I always get the teriyaki shrimp it's amazing and they salmon and teriyaki shrimp with butter sauce and teriyaki sauce

Stop by this place because I wanted a fish sandwich and it was the nearest place. The entry to the place is a little dark could use my lighting, but the setup is like a buffet, the server is very nice and pricing is very reasonable and it's pretty organized as far ordering your meal than paying. The fish sandwich was okay. I might go again just check out something else to eat. read more

The food is cooked after you order and it's fresh and delicious. Wouldn't think there is a spot in Brownsville that would have good food, seafood at that. Their green tea is good also. read more

Food is tasty but the neighborhood isn't the greatest. If you call for a pickup bring someone with you. There is no parking.

I love their seafood plates & honey wings! They make my order quickly every time & give me exactly what I ask for. Sometimes this store does get packed with a lot of customers and orders but that's because the food is so good. read more

Oh... Em... Gee!!!!!! I am from Georgia, and we have some good chicken and fish down in the south. However, this may be the greatest fish EVER. EVER. EVER. The best food I had when I went on my New York excursion is at this nice little restaurant in a small part of Brooklyn. Love LOVE LOVE the food here~! read more

I was looking for a spot that served rice (not Caribbean/Chinese) and came across Pitkin Seafood. The line was long so I knew it was a sign the food was good. This spot is now my go-to. In addition to seafood combos, they offer chicken combos and you can substitute rice with fries or any other side you like. Oh and call ahead to get your order. Like I said, the lines do get long and I do not think they deliver. read more

I was not a fan of the food here. My boyfriend and I were working in the area and needed to grab lunch. We saw that this place had four stars so we thought we'd be good. We got the shrimp with flounder with bbq sauce with rice and veggies and the crabmeat balls on the side. The veggies weren't fresh and it was just fried fish and shrimp doused in some bbq sauce (not cooked in it). The sauce overpowered the food. And the crabmeat balls were just a bad idea. I should have known that but I was starving and obviously was not thinking straight. read more

I'm confused...I see this restaurant have a 4 star rating and I'm trying to understand, why?!?! This was my first and last time eating at this restaurant. All I ordered Fish and Chips. You may ask "how'd an order as simple as that turn out to be disastrous?" It turned out to be a disaster because it reminded me of Gordon's Fisherman fish out of the bag, which is ok, realistically, it's a fast paced environment so I get that they may use faster methods of making food to get rid of the crowd. But when you use frozen fish...you shouldn't re-fry the fish! When you re-fry, it's no longer flaky and in this case, it's no longer white on the inside of the fish...it's almost brown. Secondly, I asked them for a condiment cup so That i could put hot sauce in the cup and he told me they didn't have anymore, it was only 12:30 PM and they ran out, meanwhile he just gave me a cup with tartar sauce. I don't like the hot sauce in the pack and he gave me at least ten of them thinking that would help the situation, ok, I didn't say anything about that, I just "attempted" to pay for my food so I could catch a cab home to eat my food. When they swiped my card, their machine wasn't working...at least on their end it wasn't, but on my end it was! It was definitely taken out of my account. I still didn't say nothing, I just showed them my bank account proving that I was charged. Finally, I catch my cab, get home to try this food that I went through such a big hassle for, and it was terrible. When they showed me the food after it was prepared, it appeared to be fresh as it was piping hot when they opened the tray. IT WAS DRY, NOT FLAKY, NOT WHITE, Basically it was re-fried. I attempted to eat the fish and I couldn't take the dryness of the fish. my mom was choking on her fish. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that you can not microwave, re-fry, reheat or use any other shortcuts for preparing whiting, as the fish is too thin!! I called the restaurant back and spoke with Joseph and told him my issue and was told to come back with the food, I guess to prove that the fish was dry, flaky and not white. I explained to him that I don't live near by and I just took a cab there and back (because some one referred me, thanks a lot Kim!!) just for the food. So I was told to hold the food until the next time I come up there and show it to them. I told Joseph that I will stop by tomorrow with the proof that the fish was old. At that point, I figured that I'd prove it to my yelp family as well. What I'm upset about is the customer service. They weren't the friendliest in the first place and the food was terrible. All of these businesses are placed in poverty stricken neighborhoods and they serve whatever they feel like serving because no one ever says anything publicly, we normally go up to the business and place our complaints that's normally swept under a rug by adding an additional crab stick our meals!! I'm posting this so that the restaurant won't attempt to do this to another customer. Thanks for reading everyone! read more

I'm a regular here even though I live 20 minutes away. I always get the salmon combo. The fish is tasty and well cooked. The shrimp is also really good. I love the rice! I'm not a rice person but theirs is so flavorful. I recommend calling in advance if you're picking up because the wait time is pretty long and it's gets super crowded in their tiny store. They also just started taking credit cards (about time) I believe you have to spend atleast $10 to use your card. I'll definitely keep coming the food is too good to stay away read more

The food is good but the salmon portions are too small for the price.. if your gonna sell a small piece of expensive fish cut the price back by $2-3 , if not take another piece of fish in cut in half and split betwwwn two ppl so no complaints. There becoming like the Chinese give you way more rice then anything else on the plate. Won't return don't like to feel like I'm being robbed read more

This restaurant is disgusting. Their food is old. I ordered basa fish with rice and veggies and the fish was fake basa. It had a foul smell. Went straight in the garbage. I don't know what type of business they are running but this is not a legitimate business. read more

Ive been here a couple times, so this makes it my 3rd. The Grilled Salmon and shrimp was cooked to perfection, veggies sauted to my liking, with a Iced tea,and lemonade mix. Overall this place is a repeat for a definite return. read more

9/01/ 2020 was the last time I will ever visit this establishment..... dont need another urgent care visit

I really keep trying to give this place a try but lately I've been consistently disappointed. This is a neighborhood staple and I've been coming here for the better of about 5+ years. I'm not sure if it's because the establishment has became popular and the foot traffic has doubled as to why the food has been a disappointment to me lately or what but they need to get it together. The menu options are good as they offer an array of seafood combos, fried food and wings . I usually get the same thing so my review is based on that. Yesterday I ordered my usual, the chicken and shrimp teriyaki combo with rice and veggies. I SPECIFICALLY asked for the shrimp not to be over cooked.....what did I get in return? You guessed it OVER COOKED, rough and tough shrimp. Ive also noticed that the teriyaki sauce seems a bit saltier than usual so I couldn't fully enjoy my food. read more

One customer came into the store livid. He saw a cook go outside with his gloves on, open a gate, pick up garbage from the ground, and go back inside to cook. The young man at the register is rude and always rushed, they answer the phone before taking in person orders, and there are too many incidents of unsanitary practices being seen by customers. When they first opened up, I thought they finally will have a healthier alternative to the other local fare, but over time it's become another business serving scraps because they believe we'll pay for it. We need to prove them wrong by reporting them to health department and demand quality service. read more

I got the teriyaki seafood combo with salmon . It comes with scallops mussels salmon veggie rice and broccoli and carrots. Everything was good and well cooked. Well seasoned and flavored. Except the salmon it was dry and over cooked. And very fresh tasting i didn't like it and that was the part i was looking forward to eating but other than that the blend of flavors was good. read more

Cheap and fast. My only complaint is that they don't deliver or offer a partner service that can deliver to you . I eat here at least once every two weeks so it's annoying that you actually have to go to Pitkin Ave. Work on delivery or partner service! read more

I had the tilapia shrimp combo and my boyfriend had honey spicy chicken wings. Seasoned perfectly and the fish was so tender and fresh... The chicken was "smackin'" as my boyfriend said. Pitkin Seafood - Tilapia shrimp combo with green tea iced tea - Seafood Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Maybe people love this place for the steamed seafood, because it did look great (from the orders I saw as I waited for my order). Found this place on yelp, although I've driven by hundreds of times before without noticing it, because Bed Stuy Fish Fry (on Halsey) surprisingly went up on their prices, from 2 days ago when I got lunch there! If it's fried seafood that I'm looking for, and the choices are Pitkin Seafood or BSFF, I'm going to have to pay the higher prices at BSFF. I ordered the fried whiting with shrimp, crab sticks & fries. What a waste. The fish wasn't fresh, it tasted like boxed whiting. The crab sticks were slightly bigger than a mini slim jim. The shrimp were okay. The steak fries were soggy. I'll never come here again for fried seafood, but if I'm in the neighborhood I may try the steamed options. read more

I always get grilled shrimp with fries. I love their shrimp it's so good! My mom likes to order honey wings, but I personally think that they cook them a little to hard. However, its still good! This place is always busy but I guess you get your food in a timely manner. read more

I like getting the grilled tilapia with a honey ginger glaze, which comes with white rice and mixed vegetables. It's a healthy but tasty alternative to all the other fried seafood options on the menu, in a neighborhood where Crown Fried Chicken restaurants outnumber all other types of establishments.* *edited because people are trolling me, getting super defensive about Crown Fried. Which, in my opinion, makes the driest, most tasteless chicken ever. Not even worth defending. Maybe someone should defend the chickens from getting slaughtered to become mediocre food. read more

If I'm in Brownsville I'm eating here! The prices are unheard of for seafood and the service is impeccable. And there's something about being serviced by men. I'll take it! Food is good but stopped eating here because the restaurant has a B grade. And anyone that knows or works at a restaurant knows a B is horrible to have as a health grade. It was all good until it wasn't. I went here yesterday to buy my usual grilled shrimp and veggies with rice. And add always I paid with cash. The young boy at the counter with dark hair and black glasses, took my $50, and my total was $8.70. He takes my money and gives me $41.30 back, however, he gives me one fake $20. It felt fake, it looked fake and I put it up to the light and there wasn't a watermark! I tell the boy, "this is fake I don't want it" And this is where it got crazy. He started laughing!! Yes laughing!! So I said , I don't know why the hell is so funny to you but give me a real $20. Then another worker comes over ,he takes the $20 and h starts laughing too and says, "it's real". That's when I got heated. So I said "I don't know what kinda sh!t you 2 are pulling in here but nothing is funny and give me my money!" The boy gave me another $20 that was real, but I couldn't believe they are trying to pass off fake money in this place. Anna he pulled the $20 from the bottom of the register. Where they do that at? I will be reporting them to the BBB. read more

I love this place. They have breakfast until 11- breakfast sandwiches, bagels muffins and they have turkey bacon for the non-pork eating folks! Everything is fresh so like I said in "tips,"expect to wait a little. It's definitely worth it. I haven't ventured over here past breakfast but my boyfriend comes often and has never had any complaints about their food. They have a variety of juices and I love their coffee. I'd come here before Starbucks any day: regular coffee comes with cream and sugar and it's exactly how I would make it. If you don't like it that way then when they ask if you want regular, make sure you say no and let them know how you want it. Also the service is great and employees are very friendly. Definitely a gem among these few blocks of Pitkin. CASH ONLY!!!!!! So come prepared. read more

The food is soooo yummy I ordered off of Uber eats the other day; I love seafood so I said why not give this a try. Some of the best crab legs I've ever had seasoned very well and you get a cluster for 12$, the honey hot wings, shrimp, crab legs and scallop deal is amazing as well. My first time eating here. I ordered tilapia/shrimp and veggies. Then another order of shrimp, rice and veggies. The service was ok, nothing special. I saw a sign that said cash only. Saw everyone before me pay with cash. So I asked an employee behind the counter is it cash only and he said you have a card? I said yes and he said we can take your card. A customer heard and said since when you take cards and he said either said since last night or last week with a smirk on his face. Then he pulled the machine from under the counter and took my card. So I don't know what's up with that and why it's such a secret and how they pick and choose who can use their debit/credit card. But, I'm definitely going to be checking my account to see if any funny business is going on. The food was good and flavorful though. The tilapia is very hearty but, the shrimp is small and could be of better quality. read more

When I first found this place two years ago, I was super-excited! I had just come to work in the area and fish places like this were hard to find. At first, the food was delicious and I loved the way the fish was broiled to perfection. But, lately, the place seems to have gone down in food quality. I don't know if the crowd causes them to rush and cut corners or they cut back on seasoning because lately the veggies have become quite bland and the fish, not as tasty as it used to be. The food is OK... But, at this point. Its Hit or miss... Sometimes you score a winning plate, sometimes you don't. I find that you do get excellent food... as long as you visit when its not crowded... Which is quite rare. read more
