0 stars, this place doesn't really need customers apparently as they hang up on them after being incredibly rude

Went to Red Lantern for lunch. We went in and were seated in a booth. The place was busy. Our server came over and took our drink orders. we asked is we could order food to. He took the food order and got out drinks. They do not have a big choice here for drinks. I got an Ice Tea. A little frig in the corner had a few other drinks. Kind of strange. My meal came out with fried rice and an egg roll. My friend just got his rice and waited for the rest of the meal. Again, kind of strange. The rice was not hot. Just warm. The egg roll was just ok. My friends remaining meal came out well after I had started eating. Not sure why this would happen. Everything should come out at once. My Shrimp and Broccoli was good. Not the best just good. The rice was just ok and not hot. The soup was just ok too. The price for lunch special was ok at $7.99 for the food and drinks were cheap. The parking is ok, we had to park only about 10 spaces away from the front door. The place was somewhat clean. The tables were somewhat clean. The air inside was a bit stale. No fans. 3 stars as this place is just ok. read more

Had to give this home delivery a 3 stars because they were really shitty attitude on the phone and rushed the order to get off the phone. I know this was probably their peak time ! Food is good. Chow mein is great. I do have to comment and say to the restaurant, please add tin foil to separate the hot fried foods from the foam take out boxes. The person who delivered my order told me that "next time just pick up the food coz your house is just close. Told him I don't have a car and he told me to walk". God , that guy is so arrogant. My coworkers were supposed to take another coworker out for his last day at our job to Red Robin so he can get a beer but that did t happen because the HRat my work is trash but anywayssssss... we came here instead and they have a 7.99 lunch special that includes an egg roll, choice of rice, and an entree and mannnn this food is delicious. It's more on the authentic side so if you think panda is the best you've ever had, keep going there, you probably think McDonald's is a good burger. Great place to get Chinese food. It's so good and not too greasy. Some places really pile on the grease but Red Lantern is really good about it, even in their fried rice and noodles. I love this place for Chinese. We now love in Anaheim and our first week, I drove back to get Red Lantern because it's that good. They're also so friendly when they deliver, even to my dogs (who are barking) and the delivery guy will just smile and wave to them. read more

Okay, I bumped them up to 4-stars because we finally went back after our phone order debacle, and everything went swimmingly this time. I still fear that this has tainted my view of them a little bit, because I've been going to China Wok Fresh a lot more lately. Their food is very similar (if not a little better) than Red Lantern, and so far their customer service has been exceptional. I'll still come back to Red Lantern for the specialty tofu I can't get anywhere else, like kung pao and cashew. But for ma po tofu and hot and sour soup, might as well go somewhere that's quick, efficient, and is willing to customize the order to suit our tastebuds. read more

Came a few days ago after I found it on Yelp. I've been desperately looking for a new Chinese food place after my favorite closed down. And when I try a new Chinese place, I always try their orange chicken because if their orange chicken isn't any good, then I'm not interested. As it turns out, theirs is super delicious! The sauce is amazing, and the chicken is cooked well. I also really loved their Honey Walnut Shrimp. I look forward to going back and trying more items on the menu! read more

If you're vegan (or just plant-based or vegetarian) I definitely recommend the vegan orange "chicken". It's my go to. Super solid Chinese food. We've been getting delivery from here for years. The prices are good and the food is always delivered super hot, fresh and delicious. Never disappointed. I like this spot. I've ordered take out here twice - one time I picked it up and the second time had it delivered. They are very fast, friendly, and the food was great. I love the egg friend rice and the walnut shrimp. I love how they offer different types of friend rice, too! The sizzling rice soup was alright, the broth could have more flavor, but I still enjoyed it. There menu is pretty extensive and depending on what you order it can be a little pricey. First off, I ordered vegan chicken for myself and sweet and sour chicken for my mama. It wasn't labeled and we couldn't tell the difference. I had my mama try both and she said the orange one had to be vegan since it tasted "funny." I trusted her judgment, tried it myself, and it didn't taste right to me after one bite. I called the place up to ask and it turns out I ate the regular chicken. And after being vegan for three years, you can imagine my stomach did not sit right. My mama and I both ended up nauseous after our meals and had to end up tossing out the rest of our food. And believe us when we say we hate wasting food.
