and it was cold! We ordered an additional burger to take home to our son. Even though we ordered the burger when we ordered our meal, we still had to wait for them to make it. After waiting fifteen more minutes we decided to just leave and grab something elsewhere. The only reason why they are getting two stars instead of one, is because they did comp one of our uneaten dinners, which we ended up just leaving on the table. read more

It is 7:30 pm on Saturday (6/13). My husband and I have been waiting TEN MINUTES to place a To-Go Order while THREE high-school-age kids are hanging out at the Host Stand. They're laughing and having a fun time telling us "still waiting for a server to take your order." Hey, Cracker Barrel, deputize ALL your employees to take an order! I worked at a 5-Star international hotel chain in Florida and we were told "Nothing here is NOT your job." I worked concierge, but still picked up trash in the lobby or took towels to guest rooms if that was what was needed. The Customer is King. I had a Master's Degree and treated every guest like a Prince...we even had the Prince of Monaco stay at our hotel along with Rock Star Royalty like Heart and Pat Benatar, but I gave them the same level of service that I gave the Jenkins family from Columbus, Ohio. ANYWAY! We ended up walking out of Cracker Barrel tonight BEFORE ordering and nobody there seemed to have a problem with it. We drove a long way to be ignored. Getting dinner from another restaurant now in Olathe before hitting the highway back home. SAD. We really wanted the Campfire Chicken at Cracker Barrel. read more

A Wonderful Birthday Dinner at Cracker Barrel! We went to Cracker Barrel on Tuesday evening to celebrate my father‑in‑law's birthday, and it ended up being such a nice night. Our waitress, Annabelle, was wonderful ... super friendly, on top of everything, and just really made us feel taken care of. It's amazing how much a great server can elevate the whole experience. The food was exactly what we were hoping for: hot, comforting, and delicious. The whole place had that cozy, homey vibe Cracker Barrel does so well, which made it a perfect spot for a family celebration. Overall, we had a great time and left feeling happy and full. My husband and I went to the Cracker Barrel hoping to get a nice Thanksgiving dinner. We got there at approximately 10:40 and still weren't seated at 12:10. The "store" part of the restaurant (which had people who were waiting to be seated) was packed to the gills and there was a long line waiting to get in. People couldn't even move inside the store. My husband asked several times how much longer until we would be seated and kept getting the same answer: about 20 minutes or so. Finally, we decided to leave and went to the Perkins closest to Cracker Barrel. We were seated and waited on right away and served a delicious Thanksgiving meal. Ordered delivery and I can't blame the delivery driver for the way the food was packed. The soup tipped over and the juice spilled everywhere in the sack. Just had breakfast here. I had scrambled eggs with cheese (extra 1.49) and bacon, hash brown casserole and biscuits and gravy. Nothing was hot, just barely warm. Has brown casserole had a very strong onion flavor, very strange. The bacon was just okay and the biscuits were small and not very flavorful. The gravy was actually the consistency of wall paper paste and had no flavor. There was no sausage used in the gravy prep. Eggs were passable. The only reason I gave this place 1 star was because I ordered a coke and it was really good. I cannot believe this franchise has lasted as long as it has. read more

How I have lived in the Midwest for over 25 years, and never experienced a Cracker Barrel until now, I'll never know how this happened. Half shop of fun goodies, half restaurant.. the walls are lined with all sorts of fun art and decor. I was occupied just looking around. I had the Good Morning Breakfast with a side of their hash brown casserole. Everything was great! The hash brown casserole tasted just like what we have at Thanksgiving where you add a can of creamed mushroom soup, turkey sausage was nice and crispy, and grits came slightly buttered only. Please help me understand why it smells like PISS as soon as you hit the doors at this location! The first time, shame on you, the second time shame on me, and no three strikes and you're out. Both times I asked for an employee to let a manager know about the godawful smell from their restrooms that permeated the entire front store area. I have the nose of a bloodhound and I smell everything. Cleanliness is not an option for me, it's the only way. However, I do allow room for improvement and twice now there's been no change. P.S. - Our waitress Josefina however, was so AMAZING! She deserves 5 stars and better working conditions. So we came here because we missed breakfast at the hotel. The wait wasn't too bad. We were seated at a table for 4 but we had 5 people they just put a chair on the end our table. Our waitress Samira was so nice that once the table next to us left she offered us to push our tables together to make more room. She was so nice with awesome customer service. It wasn't loud or too crowded inside just a good vibe. We are from California so the customer service here in Kansas is superb compared to our state. Samira made sure we had everything we needed, checked on us in a timely manner, and before you know it we were done eating and we left her a nice tip for the great customer service we received. My family love coming here as there is something for everybody and they serve breakfast all day. For the past couple years the food has been very consistent and cooked well. The service here is always great and accommodating. But I will say some servers will go beyond the call of duty and it's rare that we don't get that type of service here. When the place is packed it can get pretty noisy since the restaurant area is basically one giant room with privacy walls separating further to three smaller rooms. Overall my family loves this place and have been coming here for years and will continue to come. I would recommend this place for breakfast lunch and dinner! read more

We went on Sunday for lunch after church. They had painted and cleaned up the dining area, it looked cleaner and fresher. We the. Had lunch and took a bit to get the food, the server was excellent and food was good. They changed the biscuits and cornbread recipes, they tasted better and were warm, you have to ask for them now. I usually get what they call the oven baked chicken and now the name has changed and how it's prepared. The chicken and green beans had great flavor, the chicken was a little smaller than before. I had the mashed potatoes, the portion was small for what dinner cost and a little dry, maybe had been sitting awhile. I would suggest eating here and looks like they are trying to have a variety now. read more

I rarely see these restaurants, so when I saw it, I knew I had to visit. I stopped in, got waited on immediately, the server told me they had bloody Mary's, and I jumped on it. I ordered breakfast for dinner, and the food was great. Of course, while here, I had to get some okra. It was fantastic. Overall, I wish there were more of these around where I live. Ordered pot roast and expected to get a wonderful piece of extremely tender roast with minimal amount of seasoning and sauce. What I received was big chunks of meat that were completely obliterated with a dark brown tar consistency sauce. The picture on the front of the restaurant still shows what I initially described. They were unable to tell me what was in the sauce, which was a problem because I have many allergies. I ended up eating a bowl of green beans and a bowl of corn for my dinner. I have a relied on being able to eat the food at Cracker Barrel, but I shall not be returning. read more

This is by far my favorite breakfast place. Ever. Hands. Down. The biscuits and gravy are to die for. But my number one favorite is the grandma's sampler. Two eggs - a sample of bacon sausage and ham and a side of hashbrown casserole with two buttermilk pancakes. Look - here I am writing this review about to go crawl to the car and go get some now just thinking about it. The pancakes -- you have to try the blackberry jam to put on it - it's on the side menu for you to pick out with whipped cream. Anyways. My party of four arrived to Cracker Barrel recently for a lunch. We decided to order four alcoholic drinks (mimosas), to start our meal. When the drinks were brought out, four bottles of sparkling champagne accompanied them, already opened and supposed to be filled about a quarter full. We poured them into all our juice glasses when we noticed one was empty. We notified our server and said she would take care of it. Quite a bit after, we began getting impatient, and flagged our waitress. Soon after the manager came and said she would "look into what happened in the kitchen" she came back saying that one of the bottles was filled more full and we should've had the correct amount of champagne. But all of the glasses of mimosas were filled to the same level (aside from the missing one), and when I asked her why there were four bottles, she replied that it was just for presentation purposes. She didn't fix my problem and I still paid for four mimosas even though I only received three. Needless to say, I feel like I've been cheated. It's unfortunate because I actually enjoy this place. But I don't see myself coming back because of how this situation was handled. Would not recommend. read more

We were told 15 minute wait when we arrived, that turned into 35 minutes. The front was a mess, with people who were not the parties being seated instead of the actual party being called. Our table wasn't clean when we were seated, then the table and chair were cleaned with the same rag, which was not really appealing since we didn't know what the wet substance was on the chair. We weren't given silverware, so I had to go get my own. Our waitress tried to give us food for a different table, so we had to help her figure out who it belonged to. When our food came, the eggs were cold and lacked seasoning, the biscuits were tasteless, and the bacon was undercooked. The little warm syrup bottles are nice, being able to pay online now is nice, and the store has a lot of cool things, but the restaurant was kind of dirty (the decor could,use some deep cleaning), and the food was mediocre. We'll probably go somewhere else for breakfast next time. read more

This is a great spot for homestyle comfort foods at a reasonable price. I like the good selection, the daily specials, and the complimentary biscuits and cornbread. My maple bacon grilled chicken lunch ($8.99) was served in 15 minutes, and tasted great, with two juicy white breasts, and generous portions of the two sides I selected (cole slaw, and mac 'n cheese). Everything was flavorful, including the fresh biscuits with their tasty apple butter, and the service was efficient and professional. Very nice! read more

Sunrise Breakfast is a Big breakfast so you better have a big appetite! The food is great and the biscuits and cornbread are awesome. Ask for Jaime to be your waitress as she was the best server I've experienced in the last 20 years ! She really has it going on as she is accurate, fast, courteous and accommodating. What more could you ask for good food and good people. The gift shop is always a treat and fun to shop and Belinda is so helpful and friendly! If your from California this is your stop for a memorable Kansas visit. I must say Cracker Barrel Is in a league of its own. I forgot to add that I left my work brief case in the womens rest room.
