A small local yet very antiquated American diner that offers simple and budget conscious meals known for breakfast and brunch. This small diner's interior is frozen in time of appearance with the standard booth tables, retro metal bar stools bolted to the ground with upholstered seat, white coffee mug wall clock with a moving silver spoon pendulum, wall attached three coffee mugs with steam emitted each imprinted words representing "cappuccino, coffee, latte." I like admiring their coffee mug clock and the three wall coffee mugs. 101 Cafe fends the standard small Mom and Papa business servicing the Southwest Queens, NYC community of Ozone Park. The breakfast menu is extensive yet very simple but a package. Yes, ice cream sodas and milk shakes with one or two scoops of actual ice cream continues to exist here for a throwback to 1910 era. I opt for one egg (any style), three sausages, home fries, toast with butter (jam is given as an option), small juice (apple, orange or cranberry), coffee or tea all inclusive for $7.75. I did not have to wait too long of an eternity for my order to arrive at the table. The female waiter appears baffled as I arrived alone to dine alone... oh well, that is my life now! Service is adequate, attentive and efficient. Patrons' bills are hand written on a "guest check" order pad which adds further to the non-technology 2017 era and rang on a old fashioned manual cash register. Delivery is available. No alcohol. Minimal TV screens are blaring and no annoying boisterously loud background music. Note: Closed Sundays year round. read more

Food was excellent, service was very good. 3 stars only because they overcharged what was their menu price for eggs and onions. The menu said a single egg sandwich with ham and cheese was $5 and the check was for $9.50. $1 extra for a croissant, which was ok since this charge was established prior to ordering. $1 for sautéed onions, seems a bit high, $1 up-charge because egg prices are high now, even though not shown on menu, unknown what the extra $1.50 was for. He removed the 50 cents. I left a 20% tip even though was overcharged to show it's not the money but the principle of the situation. You cant just charge more than what is advertised because your expenses are higher. Not only is that illegal, but is immoral. Most people don't pay attention to their bills so they get away with taking advantage of their customers. We really enjoyed the food so it's a shame that we won't go back. read more

First time coming here and I absolutely loved it! I'm all for supporting local businesses in my community and this one did not disappoint. Our first impression when my grandma & I walked in was how CLEAN the place was. It felt comfortable, cozy, and inviting, which you wouldn't expect off first glance outside due to how simple their signage is. The man who serviced us (possibly the owner?) was very kind and accommodating. He was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. The food portions were huge for the price and the tastes are that of a classic diner done exactly right. Also, the coffee was excellent! I went in for breakfast and I already can't wait to go back for lunch/dinner some time. So happy to have found a great spot like this nearby. 10/10 can't wait to visit again! read more

This is my boyfriend and I's usual breakfast place on weekends. Whether It's delivery or eat in. The food is regular diner food, tastes yummy, cheap, and good service. I love their pancakes. My only complaint is the lack of variety but it's truly a small mom and pop joint. Also, delivery is never more than 35 minutes. Win. --- UPDATE: still going strong with this diner being my trusty breakfast joint. I love their homemade muffins and their friendly service. That's what really keeps customers coming back. So, I had decided to order 101 cafe pretty much everyday for breakfast/lunch. I'm not a sophisticated person when it comes to food, I typically order the same thing. There is usually the same gentleman that takes my order every day, but today it was a lady who barely speaks English. I order my normal grilled cheese sandwich with a small cup of marinara on the side. After paying the guy (my fault), I look at the receipt and see I was charge $3 for marinara sauce. I look in the bag and see I was given literally a coffee cup full of marinara sauce. Really? I call back and speak to the guy who I normally order with. He asks me what I order, and I tell him I ordered the SAME thing I order. He tells me that's not what I ordered, I must have asked for something else. Really? Why would I need a COFFEE cup FULL of marinara sauce for a small grilled cheese sandwich??? After a minute or so of arguing over a $3 cup of sauce that this guy clearly knows I didn't order, I ended the call. It's unfortunate that this company wants to lose this office's business over a mistake they made. read more

The also have a sign that says CASH ONLY but then they have VISA, MC & Discover stickers on the register. Just incase you're confused, they DO take cards.
