Was so excited to go to TR after it had been years since I've been to one. Decided to take my mother on her birthday July 15th. We got there promptly at opening, along with a short line of others at the door. We were greeted and seated, and the bag of peanuts was a surprise. Business model change since I had been there last. No more barrel of peanuts. No big deal. Waitress was clearly under-trained. Had to flag her down as she wandered past us several times. Had to stop her for the drink order, the food order, then never cleared the plates nor bothered to offer dessert. We sat amongst our piles of dishes until we left. Just plain ignored the whole visit. Early after seated and visiting with each other we were interrupted by "the manager" for an obligatory "Hi, I'm ....... The manager". Who cares? Anyway, never saw that person again. The entire time we tried to get the waitresses attention there were pods of servers standing around visiting with each other and oblivious to our attempts at flagging ours down. Training. That's the only thing that came to my mind the whole visit. The food was also just so, so. It was not nearly the experience I remember years ago. Mediocre all around. The "I love my job" shirts did the talking, but the poor performance did the walking. I really, really wanted to enjoy my visit, but something has changed, and changed for the worse at TR. I don't normally leave negative reviews, but this experience was frustrating enough to warrant one--especially since we made a 1-hour drive to get there. My son and I visited around 9 PM, with plenty of time before close (restaurant closes at 11). Like many people, part of the appeal of Texas Roadhouse is the warm rolls--something my son was particularly looking forward to. We were told there was a delay because they were "running low," which we were fine with at first. However, once our food arrived, we didn't see our server again until I was ready to pay. No check-in, no drink refills, and despite asking for more rolls, none were brought. When I finally asked again at the very end, our server informed us that his manager wasn't "allowing" extra rolls because they were concerned about running out. At 10 PM. With only an hour of service left. In a mostly empty restaurant. It's hard to describe how disappointing it was to drive all that way and be denied the thing Texas Roadhouse is known for--while also feeling like we were more of an afterthought than a valued table. The food was fine, but the service was inattentive, and the excuse about the rolls was just baffling. It's one thing to run out. It's another to gatekeep dinner rolls from paying customers who are already seated and ordering. We likely won't be returning to this location. read more

Ordered a full rack of ribs and they were dry and overcooked. They replaced them, which I appreciated, but the second rack came out cold in the middle. Service was also lacking. It took about 10 minutes to get a drink refill, and we didn't get our rolls until I had to ask. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. Based on this visit, I wouldn't recommend going when it's slow. You're probably better off going during busy times when the food is fresher and things are moving more consistently. read more

We had such a great experience here the first time that we actually planned our return trip to Duluth around coming back. Unfortunately, this visit was the complete opposite. Our food came out cold, and the service was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. The most shocking part was that a to-go box was literally thrown onto the bar in the middle of our meal without us even asking for one. It felt rude, aggressive, and completely unprofessional. I've been to many Texas Roadhouse locations in different states, and this was by far the worst service I've experienced. This location didn't live up to the same experience we have at our home location. Potato skins were ok. They weren't very warm. The cheese was pretty set meaning they had been sitting a while before we got them. Our steaks were cooked as requested but they were missing that traditional Texas Roadhouse seasoning. Never go on a Sunday. We got seated right away took 10 mins for server to come to the table, wasn't busy at all mind you. I ordered a burger my bun was as hard as a frisbee, I asked for well done burger it was burnt on the outside and a little pink on the inside. Fries came with the burger I had about 7 cold fries. My son ordered a kids meal of steak bites medium done and the bites was well well done. My daughter ordered loaded baked potato and it was dry. I thought the rolls were unlimited, as for that's what Texas Roadhouse is typically known for, but we were met with rude, and hesistance from our waittress when she would check on us. We tried the new mozzarella twists. The marina was the star!! Mozzarella twists were your basic mozzarella sticks. Nice cute concept of twisting them for something different. The marina was amazing!! I had the shrimp appetizer and it was good, but I only got five shrimp medium size, and it cost 9.00. The rest of my group thought that the food was fine. The free bread buns were really good. The AC was very chilly, they also had a ceiling fan on and I ask that to be turned off and they were happy to do that! I really appreciated that ! The rest of the meals were about average price! I am very sad that they dumped Bud-Light beer, as it was on the menu! To me that was a very political move! Which a business should stay away from.. Not a night goes by it seems where this place isn't roaring with lively music and laughter! On the evenings that seem busy to me, I'm never not told they've been far more so. I don't know how they do it, but I'm glad they do. My friend and I visit here frequently now that we are aware of how much we like it here. She typically has particular requests for meal options at restaurants, and this place always caters to what she needs. I myself am far less picky, yet more often than not wind up getting the same thing each time- the steak done medium rare. The workers go above and beyond for their customers, that's for sure. Additionally they make our visits there so fun and positively memorable every time with their rodeo themed dances for birthdays and what nots. If you're looking for outstanding bread and butter, look no further than here- brought out right away upon being seated always perfectly hot and ready for consumption! We will be returning soon and appreciate this place as a comfort spot when choosing somewhere to go out to eat. read more

Came in by myself a few weeks back, and thankfully I did because there was only one spot available at the bar. Late, late review on my part. But, I found a spot and sat down. The only bad part about the meal was the time it took the bar tender to acknowledge that I was there. I realized they were both busy but after about ten minutes I flagged him down and ordered a drink and asked for a menu. Drink was alright, had the kicker to make it a bit more "spicyyyy" lol. Onion bloom was great as always. Had to ask for bread, which was kind of annoying but it was at least fresh and hot when it came out. I ordered the prime rib and they were put of baked potatoes, but the tender told me he could get me the mashed potatoes loaded, so i went that route. Everything tasted good, the bday coupon I used was hassle free, and I went on my merry way. Haven't been back since, but might need to visit soon for some more prime rib. Great dinner, reasonable prices and fast service. I used their wait time on their app and it's always efficient. Love the bread and the cinnamon butter. I had a small sirloin and it was great. I appreciate they offer smaller sized steak options at a great price. Most restaurants only offer a huge slab of steak that's just too much if you have any sides. I have been to Texas Roadhouses in MN, IA and WI. Always a great experience. They are so consistent with great food quality and fast service. Wow, my visit with my two sons was underwhelming! The server took our order without a pen and paper or tablet and proceeded to order the wrong dish for my son. I ordered a beer and had to remind her 20 minutes into waiting for our food to please bring the beer. They gave us a crappy low table in the middle of the room rather than a booth on the edge despite booths being available and given to groups that arrived after we did. Halfway through the meal, a server pushed a saddle on a wooden platform across the floor as part of some birthday ritual for a patron and banged it right into my elbow. Damn, that hurt. No apology, of course. I was done eating when my sons corrected order came.
