My family finds Outback to be consistent in our experience. We generally order the same dish each (our favorites developed over the years). Very consistent quality each time. One thing I enjoy, the broccoli side is very good, not something you can count on (vegetable sides) in the area 12 months out of the year. Salmon is cooked with a consistency I don't find elsewhere at the price point. Servers are general as good as can be expected, with a fair number who exceed that expectation. We don't order alcoholic drinks often, but when we do have been happy with the results. My only change I would ask for... Bring back the Pork Porterhouse. A truly unappreciated gem. It vanished 6 or so years ago when prices went sky high for food and I get that. Just hoping at some time to see it back, even if just a special. read more

I cannot begin to say how awesome our experience was Saturday night 8/30/25. There was a ton of us and we had one single waiter named Wade that took care of our whole table and he was phenomenal and never got flustered and was so professional and attentive and friendly. I wish I remembered the name of the manager for the night as he was also just as phenomenal and awesome! Our food came out hot and delicious and I don't think we had one complaint. Our group ran from a baby up to a great grandma so obviously all kinds of different food preferences and tweaks to dinners and everything was spot on. All the staff that helped deliver all of our food had big smiles and everyone was so helpful. I don't remember the ambience but I think we were probably the ambience because we were probably kind of loud lol. Chain restaurants get bad reps but this one was like eating with family. read more

My wife and I went here tonight because we know it's consistent. Tonight was different! Everyone was on more than normal! We sat at the bar, like we normally do. Both of our meals were cooked absolutely perfect! We both ordered rare steaks and they came perfectly cooked! My fried blooming chicken was cooked great, but I would prefer the sauce on the side only. We ordered the Aussie Cheese Fries.... Damn good, but this night could have used more cheese. We came home with about another 2-3 meals worth of leftovers! Outback is back on the list! Highly recommend! read more

I am from out of town and was up visiting Duluth. I ordered a steak that the waiter did not even ask how I wanted it prepared... And then it came and was about a quarter inch thick and terrible. Also, the wild rice on the side was not prepared with any flavor or to my liking. I was really looking forward to a nice dinner with the steak and the sides, but it didn't only fall short. It fell really really short. For the money that we paid for the meal we should've been reimbursed. It was terrible. I hope that this helps you too alert management for not only your back side of the kitchen, but also your front end, the waiter was very rude and not in touch with service. Have you guys eaten at the Outback? If not, you're missing out. This place is so nice and classy looking with a bit of a country charm. We were able to reserve a table for a family of four adults and three children on a rather busy evening. The host greeted us with a smile and gathered drinks for us right away. Looking through the menu you immediately notice that there is so many options so why not start with an appetizer. My mother in law suggested a blooming onion. Came out to perfection. The sauce that went with it was delicious. I ordered the steakhouse Salad and a bowl of Clam Chowder. Although my clam chowder came out looking like dog vomit, it definitely made up for flavor. It was really delicious and definitely worth trying if you're a fan of chowders. The steak on the salad came out at a perfect medium rare, full of flavor. The meat truly speaks for itself. The ambience is casual but also says "classy." This would be a great place to bring the whole family or even pop the question on the date night you wouldn't soon forget. After a hectic day, I thought I would reward my self with a quiet, quality steak. I ordered an 8 oz sirloin with grilled shrimp. The shrimp was good. However, the steak was as tough as unmarbeled round steak. It was NOT anywhere near the quality that I expected or paid for. Service was adequate. Very disappointed and even insulted that they would pawn such a poor cut of beef on anyone. I see no need to try them again. read more

We had an early dinner here today. Seared prime rib done to perfection. Alice Springs chicken. Delicious ! What made our meal even better, was our server. Brandon. So accommodating, and patient and explained everything in detail for us. Just really made this a great experience. Thank you Brandon, and thank you Outback Hermantown management, for always hiring the best people. Everything was nice and clean too. Wow, Super friendly staff, we are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary running around daluth. Stopped at this outback and I can't say enough.. We had eaten last week at the outback in Bloomington, Mn and this one is by far better. We had the steak and endless shrimp and wowzer.. we always eat endless shrimp red lobster and this outback location blows it out of the water. We are dropping in later for the sharable pitchers of top shelf margaritas and sangria's. Ok..here is the follow up went back for happy hour.. place was completely packed. Did have to ask for 2nd and third drinks because of this which was ok. Then had the grilled shrimp and medium wings.. Really nasty! Today's lunch experience was more than disappointing. The steaks were covered with so much hot seasoning that the hot was all you could taste. I love blackened steaks, but these simply gad no flavor, just spicy. My French fries were so covered in salt that I just sent them back, asking for unseasoned fries. The server was the highlight of the meal, polite, friendly, and apologetic for the awful food. I don't get it, I had Outback in Rochester two weeks ago, excellent, Outback in San Juan, perfect. Outback in Duluth, just disappointing all around. My next steak in Duluth will certainly be eaten elsewhere. read more

She was professional, but personal as well, and not just a robot she was joking with us while still staying on task. Our food arrived and it was perfect no problems at all, and it tasted good! The ol lady ordered steak medium well and came out looking like a hockey puck, server was a little rude about it, asking to cut into the steak so he could get a look for himself. Outback is OK. The restaurant was pretty close to empty at lunch time during my most recent visit. For some reason, it still took quite awhile to place our order. The server was very nice, friendly, and helpful. The bread they brought out to start was pretty good. It was fresh and still warm. The wildberry lemonade was good too. I've never really been a fan of the presentation at the Outback. When ordering a steak, they usually serve it by itself, as a piece of meat, just sitting alone on an otherwise empty place. The side dish generally comes in a separate dish (on the side). Although, this time, they actually put the side dish on the same plate as the steak, which actually helped the presentation a bit. I am not a fan of their baked potatoes, as they have gigantic grains of salt coating the outside of the potato... which ends up being all you can taste. The potato soup is pretty good though. I am a big fan of their banana cream pie mini-milkshake. Unfortunately, when I went to order one this time, they have taken it off the menu. read more

My son said his chicken strips were super dry (this kid knows his chicken strips), we got a Cobb salad which was nothing spectacular and way over priced. I have three stars- I thought that the Mac and cheese was kind of unique and a definite upgrade from the kraft crap you get at most places. Burger was tasty and cooked nice, but overpriced for sure.
