    Snow Crab Legs

Reply to Business Owner: Hello Jaffa, Thank you for the response. I understand seasoning and heat can affect appearance; however, my concern was not solely discoloration, but the overall quality and texture of the food upon arrival. The crab meat was stuck to the shell (rubbery), the mussels lacked freshness and texture, and the sausage was unusually rubbery--issues that go beyond presentation or residual heat. I shared my experience honestly based on the meal I received. While I appreciate the offer to resolve it had I called, posting a review reflects my experience as a customer ordering delivery, which is a service you offer. Unfortunately, this order did not meet the standard I expected based on my experience. I'm glad to hear you're open to addressing concerns directly, and I hope future delivery orders are more consistent. -------------------- My Initial Review: I "really" wanted to enjoy this meal, especially since I've ordered from here before via Uber Eats and decided to give it another try. Unfortunately, the food quality was disappointing. The snow crab legs had gray shells, and the meat was stuck to the shell, rubbery, and lacked freshness. The mussels were deep orange in color, had no real texture, and some were actually dry, which made them unpleasant to eat. The sausage was also very rubbery--I had to bite hard just to get through it. Flavor alone couldn't make up for the overall texture and freshness issues. This may be a place that's better enjoyed in person, but based on my experiences, the seafood does not seem to travel well for delivery. I truly wanted this to be a satisfying meal, but unfortunately it missed the mark.

Brandon provided truly exemplary service from start to finish. He was attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations that took the whole meal to the next level. The food was spot on, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, and the ambience made the entire experience even better. Shaking Crab Williamsburg definitely exceeded expectations. We'll absolutely be back!

I was planning to go eat at the restaurant but ended up didn't go because I was sick, so I order delivery instead. Food came on time but somehow it leaked so bad outside the bag. I got Twin Lobster Tails: for the price, I feel it a bit higher price than another Cajun restaurant, plus it is kind of small. Snow Crab Legs: is good but I expected the sauce to be more spicy than oily. Overall, the food is good. I wish I could go to eat at the restaurant. It would be better.

The food was delightful! 10/10 Get the spicy seafood boil! The flavors were sooo good! I do not like clam chowder at all! It's usually watery and gross! This clam chowder however was Amazing!!! I'm glad it was on the prefix menu because otherwise I wouldn't get it! 5 stars The drinks we had were the: FISHERMAN PUNCH (blue drink) KINGSTON PUNCH Both were strong BUT I'm a sucker for a sorrel mix so the Kingston Punch was my favorite! Pleaseeee get the mac and cheese! I was stuffed and still ate that whole thing!

Super amazing! The server Brandon, top notch! Our first time trying and he's just the best. Explained the whole menu and gave us his own personal input. Food is amazing and I couldn't give anymore grace. Love it

I used to go to the shaking crab uptown when I worked in Manhattan, and it was the best service, food, ambiance period everything was great period I tried some of the other locations and they didn't quite measure up. So my fingers were crossed today when I came to this location. First off, It's not in Williamsburg. It's really Bushwick conveniently located on Flushing Avenue, I was able to find parking right out front and walked into one of the best musical playlists I've heard in a while. All of the music was appropriate for all ages, played at a respectable level: hip-hop, Soca, r&b, pop, and reggae! The space is small but accommodating, with incredibly friendly staff. The food is decent, as are the drinks, many notably Caribbean and Brooklyn themed. Happy hour is even available on Saturdays! (classic drinks are not included) Now to the food. Portions are lacking for some of the combos (i went with the Royal), precisely those with king crab how where the size of the snow and king so close? Especially when they were close to the same size! There is were about 10-12 peel, and eat shrimp (med - lrg size). In the mix as well, was one reg sized snow crab claw, one small king crab leg. A single slender leg. The food is boiled without seasoning and tossed into a bag together, after the fact. Its painfully obvious in the potatoes (mushy) and corn (sour), as they were overcooked and lacking good flavor. I ended up tossing the corn as it tasted off. Dipping the seafood in the sauce worked fine, and I stuck to just that. Aside from all of this, the thing that caught me of guard was the mandated 20% gratuity, plus tax, made a $62 meal $80. If I return, it will be for a very different combo and likely drinks.

Food was delicious and fresh ambiance was nice, place is small but cozy. Staff was very attentive and accommodating. It's the type of place you would like to stay awhile. I went to happy Hour with a friend and the drinks were on point with a nice price point. They even have dessert sold separately. A little pricy but for seafood it's worth it.

Very nice location, away from the busyness of the city but not too far where it's a burden to drive. The food was amazing the drinks took you to a place in the islands...Jaffer's recommendation was spot on. When you come and I say come give them a try... bring an empty belly , here are the things I had STARTER -fried pickles DRINK -Kingston Punch BOIL -seafood galore

Gluten Free!! This place is amazing very coast spot and great for celiac people and their friends as almost everything if not everything is gluten free! We had the Jumbo jumbo's with sausage and Barlic sauce. It was tasty and more than enough for 2. You are able to choose the level of heat you prefer. We also enjoyed fries and the Margs were *chef's kiss*. No but for real even if you're not into shell fish you need these margs!! All in all the ambience the owner and the staff were amazing helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. P.S. I would also recommend going for brunch as well!

The food was good (not exceptional) for the price. The service was good, and the playlist was amazing. BEWARE a party of two was automatically add a gratuity of 20% tip. To our surprise with the high prices the tip was $37.40. Our waiter was good but at that price did he help cook the seafood? He said "it was on the menu" please look closely it must have been in fine print - we didn't notice. For smaller parties (like 2 guests), it's less common, but still legal if clearly communicated BEWARE.

I agree with a previous Yelpers review. This place is SUPER EXPENSIVE. Almost appalling to the eye and I definitely felt like I overpaid. This location is relatively new. My husband loves "Shaking Crab" and this is right by our place so that was super convenient to not have to travel far for it. For starters our server was amazing. She was super sweet and attentive and went over the menu with us. I will say "Alaskan King Crabs" are on the menu but they're out of season. So if you're coming here soon, don't anticipate that because they don't have it. We visited 04/20/2022. I ordered lemon pepper wings for $13 and to my surprise it was 4 chicken wingettes meaning only 4 drums at $3.25 a piece. That's absolutely absurd. They really need to change the price on that asap, that's way over retail and inflation cost in general. The virgin Pineapple coral is $8. It's not an alcoholic drink and priced super high. That small cup should not cost more than $4 especially since it's mostly ice. I don't eat seafood but they had a small selection of out of sea menu and they didn't have much out of it at the restaurant itself aside the wings, mac n cheese and garlic noodles. I ordered all of those things which were decent but the Mac n cheese was super bland. I ordered a side of shaking sauce for $6 (Yikes) that too is expensive for a side sauce but that actually made the food more pleasant to eat. Service great Food good Price? Not worth it. Will I be back? No! Not unless king crabs are in season and available for hubby but other than that, it's just way too costly. Super Small dinner was $172.

    Be seafood. Large portion!

Right off the bat, the bar area is absolutely gorgeous and meets you with so much warmth, light and joy as soon as you walk in to this establishment. I plopped myself on the bar and had the pleasure of making conversation with Elouise and Alejandra. They put in my standard two dozen oyster order and paired my platter with a glass of the happy hour white wine which happens to be their house chardonnay. The oysters were delicious although I must say there was a lot of shell pieces inside, which was very annoying to eat. I don't think this is necessarily the fault of whoever is shucking them. I noticed the oysters they serve have a lot of thin slivers of shell on the edges which are bound to end up in your mouth. Perhaps they can try serving another variety of oysters? Just a thought. The chardonnay was pretty good and service was amazing. The girls at the bar also let me try the Ten Bells red wine which is produced specially for them in Boudreaux, France. It was a beautiful, light, and smooth red blend. As a wine lover, I will definitely be back to try more of their wines on tap. This is a great neighborhood establishment that I feel everyone should pop in and visit!!

Our server did an excellent job explaining the origin of the oysters as well as the specials of the day. The West Coast oysters were Kumamoto (California), while the East Coast selection were called Bad Boys (from Nova Scotia, Canada). Normally I'm a big fan of West coast oysters, but the Bad Boys were delicious! They were plump with a bold ocean brine & crisp finish. It was disgusting . I'm certain they very rarely change their frying oil. Even whilst eating the inside with cheese I couldn't even enjoy it as all I tasted was old oil . When I got home i tried the tostones to see if it was better and it was worst . Just the worst I've ever had again plagued with the stale oil disease . The arroz con pollo isn't even worth discussing . This is the opposite of finesse . It's shredded chicken ( quite dry ) mixed in with the rice and veggies and two slabs of plantains on top for looks . The fried plantains helped a lot on masking the dryness and yuckiness of this meal . This was certainly not worthy of the calorie intake at all. I've had this same meal at other Ecuadorian restaurants and this was easily the worst . The portion size was huge though if that matters . It's amazing how many people I saw coming in and getting food while waiting for my order . Maybe I'm in the minority but I swear my experience was a waste of 20+ dollars .
