Nice location downtown Duluth near the William Irvin ship.An old Iron Ore ship that served the Duluth harbor and is now a museum. After our tour, we were all hungry and being close to the water made us more hungry for fish. This Red Lobster is decorated nicely. The dining area is spacious and clean. Our waitress Tammy was helpful in updating us on specials. We ordered two fish and chips and an ultimate feast. The fish was very well done. The fries were tasty and everything was fresh. The food is what's normal with Red Lobster as a chain. It is the layout and location of this restaurant that is attractive! If you are in Duluth stop on in and you won't be disappointed!!

I dig me some Red Lobster (my favorite chain) and this location did not disappoint. With COVID, they handled my reservation extremely well and we were promptly seated at a very clean table. This was followed by a friendly, courteous and prompt member of the wait team who certainly seemed to be going the extra mile to ensure we had no issues. Food was quick enough, fresh and portions were as expected. My ONLY issue was that the second round of biscuits took a little longer than my taste buds wanted but really, it was not late by any means. Well done RL, well done.....

Red Lobster is understandably a chain place and I get that. Sure, they have their Cheddar Bay Biscuits and there iconic lobster tank, but when it comes to originality there isn't too much going on. But a few things though that I will highlight: they probably have the best Caesar salad I have had anywhere else. There is just something about that dressing with fresh cracked pepper that puts it over the top. There is a slight tang that makes it the best creamy caesar dressing. What I love most about the Duluth location for Red Lobster is the building that it is located in. Found in one of the old brick warehouses in the canal district, it is arguably one of the prettiest Red Lobsters out there. So if you like the food, I won't judge. Every now and then I crave a biscuit and some AYCE shrimp too.

You can see from our receipt that we ordered quite a bit of food. The portions (from a year ago same time) were far smaller. For example, the baked potato was the size of two very small red potatoes. It came out last. Fish came out first. Tilapia was decent size but that's the only portion that was normal sized. The fish and chips only had one piece of fish. Other area restaurants are two. Our reservation was at 6:15pm. We left there at 8:30. Very long wait for food. The calamari used to be my favorite app. It used to be deep fried with broccoli pieces as well. It came out as just calamari rings without any broccoli pieces. Not worth $12. We waited for almost two hours for our food to come out. The lobster roll is not like the hoagie roll it appears to be in the picture or like any lobster roll on the east coast. This was $10 and laughable as it was a petite roll that came out in a small oval bowl. Our waiter was super nice and friendly. Knew we waited so gave us 2 desserts to go. I think he may have had too many tables because he would disappear for quite awhile and I would not see him (and we sat outside of the door that goes to the kitchen). Maybe he had tables on the other side who knows. The calamari was getting cold and I was hoping to flag him down for cocktail sauce but had to ask a manager walking around. I don't fault him at all. I think he did the best he could. I think the kitchen was stacked but if it was backed up, we should have been told. Basically, there are far less commercialized restaurants in the area where you can have a far better, fresher meal that is of normal proportions. Take a ride over to Eddies in Superior WI. Never, ever had a bad meal there and it would have been a 1/3 of the price. :) I won't be back to red lobster. Staple in Duluth but I am over it

Review for today, bad food and service 6/05/2019 Stopped in while vacationing with my daughter in two harbors, we have come to this red lobster in the past and had very good service and food........ today we were wanting really badly to have the soup and salad. We always enjoy olive gardens endless soup and salad, so we're excited to hear red lobster was offering it as well.. We got the most wonderful biscuits as always, then came the service she came to the table and handed us everything first off, so we had to pass down as it came and we were on a regular table, she even held our glasses of tea in front of us till we took them to pass, sad, never quite had a server do this with everything. Then first was lobster bisque, I did not like it, not only was it cool, it tasted like it was made from that nacho cheese in a can, so I set it aside. Then she brought out another bowl, hoping it was hotter than the first saying bowls were cold, which was also cool, then I gave that one to my hubby, next time I saw her I asked her if we could mix it so I ordered clam chowder, it also came out slightly warm but was still the best clam chowder I have had in awhile, lots of clams in it.. would have really been good hot, hubby then got a warm flavorful bacon potato soup he liked as well, just wish soups were heated up more.. then came service we think she literally took breaks in between the soups as long as it took, we had to ask for water refills and never got tea refilled so we got three half cup bowls of warm soup, salad, biscuits, one glass of tea for $16..... sooooo terribly disappointed, would really like our money back and start all over. This so sucked if it was not for the cheddar bay biscuits...

Had their coconut butterfly shrimp. Excellent , what more would you want. Staff, service, cost, and excellent food. I forgot fast. Been here before, and it's still a favorite of mine. You want seafood, go to Red Lobster inDuluth. Still the best. I'll be back.

The view of the lake as you enter the main dining room is spectacular. If you are fortunate enough to visit on a good-weather day during the summer, the patio experience cannot be beat. Every time I have visited, the staff have been genuinely gracious and caring. Add a unique and generous drink menu on top of a delicious selection of meal options what more could you ask for? Many of the menu items are gluten-free or gluten-free on request. As with most of their menus, brunch options are unique and worth the visit. Lake Superior Hash is a unique and tasty recommendation. I cannot say much about most of the dinner menu, because I ALWAYS order the ribeye, though I have added the scallops on occasion. The quality and preparation of the ribeye are well above most restaurant standards. Don't miss it! I also enjoy just stopping in for a drink. I have struck up conversations at the bar with perfect strangers, while enjoying one of the signature cocktails (don't miss the Minnesota Old Fashioned). Be sure to make a reservation. This is the one mistake you can make at the Boat Club. With a restaurant of this quality, you cannot assume there will be an open table for a walk-up.

A year ago, I was at Boat Club--a pleasant place with impeccable service. Now, 6/17, the staff is new and inexperienced, and the manager gives vague answers and doesn't solve the problem. It was impossible to have a good time when the temperature in the main room was at least 67 degrees. It seemed like they wanted us to leave as soon as possible. The adjoining room where the bar is located was at least 72 degrees. The Mall was at least 70 degrees. The manager, who seemed completely out of touch--as if he didn't even know what was going on--didn't solve the problem. On the contrary, he dramatically announced that he was going to raise the temperature. Instead, it got even colder. Very unpleasant. Another employee told me that the temperature is controlled from the hotel. Who's telling the truth? I don't like being taken for a fool. It's a shame--I was looking forward to spending an evening with my family and having a pleasant dinner. It didn't turn out that way. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

Even though we are visiting Duluth during this crazy time of the wild fires, Duluth Grill made our trip worth it! They have a streamlined process for getting seated, the staff are welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu and local area. My family ordered the usual staples: biscuits and gravy, pancakes and sausage, and bacon/eggs/sausage. All were hearty portions and perfectly prepped. I tried the "Triple B" which turns out to be a Midwest version of Bibimbop. Made with manoomin (wild rice), beef/pork mix, kimchi, marinated kale- probably my fave of the dish. The combo is a deliciously perfect power meal to start any day and weekend right! I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the care they take in procuring local ingredients- even their kale and some herbs are from their own lil garden. I highly recommend the Duluth Grill, there's something for everyone! We will definitely stop by on our next trip out to Duluth.

It was busy, being a Sunday morning especially, but the staff was handling it all well from our perspective . I used to manage restaurants a long time ago and was impressed with the flow. Our waitress, Natalie, was delightful, knew the menu well to describe and answer questions, and we were not wanting for anything. She checked on us, always grinning and managing the iace well. I had the banana bread pancakes. A perfect choice ! They came and looked like a picture stacked up and flowing down with Carmel, maple bourbon syrup, marzcapone cream and nuts. So delicious. I took half home and enjoyed the rest later. Heated up perfectly with a 20 second zap in micro. My son had the corn beef hash skillet and said his was just as good as mine. Those who listen to my cautionary tale may end up fairing better for themselves should you decide to make the trek and find yourself at this magnificent smoked seafood counter. But first, for the love of god, if you are here you are a stone's throw from Lake Superior which is perhaps one of the best places for fish in the country. You may like salmon. Russ Kendall may do a great job with salmon. But don't sleep on those fish that were plucked from these frigid waters. This mindset had me eyeing the walleye and the jumbo whitefish sections. I wanted to buy both, but this was just one of many smoked fish destinations on my list for the week. I hate wasting food, and there is only so much my family can eat. Despite what others may suggest, I am not about to freeze beautiful smoked fish. My hope was that pieces in the case might be able to be cut down. But those hopes were dashed. I get it. That's fine. Policy. Mess. Time. Workflow. Yadda yadda yadda. The walleye pieces were big, but the helpful clerk found a smaller one just for me. Now, as the fish selection process was happening, more and more people were funneling into the shop. My wife was getting antsy. She wanted me to make up my mind and leave. And she had a point. However, that smaller piece was from the meaty and lean tail end of the fish. In a panic I gave the piece a thumbs up, and the clerk wrapped it up for me. This was my one great regret. Not just of this shopping trip, but of my whole vacation. I should have opted for a larger piece that was fat and juicy. That same helpful clerk did indeed find me a gorgeous hunk of lake whitefish that was delightfully fatty, and eating it made me smile with delight. Of course, different people can prefer different pieces of fish. Just like there are some chicken wing lovers who prefer the drummette and others who prefer the flat. If everyone liked the same thing, the world would be a pretty dull place. I guess what I'm saying is don't panic. Know in advance the cuts in the case are the cuts that are available for sale. Find the pieces that call you. If it ends up being a little more fish than you wanted, so be it. This stuff is so good you'll find a way to get it down without denigrating it to the freezer. For those who need crackers, like my wife and kid, there are sleeves for sale. As far as I'm concerned, those crackers are just taking up space in my belly that could be used for more fish. One last thing. Okay, maybe a few last things. Let's call it a lightning round: This isn't a restaurant. It's a takeaway smoked fish shop. It's small. It's busy. It's efficient. It's a regional treasure. Get there. Eat local smoked fish. Salmon isn't local to Minnesota. Get it fatty. Do not fear heads, or skin, or bones. The good stuff takes a little extra work, but it's worth it! You've got this. Now eat well.
