The food here is fresh and flavorful good portions for the price. Family friendly. There's a bar when you walk in to your left so if you're just looking to hang for a drink it's positioned perfectly away from the dining area. It's not a place to go wild but you can certainly pre game there. The service was quick and the servers were friendly except for one young lady. I dined in with my kids and sister. The place is also clean looking unlike many of the Brooklyn crab shack places that have more of a Chinese takeout vibe. Like you can actually eat inside here and not feel bad for yourself. I'm going to keep it short and sweet. Found this place on yelp Seen the reviews I want seafood let's try it out. It's Saturday night the spot is empty, one other party there. I ordered appetizer and a spoil, husband ordered the rice boil. The food came before the app..and when it came it had this smell to it like mop water..I think I came from the butter because that's what the garlic bread smelled like. Do not try the house blend sauce its nasty whoever likes that sauce please delete your yelp. We ordered wings for the app. The wings were something out of the box. I got the crawfish and shrimp boil with house blend flavor and my husband got the seafood rice with Cajun seasoning. I've had boils before and even though the seafood have shells on it, flavor does penetrate inside but with this place the flavor didn't go inside and I had to add salt to the sauce as well. As for the seafood rice, I was expecting a fried rice bowl with all the ingredients mixed in like at other boil places but the seafood and vegetables were on top of white rice. I have ordered several times from here and it's hit or miss. But when it's bad, it's really bad. I've spoken to them about it and showed them the picture. They gave me extra legs the following time, which were ok. But it keeps happening. The legs should crack, not bend. That's how you know they're semi-fresh. These had no crack left in them! Ugh! The photos are from separate occasions. The 2nd photo is just from today! I even reminded them on the phone to please make sure they were fresh. I will never go back! read more

Okay I will be honest I mistakenly thought this place was an extension of the place in white planes called Holy Crab. Don't ask me why i thought that but i did. Service was nice and pleasant. No alcohol yet. The Food I ordered the oysters raw, it was great!! you only get 6 for 12 bucks i ordered 2 I ordered the mac and cheese - not ever again. I thought it was home made but it was basically box with too much water, no seasoning at all. I ordered the shrimp head off ( can't do the head) with snow crab legs, in Cajun Spicy sauce. NO NO NO. I don't like the presentation at all, it comes in this big big bag full of air and your food is at the bottom, they give you these small and medium potatoes uncut in the bag. Sauce is weird, basically it was mostly oil not butter but figured since it was Cajun that's how they do it but my friend got the creamy garlic butter that was mostly oil. So I'm guessing they add a bit of butter for flavor but it's mostly oil. My stomach did not appreciate that at all. The season and spiciness of it was good but the amount of oil your could have changed the oil in a truck, I would come back for the oysters. read more

This is exactly what Ridgewood needed! Went to dine in on a Sunday night and the service was incredible. You can tell the staff is training, they even have a little sign at the washing station to let the customers know. I think that's extremely considerate to not only the patrons but the staff as well. There wasn't an crazy wait time for our food and id there was any type of delay, they were sure to communicate it to us. Now that we have that out of the way. Let's get to the food! Boyyy was that boil delicious!!! I had the garlic butter sauce on mine. Was looking for a seafood place on a busy Saturday night and found this lowkey spot. And I'm glad I did because as much of a fan as I am of The Boil, the quality of the seafood can be mediocre. The shrimp here was bouncy and not over cooked or had that older crumby meat texture. The clams and mussels were also pretty decently cleaned not very much of grit unlike other places I've tried. And for 95$ you're getting your money's worth for the house boil that serves 2-3. They definitely use less butter comparatively but there was so much seafood juices left over that I made a second and third meal out of it. I do wish they used more garlic. The complementary garlic bread for the house boil was also fantastic. Def recommend. Love small businesses like this. P.s. they just got their liquor license. Although as a non drinker, they had virgin colodas (wish they were blended) which was definitely appreciated. read more

Coming in I did not know what to expect as the place was empty. We sat down and we're greeted with very warm service and delicious smells. I ordered the lobster roll and was very impressed (everyone was stealing my fries). The highlight was of course the boils which my brother and his gf ordered. Had I been more hungry I would have done the same as they looked fantastic and were incredibly reasonably priced (less than $10 for a half pound boil!!!) highly recommend, we can't wait to return.
