Jen picked up on the fact I screwed up my order. I ordered the pick any two basket deal. But instead of being smart I picked shrimp twice. In my head it made sense because previously I ordered shrimp and catfish. Felt like I needed a little more shrimp this time instead of fish so I doubled up on shrimp and added two cat fish fillets on the side. Register rang me up perfectly even my specific sauce needs. Jen corrected my mistake refunded the extra money I would've spent by changing my order from a double shrimp (8) to a regular shrimp(8). No one had to do this the business had their money. I later realized my mistake but wanted to avoid conflict didn't want to make anyone work too hard over it. Jen noticed my mistake and as an on-site manager she corrected the problem even though I never gave it a voice. Two days later I'm back. I appreciate that Jen runs an honest ship and I have no complaints about the food. The shrimp is fried one of a kind and they're big. Fish is fantastic not dry not raw batter. I get my sauce exactly as ordered. I'm very pleased with how this restaurant does business I will be back many times. Decided to try this place, instead of my usually go to place.. I can say this place lives up to the reviews. My experience here was great. I got a to go order with crab and shrimp and the red hook flavor which is superb! That flavor features Cajun, garlic butter and lemon pepper I think ... but it was very flavorful.. this location definitely is in my top ten seafood places! The actual seafood was great, and the few pieces of broccoli was crisp and my potatoes were so good.. I could have missed the corn tho.. more potatoes for me. We went to Red Hook on Friday night not knowing they had a D J and loud music. But the food was very good we had oysters. Only problem, we signed in and the hostess told us about 20 mins. So we patiently waited, saw several people leave. Other people signed in. After 25 minutes we noticed people came in after us were seated. We sat right in the corner in front of her . I was greeted by a very young teenager. She seated me promptly as there were many empty tables. The booth seat was worn out. The restaurant did not appear to be particularly clean. If you like fried seafood, this may be the place for you! The fried gator was very nice, crispy breading and tender tasty meat. The shrimp basket was plentiful and seasoned just right. Good sized portions with reasonable prices make this an enjoyable night out. Dining in was not a problem, despite the reduced number of tables to ensure proper social distancing, the wait time was not bad. All staff members are wearing face masks and try to limit interactions with customers but are immediately available as needed. He was AWESOME. Very attentive & was so excited that it was our first visit (and our 30th Anniversary). We got the appetizer sample platter to share & 1/2 pound of sausage. It was average for Cajun dining. The gumbo seemed to be more rice than gumbo. I don't know maybe having gone to Louisiana and eating true Cajun cuisine spoiled me. Also, at least two other tables were seated after us, and got their drinks while we waited for anyone to talk to us.
