I'm giving Red Lantern 5 stars because a) I'm really picky with Chinese food, and b) this place delivers! We often get food delivered to my work when we don't have time to go out for lunch, and this place never disappoints. Their food is never overly oily or salty, and I don't ever get that post-MSG sleepiness, so I know that they're true to their word about not using MSG in their dishes. A few dishes that we find ourselves ordering all the time are the paper wrapped chicken, the shrimp fried rice (made spicy, with extra onions), the steamed vegetables (with spicy garlic sauce), the egg drop soup, and the house crispy orange chicken. I really enjoy the flavors and how fresh everything tastes. If you're in the area and you're looking for a good Chinese spot, especially one that delivers, try this place out. read more

Five stars because of the speed they delivered the food, how thorough they were when taking my order, and how good the food tasted (even reheated :D) I think we ordered on a Saturday night and it was kind of late, maybe 9:20pm. The lady on the phone was great, she even gave me some suggestions. She didn't just suggest 'oh get this people like it' she thought it out and gave suggestion based on what I had ordered so far. She was very patient with me and as I said before thorough. As I said before delivery was FAST. I ordered, putzed around on the computer, used the bathroom, washed my hands, went into the kitchen to get a beer and heard someone coming up the stairs, then the bell rang. The restaurant is almost 2 miles from where I live... so I was impressed. I ordered the beef chow fun, chicken fried rice, chicken and broccoli, orange chicken and steamed rice came with the order free with a hand full of fortune cookies. I would diffinetly reorder the chicken and broccoli, chow fun. The fried rice sorta seemed like any other, not bad, but might try another rice dish. The orange chicken was good, bit I didn't eat much of it, it was for the GF. Im sure they have some good food but unfortunately i got some from this place that was just downright awful. Thought i would try their highly advertised orange chicken and on the first bite i thought i bit into maybe a bad nugget. Tried a different one and again i bit into a dry, tough, membrane filled piece of "chicken". I dont throw out food sfter a few bites so i fought on and after a few more tries i couldnt do it anymlre. It was disgusting and i never had to chew so hard on chicken before. Next was the pork chow mein. The flavor was ok, but the texture was very slimy. I managed to have a quarter of it with just the noodles. The pork however was also very tough. Maybe i came at the wrong time and they served me the last of the batch. However, I ordered a delivery order tonight, Wednesday, online and waited literally almost 2 hours and 45 minutes to get any answers on my order which had not arrived yet. Even went so far as asking the establishment for the drivers number and had to track driver down myself and was lied to three times as to location and then lied to again as to time of arrival. This is truly the worst Chinese Restaurant I have ever been to. The food was terrible and the service wasn't any better. One of us ordered Kung Pao three flavor and it really should be renamed Kung Pao onion. There was very little of anything else. I had ordered teriyaki chicken which was made with all dark meat chicken. Normally tender, this chicken was stringy, chewy and dry. I couldn't even eat it. I ordered extra teriyaki sauce and it really didn't help. I left most of it on the serving plate and didn't even finish what was on my plate. When the server asked if I wanted a to go box, I told him no, that it was so dry I couldn't even eat it. He really didn't even seem to care, it may be something he hears frequently. This same server had brought a knife to the table when I requested it and as he was walking towards me I could see him wiping off the blade of the knife with his fingers. WTH??? Even if we weren't still in a pandemic it's a disgusting thing to do. The bathroom was also absolutely filthy. read more

Today was my first time ever. I've been looking for some amazing Chinese that isn't Panda Express or Pick Up Stix. We ordered our food for take out but shortly after I wish we hadn't. We had such excellent service while we waited. The guy at the front was friendly and gave us hot tea on the house while we waited. Our food was out shortly after finishing our first cup and he encouraged us to stay to finish the pot. How often does that happen?! After getting home, the portions and the prices are so worth it. AMAZING I was told to allow 30 to 45 and the food was delivered in 24, Awesome. Food generous portions and tasty. Did the Honey glazed walnut shrimp which was absolutely fabulous and the Sweet and Sour check which my wife loved (i am not a sweet and sour fan) and the egg drop soup which was both Tasty and still hot from delivery. Our office decided to try this place, even though they've only been open for a week - we thought we'd brave it out and hope for the best. And boy were we pleasantly surprised! Located in typical corner strip mall, this Chinese restaurant seems to be a hidden gem. We tried a couple of lunch specials and they were REALLY GOOD! I played it safe and ordered the Chicken Chow Mein with Brown rice. My boss tried the Kung Pao Chicken with Fried Rice. We both agreed our food was very fresh & tasty. The Kung Pao was definitely spicy so you may want to order it on the mild side if you can't hang with Spicy! You can definitely tell that your food came from a restaurant and not a fast food joint! The egg rolls were a little greasy but both soups (egg drop & hot/sour soup) were delicious. We will be back because the quantity is massive and the lunch special prices are superb! I came on Yelp looking for somewhere new for lunch around the office. I saw Red Lantern and the reviews looked OK so I decided to check it out. Besides, being from Detroit I kinda miss the atypical Chinese Food dining. Most of the reviews are right on, the food is good but not great. Price is good as well ($6-8 for lunch with soup, rice and egg roll). I had the Moo Goo Gai Pan which ended up being pretty tasty. A lot of mushrooms, decent amount of chicken and a few snow peas. I had the egg droup soup (Im addicted to this stuff) and it was pretty good, the peas in it seemed old but otherwise it was pretty good. I would definately go back and would reccomend to anyone who is looking for a relatively quick and average chinese meal. read more

I used to eat here every week for lunch until I had to tighten the budget. I've tried most of their lunch specials and found them to be very good. I especially liked the garlic chicken/shrimp, the kung pao dishes, and the moo goo gai pan. I also really love their egg drop soup but didn't care much for the eggroll. So I ordered $120 worth of food, which is hard to do, and went to pick it up. Just to realize that it was cold and stale.
