We were happily greeted when we entered and were seated right away. Loved the open atmosphere of the place. We ordered a couple of beers, as well as, an appetizer and a small pizza. Our waitress returned a few minutes later to let us know that they were out of the appetizer we had ordered. She suggested another one which was very good! The pizza was really tasty, too. When our beverages were looking low we were approached and asked if we wanted another. Our waitress checked in on us during our stay. We ended our visit with some delicious desserts! Just came in for a beer and snack. Our group got the stuffed mushrooms, loaded pretzel and a personal pan pizza. The mushrooms were delicious with some taste of garlic. Loaded pretzel was good too but like mushrooms more. Personal pan even though small was perfect! I washed it down with a craft beer. Come give them a try. read more

Sat down by myself and ordered a Pepsi and loaded Pretzel bites to start, but then after the pretzel bites were brought to me the waitress walked away without asking if I wanted anything else, to which I still wanted to get a pizza. Then after I finished the bites the waitress came back over with the check all ready to go. At that moment I realized I didn't want to speak up if I wasn't even given the chance to order anything else. Hands down, some of the best customer service I've had for a large party. I reached out to Deb via email about hosting my daughter soccer team for a team family dinner on a Friday evening. She responded to my request in less than 24 hours. She was very kind and helpful. She graciously gave me time to gather final numbers and call her back about 3 days before the event. We had 40 people, choose to do the salad, pizza, and soda option. They also were able to accommodate with Gluten Free pizzas too! We asked for food to be ready and served right at 7pm and they were set up and right on time!! We had one other server Shana helping. Both Deb and her were smiling and cheerful! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this venue to groups of all sizes. **Update** We had the Derailed pizza yesterday and asked for extra sauce because the last few pizzas that we've had here have been short on the sauce. If I'm paying $40 for a 16" pizza, it's pretty tacky charging for the extra sauce like an extra topping, especially after skimping on most of the veggies that are supposed to be on a Derailed pizza. You'd think we'd ordered a black olive pizza! It's no longer worth the drive for pizza at Thirsty Pagan. read more

Pizza was a little more bland than I recall from last time but we absolutely still loved this place. I had their Octoberfest and it was pretty good, however, my friend had their Pilsner and man was that refreshing. Glad I don't like by here because I'd be spending every dollar I made there getting the pizza and a pint. This was a nice stop on a weekday night when I was passing through town. They have live entertainment, which worried me at first, but it turned out delightful- a solo singer/acoustic guitarist with real talent. The personal pizza (I chose sausage, red peppers, onions) was quite tasty. The tomato soup special tasted a bit too much like pizza sauce, which was a little odd (but OK). Staff were very friendly, but unable to properly recommend a smooth tasting beer out of their collection (I'm sure they do better with IPAs). read more

We were in town for Grandma's Marathon and picked this place for our post race dinner. We could not have picked a more perfect place! There was a short wait of 15-20 minutes when our party of four arrived. We went to a bar for a couple beverages while we waited. I ordered the Lawn Chair cream ale and, to be honest, it was one of my least favorite cream ales I've had. Still, any beer is good after a marathon. We were seated within the 15-20 minutes they quoted. We ordered the cheese bread as an appetizer which came with a cup of dipping sauce. I love pizza sauce so that was a great plus. We ordered second beers. This time I had the Dreams of Orange cream ale. Now that one was a wonderful cream ale! Then we all ordered pizzas. Husband and son split a large pizza. The waitress warned them that it was very big and I told her that we'd just run a marathon. She said even so she didn't think they could eat it all. Darned if she wasn't right! It was the thickest, most topping filled pizza I have ever seen! Granted it was not cheap at $42 but they loved it and did have leftovers. Son's girlfriend ordered a 10 inch pizza and I ordered a gluten free spinach and feta. Mine was fabulous, especially for a gluten free and also came with delicious dipping sauce! This place is such a vibe! It's like a eclectic hippie took a Green Mill and made it their own. Came on a Wednesday eve and it was moderately full and a epic mustache guy strumming on a guitar. All the young (good looking) staff were attentive and kind. Seemed clean and family friendly(ish)! There are a few tables outside and did see a couple with a dog. Food came out promptly and was good. Went here on a Wednesday night while in town. We were surprised by some live music when we arrived. We didn't catch the singers name, but were very impressed. Also impressive is the number of rooms to this restaurant. We were in what seemed like one of the main sections, but as we looked around, we found a few more dining areas. Our waitress was quick to come and get our drink order and appetizer order and was very friendly. We ended up ordering a flight of four beers: North Coast Amber, Burntwood Black, Lawnchair, and Room for Cream. My favorite was the amber as it was smooth and very drinkable. My friend's favorite was the Room for Cream, which he described as the best light coffee beer he's had. This one worked very well, where most don't. For our appetizer, we got the lasagna rolls with sausage. It was quite tasty and the ricotta was thick and well flavored. The sausage also had a nice little kick to it to cut the cream. Also ordered was the chicken alfredo pizza, but with the standard red sauce as opposed to the alfredo. It had a nice pan style crust and the presentation was pretty fun in the pan. Definitely one of the better pizzas I've had and that was without the chicken on it! Odd occurrence we had was that we took a couple slices and couldn't taste/find any chicken on our chicken alfredo pizza. We mentioned it to our waitress and she checked with the kitchen. They told her that the chicken was finely shredded, but we couldn't taste or find it, so she ended up bringing us out a cup of chicken. The pizza was even better with the addition of its main ingredient. Overall, great service and very good food and beers. Only downside is that the pizzas are on the more expensive side with the 13" pizzas being slightly more expensive than the 16" pizzas at most places. They do taste good though. read more

After a trip to the Minnesota high point, this was EXACTLY what we were looking for: Staff: outstanding service and very friendly. (this is WI so, that's a given.) Beers: average selection of standard beers, but some great seasonals! Food: they make pizza, but it is 100% their own. I don't even know how to describe this style of pizza. It's think, but it ain't cakey and it certainly ain't deep dish. It's unlike any pizza I have ever had. Ambiance: the best aspect of this brewery, live music EVERY NIGHT. Then we ordered and I ordered a salad asked for pepper and was told they were out of pepper. They didn't have enough plates and silverware. The kicker was the gratuity that was tacked on was 20% and we got hit with a plastic tax and we were asked again if we were going to add more tip on top of that. read more

3.5 Stars Pizza and brewery in cool old train depot building. We were on the road and ate dinner at an odd time so it wasn't busy or loud. I had the curry naan and hummus for an appetizer, my husband had the Reuban rolls, we shared the Mediterranean pizza (with chicken added), and we each had a beer. The hummus and naan was very tasty, but my husband said his app was just OK. That was made up for, however, with how delicious the pizza was. In spite of the Mediterranean being way more style (my husband is more of a sausage and mushroom pizza guy), my husband repeatedly exclaimed over how good it was! I also liked that it was a little on the well done side. Points off for: a hair on the bottom of the pizza pan and pretty dirty bathrooms. I will also note that there's a small stage in the main dining room and we were relieved that there was not live music while we were there! I'm old and don't like surprise concerts. I would suggest walking around the building a bit to take a peek at the historic train depot. Also, keep a close eye out when looking for the building, the small Thirsty Pagan Brewing sign is not super obvious to spot. I'd come back for the tasty pizza next time we're in Duluth or Superior. read more

Really cool building that was an old train station. There was also a cute patio out front with string lights and flowers but the weather was a little chilly and rainy so we opted to sit inside. Monday happy hour specials were pretty good - $4.25 draft beers and $6 apps. We got the chicken parm dip, a cream ale, and the "O hell wit it" witbier to start. I didn't love the chicken parm dip and probably wouldn't order again, but it wasn't bad. The beer was super good though, especially the wit, nice and refreshing summer beer. We also ordered the special Korean BBQ pizza and it was amazing! Pork belly, gochujang sauce, and kimchi were the perfect amounts of everything and something a little different than our norm for pizza toppings. The 13" was more than enough for two people with leftovers too. Very friendly and quick service so we really enjoyed this pizza spot on our way through town! read more

Loved this wonderful find, just off the beaten path. Located in an old train depot, the atmosphere is perfect for a brew pub serving amazing pizza. The beer selection was impressive as was the live music! We ordered the Derailed pizza which was so loaded with ingredients, we had to use knives and forks to shovel in the greatness. Hannah was our server and did an amazing job of taking care of us. We will definitely be by making this a frequent spot any time we are in Superior. The Cauliflower pizza was awesome as well as the other two we tried with their regular crust . Service was great and so was the beer and root beer. This is an amazing place. The depot setting is really cool. We had a train go by right outside that shook the floor while we were eating. The beer that I had with lunch was tasty.
