Visit Red Lobster Wednesday night around 9:10pm. It was packed we didn't get seated until 25 minutes later. Our waiter then came 5 minutes later introduced herself and took our order. I'm not sure if it was lack of staff but the wait for our drinks and food was extremely long. We received our drinks 25 min later than our meal 40 minutes later. When my food arrived it accidentally tip over and fell so our server had to go to the kitchen and ask for my meal to be remade. The biscuits where cold our first batch. I think I'm being a little kind with 3 stars but the food is pretty tasty. It's the service where this place really suffers. I tried Olive Garden first (where the service is really good, better than a lot of "regular" restaurants I've been to. The wait was 20 minutes today (Sunday about 1pm) so we walked right over to Red Lobster. The Lobster Dip is good, most of us liked the Stuffed Mushrooms, I had a good Shrimp & Lobster Linguine... the wife and kid shared a pound of crab... and they liked it, but there were no shell crackers served with it. I asked for a couple so that they didn't have to use their teeth to crack the crab leg shells. Waiter said he would look for some. This is Red Lobster. You would think they would give you the shell crackers automatically here. Kind of frustrating. Almost every time we needed something, we had to wait 5 to 10 minutes until someone who worked here looked our way. Love this location! The hostess and the bartender, Melissa, are so kind to our group every time we come here. Great courteous and professional service. We sit in the bar area, it's always clean, comfy and the background music makes you want to sing along. They also have the televisions on ESPN so I can keep up with US Open and other sports. Some of my coworkers and I always get the soy salmon bowl or the shrimp bowl, the fried fish, the shrimp Alfredo, the chocolate cake, and everyone is happy. Came in on Saturday with my son for lunch. Our server Ameara was very attentive. I like that this location is very spacious. We ordered the Create Your Own Ultimate Feast. This is a sharable meal. For my wife's first mother's day I ordered Red Lobster at 3pm and the ASAP option said 3 hours. I figured okay its a holiday so instead of for lunch we will have it for dinner. I arrived at 6pm to total chaos including a long line out the door. My order was not ready until 7pm even though it was promised at 6pm. So to clarify it took 4 hours to make my order. Our waitress Melissa was on point. She checked in on us often enough. For a chain restaurant this place was better than I remember. The last time we went to Red Lobster thy automatically gave you a salad with your entree, not anymore, that costs you the customer more if you want salad. Hubby got the Maine and Rock Lobster tails, both were cooked perfectly I got the trio of shrimp, lobster tail and salmon all the proteins were cooked perfectly. Decided to try out one of the newer featured items on the menu. Not the boil but new sauce for crab legs. I'll start by saying the sauce was excellent. I had old bay and parmesan. Im more disappointed in the portion. If I'm paying $42 id assume id get at least 1lb of crab legs and maybe because i got the meatier legs it only came with one unsure but i was disappointed for the price. And one leg was missing upon arrival but I digress. I think competitively they should relook at their prices for the portion because they could knock off $5. I'm a big linguine fan, it was creamy and i enjoyed it. The shrimp and scallops were buttery and tasty, I wasn't crazy about the crispy shrimp. They were nice and crunchy but oily and the sauce was a little too spicy for my liking. My partner had the soy salmon bowl, he gave it a 6.5 out of 10. As always their unlimited biscuits are 10 out of 10. Food is very salty and high in calories, so this isn't food I'd eat often. Overall, all seemed cleaned. A few months ago, I visited this location and had a bad dining experience. I was emailed by RL customer service and invited back to make things right. Today, I decided to make that visit. Our waitress, Tabitha has been working for RL for 20 years. She greeted us with a warm, genuine smile and a friendly attitude that immediately made us feel welcome. She made excellent suggestions and paid attention to detail. She checked in with us often and was a burst of positive energy. She made this experience incredibly pleasant. While there, we met her manager, Mr. Patrick Louis. He was warm, professional and seemed like the perfect choice for his position. Beat the church crowd here. Going in with low expectations, the food was average for a seafood chain restaurant. Nothing stood out. What prevented this from being an average 3 star rating was that the whole place smelled. If it smelled fishy or like bad seafood, it would make sense. As soon as we walked in, it smelled like feet or garbage. I thought it was in my head, but my group confirmed it. Usually I see this much oil when I reheat my pasta from the restaurant like a day after it was made because the butter/oil starts separating from the rue. It's very normal when reheating pasta and something tells me they knew this. The food generally was not good overall and the waiters and bus people have SO MUCH attitude. The busboys came and dropped food off and based on restaurant operations I've experienced, I would think that they try to take some empty plates with them as they went back to the kitchen to keep the table light and not cumbersome. they just left everything and walked back with empty trays as the table was full of the starter & bread plates. I also raised my hand, the bus boy looked at me and walked off toward the kitchen. I nonetheless asked to see if they could give me something else instead of the pappardelle and they said I ate too much to return it. Personally, there wasn't much more pasta that came with that meal. Irrespective, the fact that the meal was visibly a mess would have warranted them trying to do something to compromise instead of leaving me with the disastrous plate for me to take a photo of. I would recommend not getting the lobster pappardelle , or anything with asparagus or broccoli. My grand Aunt said it seemed like they didn't even put them into pots for them to even cook for a few minutes and instead just ran them under hot water.The veggies are undercooked and everything else is cooked too much. The calamari was over salted. The stuffed mushrooms were good. The coconut shrimp was good. No one finished their meal. I'm in NYC every month at least 2 weekends and If this is a symbol of what New York service is coming to, I don't want it.
