We had a great time at the Boulder Tap House while visiting superior. Our waitress was kind and gave great recommendations for our meals! I ended up going with a build your own burger, which had a veggie patty (very good, perks for not being a black bean) with swiss, onion straws & mushrooms. I had a side of pickle fries that were baked to perfection- I reaaaally enjoyed those! We also got their medium sized wings with sweet chili sauce- perfect amount of spice and some meaty wings. They had a small size on happy house which we'll get next time! The inside was a bit slow, but that's also because it was 9pm on a friday lol! We enjoyed it. We came here around 4:30 pm on a Sunday. They were not busy at all. Works for me! Four or us sat in a comfortable booth. They also have bar seating, a number of high top tables and a nice outdoor seating area with a mix of high and low tables. Our server, Eva, was very pleasant and helpful. We weren't in a hurry so we sipped our waters, studied the menu and visited. Eva was understanding and patient. We ended up ordering drinks. The little one had a kid's vanilla shake, two of had draft beers and one of us stuck with water. A bit later, we ordered food as follows: - Fried Pickles appetizer - Soup (Chili) Salad (Mixed Greens) and Bread Stick - Mushroom and Swiss Burger with Ranch Fries - Cheesesteak Sandwich with Cajun Fries - Kid's Burger with Apple Sauce The food and drinks were decent. Ordered a French Dip sandwich with Au Jus on the side. The Au Jus was filled with Italian seasoning and had a layer of oil on top. I complained to the waiter that it was NOT Au jus and tasted like Italian seasoning dip. He said that maybe it was the seasonings that dripped off the meat that made it that way. No sir! Ordered the jalapeño bacon cheddar egg rolls. Don't let the name fool you, there is nothing Asian about this dish. It was awesome! Dipping sauce is really good too. Got the Brown Sugar & Smoked Cheddar Burger & Cajun fries. Burger was excellent! Fries were ok but better in the egg roll sauce. Definitely would visit again. Had a couple of beers (large selection!). Ordered cheese curds (excellent!). I ordered a build your own burger to go. When I got home, I was looking at the receipt. Was not given happy hour price for cheese curds (pretty good happy hour if you get the discounts), the burger was a limp mess. It tasted just ok. The fries were soggy and gross. I threw most of those away. I usually give a place a 2nd chance to win me over. Nothing really there to lure me back. Although the bar chairs were out of this world! read more

We were in town for a week. We were so impressed the first time that we went back again. Both times we had fried pickles. Freshly battered with a tempura type batter and a side of chipotle sauce, very good! The first night we both got the garlic aioli burger. The meat was a burger and butter grind. Very rich but really good! The next time I got the Reaper burger. It had a big kick. If you don't like spice do not get it. Service was better than average. It was a nice clean open sort of a layout. Two stars is fitting. When we were there it was extremely hot inside so was very uncomfortable to start. I give it two stars because everyone else's food looked a lot better. I went with the shrimp rice bowl. That was a mistake. If I see cilantro rice on the description then I'd expect fresh cilantro. Don't understand why bars and restaurants can have all possible beer choices available but not all soda choices. For not a great first impression. The place isn't bad on the inside, but nothing to write home about it either. Usually I'm ok with that because the food more than makes up for it. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. I got the jalapeño popper burger. The jalapeños were supposed to be roasted and the were not. I had to take over half the cream cheese off. It was all you could taste. There also was a "blazin berries" sauce. The sauce was so broken, that it just sat on the bottom of the basket. At first I thought it was juices from the burger. Nope, it was the berry sauce, with a consistency of water, that saturated the bottom bun and turned it to mush. However, the service was excellent. She was very nice and attentive and made sure we didn't need anything. Service is what kept this review from being a 2 star. I don't think I'll be going back for a second time. Well, we decided to try out the new Boulder Tap House, we expected a long wait, so when we got there, they told us a 50-minute wait and it only ended up being 30 minutes, we ordered right away, our food took 60 minutes, but we understood, the place was packed, there was never a slow moment, all the staff were working hard and always moving. Our server Kayla, was great, it was only her second shift, She was giving the wrong burger to bring to me and I noticed it after the second bite, so, she got the right one from the kitchen right away and they allowed me to keep the other one, without charge. Everyone kept a good attitude and our food was good, not great but good. I had the Reaper Burger, if you like something a little spicy, go for it. Service was Good. Food was mediocre. Took forever(30 minutes) to get a Reuben and lime chicken tacos on a Thursday night . Reuben had no sauerkraut or thousand island dressing, over buttered bread with fair quantity of corned beef. We will give it another shot eventually based off the fact they are a new restaurant in the area, First off the corn spears are just weird and vary hard to eat,my wife and her friend had the wings and they didn't like them, They were soggy with no crisp at all(I tried the wings in Grand Rapids and they were crispy and good)We also tried the onion rings and they were vary good.I tried the BROWN SUGAR CHEDDAR BURGER The beef was pretty good, the problem I had was they put soo much sauce on the burger the buns were soggy, When I say they put to much sauce on it the hole tray it was served on was covered in the sauce. So the chese curds I got as my side became soggy because it shares the same basket as the burger. 0/10. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Everything wrong just completely stacked up. Fried pickles were all stuck together with raw batter between the pickles, and seemed to be barely drained of the oil. I asked our waitress for a new one. We waited for a new one, but our food ended up coming out. I asked the waitress about the pickles and told her I no longer wanted them because my children were just going to eat their dinner at that point. Despite saying so, the pickles still came out and I still had to pay for them even though no one ate them. I got the hot honey chicken sandwich and asked for no hot honey on the chicken and the horseradish topping to be on the side. Mine came out with the hot honey sauce on the chicken, the bun not toasted, the greens on it were discolored, and it was so dry I had to take the top bun off because I could barely chew it. Two of my children got the cheese burger kids meal. Both burgers had the meat cut completely in half to I assume check for doneness, but made my children's cheeseburgers completely dry and then with cold fries. My other child had the children's chicken strip and the chicken strips were burnt. To my COMPLETE SURPRISE the manager who came to the table told me "yea I'm sorry they SOMETIMES come out like that"! WHAT! My children are humans too and do not deserve burnt food. I asked about the "fresh fruit" that was going to come with the chicken strip kids meal, and the waitress told me it was a Dole fruit cup with the peaches and cherries. It was definitely not fresh fruit nor was it the one with peaches and cherries. It was a tropical one with pineapple, which my son cannot even eat pineapple. To top it all off, my one child was eating her cheeseburger and a medium length brownish-blonde straight hair gets pulled from the food she was chewing in her mouth. We immediately stopped and I asked for our bill to leave. When the manager came over to tell me that sometimes the chicken strips do come out burnt, she brought us two 10$ gift certificates that expire in one month. I did tell her to give them to my sister, who was eating with us, because I would absolutely not be back. Very little food was actually eaten. No one offered to fix anything or comp anything for burnt food that was not touched or hair. I absolutely want my money, I was unable to stand my ground for not paying for garbage food and I should have taken my kids and left but my husband is on military orders and it's hard enough dining out with three small children. I want to also add that they no longer are going a military discount for their service families bill, like Texas Roadhouse does a 10% off on their entire tab.
