I came here last night and got the spicy rice cake again and it wasn't as good as last time and don't get the kimbap its not that good here.

Hot food, sweet and cute waiter. Went with a friend on their Groupon deal. We had a coupon for four, and four hungry people. Plenty of food, decent choices. On Groupon you get choice of 2 dumpling dishes and 2 fried chicken dishes. It comes with salad, pickled radishes, and sauces for pouring/dipping. Pan-fried dumplings won over sweet and sour dumplings, spicy fried chicken = soy sauce chicken. Huge serving sizes, we had plenty of fried chicken to take home. Tip on the total bill amount, and more if you get the K-hunk serving you. He was the highlight of the evening for a table of cougars! read more

My family and I came here for dinner for the first time it everything was excellent. We ordered the fried chicken wings, fish cake soup, and the sampler that included the Kimbob, fried tempura veges, fried dumplings, and the pork blood sausage. Every single item was cooked and prepared to perfection. Portion sizes were very generous and the staff was very friendly. If I remember correctly, the restaurant was under new ownership since approximately 3 years ago and the the new owner quite obviously takes pride in his food read more

Finally, a dream come true! At Red Holic I can indulge in the deliciousness of Korean "street food". The menu is rather extensive, including specials such as donkatsu spicy rice cake dish and house ramen, however my family opts for the crazy looking combo -- yup, that one -- with a side bowl of odeng (fish cake soup) every time and it always leaves us satisfied. The combo consists of mandu (fried dumplings), kimbap (think vegetarian sushi), sundae, assortment of tempura (usually fried carrots, sweet potatoes and seaweed noodle wrap) and ddeokbboki (spicy rice cake). Everything is excellent -- spicy rice cake serves you right with the right amount of spiciness and sweetness, kimbap is fresh and dumplings and sundae are yummy as well. My favorite though is the tempura. They do such a fantastic job of frying their veggies, fresh and hot!!! I just wish they provide some other condiments for sundae because usually sundaes are eaten with dwenjang (bean paste sauce) and/or pepper/garlic/onion slices. I've only visited Red Holic during day time and have had pleasant experiences, but I hear in the evening it gets rather crowded. I would love to try their fried chicken next time. Definitely worth the visit!! read more

Decent Korean street food. I came here recently with my girlfriend and ordered their platter and it was alright. The soondae was probably my least favorite part of the platter, but the highlight was the fried foods and tteokbokki. I'm Korean and we often cook at home so I loathe restaurant tteokbokki, but this one was surprisingly pretty good. Also, whoever is in the kitchen is working wonders with the deep fryer as everything is perfectly crisp. Definitely not the best, but it was a nice date with the girlfriend (she's not Korean so she loves this stuff). My only complaint is that I wish the alcohol selection was bigger because this type of food goes great with it. read more

We took our kids to the Red Holic after purchasing a groupon. The groupon got us our choice of 2 chicken dishes and 2 dumpling dishes plus salads. It was delicious! I was going to order sushi but glad I didn't as it was a lot of food! We will definitely return! read more

I am a Korean in my 30's who grew up eating Boonshik(this style of Korean cuisine appealing to Korean youngsters) and I am from NY(the reason for my mentioning NY is because there are many Boonshik Jip(House)- restaurants alike. In NOVA, there are only two true boonshik jips including this one. I enjoyed going to MyungGa before this one popped up without any notice. Now MyungGa is just an edible restaurant to me. Compared to the ones I used to frequent back in NY, this place is definitely the better boonshik jip with their creative new menu- who would've thought of eating mandu in TangSoo Yook Sauce- that's a very sleek idea. Their Korean Style Fried Chicken is just decent compared to Cheogatjip's. For people who don't know much about Korean style fried chicken, their regular fried chicken is traditional Korean market style chicken (shijang dak) and their Yangnyum Chicken is a little bland compared to Cheogatjip's because there's less garlic in the sauce. Bonchon Chicken? Come on folks, Bonchon is a history in Korea. You guys are still eating Bonchon? We all love Yangnyum Chicken because it's the first kind of Korean style chicken we grew up with, but Bonchon style is a trend in chicken joint. For people who call Kimbap Korean style sushi- here's a histotical fact about the seaweed wrap Gim in Korean and Nori in Japanese. Gim was consumed in Korea as far back as 1400's. during Shilla era and Nori started to be consumed in Japan in 1800's during Edo period. Just because Sushi is more popular worldwide Kimbap does not deserve to be called 'Korean style sushi.' read more

Red Holic is a cute little place. A great place to have dinner with a couple girlfriends after work. My friend and I were surprise that the Soy Chicken at Red Holic was really delicious, crispy, moist, flavorful. Will definite come back. read more

Yummmmm! Get the big appetizer that has everything. It's enough for 3-4 people to share.

I've been here a couple of times, and now whenever I crave Korean street food or desire some delicious chicken, I think of Red Holic. It's a shame this place is somewhat hidden in location. The decor is really adorable, and the staff is friendly. I like how they have a room in the back for big groups in this small restaurant :b. I always order the kimbap and dukbokki platter and Red Holic chicken. The serving sizes are quite large. My friends and I are always able to share with one another while feeling stuffed by the end of the meal. However, in taste I've had better dukbokki and kimbap elsewhere (still good at Red Holic). The chicken though, definitely go for the chicken. Love the radishes as well... anyway, I love those anywhere... Unfortunately the last time I visited Red Holic, the waiter mixed up my table and another's orders and almost paid for them (nearly 2x more, we weren't paying much attention harhar) but it was quickly fixed. I would understand maybe making a mistake if it was busy, but it was a slow Thursday afternoon so.. yeah. Always double check your tabs, people. read more

Decent priced and average tasting Korean food. Saw a lot of items that were kimbap and topokki. Look to their daily specials for the best deal. Cute atmosphere and free coffee is a plus. read more

I've been to redholic multiple times and it was always okay but the recent visit just made me never want to go back. First of all, the place smelled awful like a really dirty bathroom. On top of that, all the utensils were dirty with food residue and stains and all of their plates and bowls were sticky as if it has not been properly washed. I would rather go to mandurang kimbap erang across the street for this type of food. Even though they are a trailer, they dont smell or give me dirty plates. read more

Nice and cozy, good alternative to BonChon if you are craving another Korean style chicken. Chicken was hot and crispy, great dumplings, reasonable price. read more

The food and service was ok. We got a variety of items from the fried dumplings to the ddukboki to the chicken. Each food item was generally seasoned well and was tasty. However, some of the chicken pieces were very dry and tough (mainly the white meat). The spicy and sour sauce was thickly coated on some pieces and almost dry on other pieces. We were expecting better (thus the 3 stars). FYI...this place is not 100% young family friendly place. Since the restaurant requires you to travel down on steps, you can't stroll in a stroller + they only have 1 high chair, which you'll have to wait for if someone has it first. read more

The one waitress with glasses, man you are rude. This person decided to not give us water for 20 minutes, never gave us utensils, and decided to be RUDE. Like I get you're the only one working but you can be nicer to one table and look at us and decide to be rude. Like thanks for the poor service and the food took literally an hour. Not the place to go if you want to be rudely served. read more

Went here on a Sat afternoon. Easy parking. We were greeted promptly and shown our seats. Wait staff was friendly and prompt. The food was pretty good. We ordered the dumplings, which were huge and flavorful. We also had the soy garlic korean fried chicken. I intentionally wanted to try this to see how it measured up to its competitors down the street. The chicken was juicy and nicely crispy. However flavor wise, it didnt come close to beating or matching Mc Chi on flavor. It looked like the sauce was poured on the chicken after it had been cooked, while the other places cooks their flavor in like a candy shell. My companion had the beef bulgogi which came out as a beef dish with a side of rice. Not the hot pot with nicely charred rice I was expecting. Overall the food and experience was good, and you certainly cant beat the portion sizes but in this case I think I value the taste more than the portion sizes. read more

I gave it 3 stars for the atmosphere (warm and cute) and the quick, friendly services. Everything was good except for the chicken. My bf and i ordered half spicy and half fried chicken; it looked yummy but taste horrible. We didnt even eat more than 5 pcs. We brought the rest home, and no one in my family like it. We have to throw it away. The fried chicken isnt crispy at all and almost have no taste read more

Redholic is a casual place thats open late night. The food is comfort food korean style with all the fast korean foods that you could want. Prices are relatively cheap as most items have a splittable quantity. The staff is fast and relatively nice. Good place for quick cheap late food with friends after hanging out in annandale. read more

Their food was more than my expectation. It was interesting combination of Korean street food. And taste was great and portion was enough. Staff was kind and friendly and restaurant was clean. When I paid, I used Samsung pay. And it worked smoothly like videos below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpPapvJNpWo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czcb5dXjlZA https://www.meetup.com/Samsung-pay-users/ read more

Best Korean street food in Annandale. The fried chicken was incredible--crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Chicken was actually better than Bonchon. The Kalbi was delicious--perfectly seasoned. We also had the Holic kimbab and teokppoki was just like the ones you'll find on the streets of Seoul. This place is also very kid friendly--the kids loved the mandoo and kalbi. And all kids get cotton candy on the house at the end of the meal. read more

Holic's selling point might be its chicken, but I go for their jjolmyeon! It's chewy, refreshing, and the sauce is just delicious. The tempura and bulgogi kimbap are also very, very good; The former is nice and crispy and the latter is HUGE :o So yummy. The atmosphere for the restaurant is also very relaxed and cool; It's color scheme is red and white with a summery feel to it, so I enjoy coming with friends during the warmer months. Little notes and pictures left by past patrons decorate the wall on the far left side of the establishment, and the place may be small but it's comfortable and not crowded. I want to eat here every day. T_T read more

I always drove passed this restaurant while in Annandale, not knowing what it was lol. Finally tried it for lunch and I have to say it was pretty good. Its a cute little restaurant with charming decor. As far as the food, you do get a lot but nothing really stands out. Overall I'm glad I tried it but probably wont be back. read more

Way better than the rest. My friend been telling me about this place for months. So with them having a Groupon deal why not giving them a try. So with the deal for two you get two salads 1 dumplings and 1 chicken entree. First thing that came out was soup, salad, dumplings, then chicken. I was not told that soup was included, so I was surprised when it came out. But the star of this review is the chicken we got the sweet and spicy along with the soy. To me the sweet and spicy was the best, but both was good. Heck I don't even line soy sauce. But on this chicken or couldn't do no wrong. read more

Got a Livingsocial deal. Since I love fried chicken so much, I just had to try this place out. We had fried chicken and fried dumplings and 4 cans of soda for $26, instead of the regular price of $52. The first thing I noticed was how oddly the chicken pieces were cut. The pieces were about 2 inches long and seemed randomly cut. Since each piece was coated with batter, we didn't know what we would bite into with each piece. Sometimes it's mostly bones. It was consistently greasy though. So, if you like greasy fried chicken smothered with sweet and sour sauce and just plain greasy fried chicken, this place may be for you. Oh, the dumplings were so so. read more

The food isn't so bad, but it's nothing great or memorable either. I had a groupon and got 2 side salads, an order of yangyom chicken, and a platter of dumplings. I liked the huge portion of the chicken but didn't like that the texture of the batter and skin was kinda fluffy instead of crispy. The sauce itself was a tad sweet and needed a little more spice and a sticky factor that was absent. We ordered the cheese dumplings, which the server mentioned was a very popular option, and they were alright, but not something I'd want to necessary come back for. The restaurant itself seemed clean and the people there were friendly enough that I would recommend if you're looking for a quick place to eat. read more

Food was pretty good it wasn't the best but it was still good that I would make a trip to go again! Service was really good. Our food took a bit but I didn't even notice it because the server gave us soup and complimentary watermelon! I would rate the food as 3 stars but the service allowed me to bump it up to 4 stars read more

Red Holic - Korean Near Me - Annandale, Virginia

Did they get a new owner recently? Because, their food is not what it used to be... I've ordered a Holic sampler and it tasted horrible. Their toppoki was very dry and had no taste and tasted like a leftover from a day before. Don't get me started on soondae! It tasted like a frozen soondae from a local Asian market. So disappointed! Will not make another trip anytime soon... read more

Don't order delivery. You're gonna have to wait 35 mins for your order to be canceled. Waste of time.

Yay! I luv, luv, luv this cute little Korean cafe. It's our favorite hangout to meet up with girlfriends to nosh on popular Korean street foods while dishing about our favorite Korean celebs. The private back room looks like a fun place for my niece's tea party. Moms, dads and- ahem- boys are also welcome. The food is yummy with no complaints and we usually order the Korean-style fried chicken, which comes in different favors. P.S. If you're lucky the super cute server will be working that day! read more

The spicy squid kimbap was good, although not wrapped very tightly. It took over 30 minutes for the chicken wings we ordered to come out and they definitely weren't worth the wait. Given all the other places in the area I wouldn't come back here, nor recommend it. read more

2 1/2 Stars - My boyfriend and I decided to try this after discovering Miso down the street was closed on Labor Day. We ordered the platter - with Fried Tempera, some blood noodle sausage thingy, fried meat dumplings, bugolgi toppki with rice cakes, and the spam kimbap. The platter honestly could have been enough for 4 people, but since our eyes are usually bigger than our stomachs we order the 8 piece wings as well ( half with soy sauce and the other half with some sweet and spicy sauce). We thought the food was just average-nothing spectacular, but service was good! read more

Amazing menu with awesome prices but the food isn't the best I've had. I will go again if I'm in the area but when I'm craving korean comfort food, I'd rather go to Hmart or Myungga. read more

Great place for korean boonshik. It is not pricey at all and the food is pretty good :)

We got the dish where it had the fried vegetables, kimbab, dumplings, ddukbokki, and soondae. Only the fried food was delicious, cause it was fried. The soondae tasted stale and the ddukbokki had no flavor. read more

Two blondes went into Red Holic...is that how the story goes? Fried vgetable dumplings for my friend and chicken wings for me - large portions. Both dishes had salads and nice little bowls of soup. Food great and super friendly service. The Holic coffee was a great sweet finish. We'll be back. read more

I came in with my family today for dinner. As usual food was amazing. As we were leaving, large group of people (about 12 people) walked in at 9:40pm. Even though this place closes at 10pm, the servers were really nice about it and accommodated them by setting up tables and chairs. read more

Ordered the Red Holic sampler. A good variety of dishes into one plate. It is a lot of food and I split it with a friend, but probably better to split among three people if you don't have a big appetite. read more

Absolutely love this place. Great food at a great cost. I especially love Korean boonshik and was glad to find a restraunt based only on that category of food. I have been searching for a good Korean place for awhile now. I saw Red Holic on Groupon and thought I would give it try. Having been disappointed by a Groupon deal for another Korean-run restaurant (Otani had too many exceptions to the deal -- food wasn't that great either if you know what authentic japanese and korean food taste like), I decided to scout out this place before buying a Groupon. This place specializes in chicken dishes. Went there for lunch yesterday and found the prices very reasonable and the Groupon wasn't much of a deal. Pros: Large serving portions at a decent price. Menu has pictures of certain meals but See Con below Cons: Place is a little bit hard to find if you are not familiar with Annandale. The restaurant is a good 200 feet from the main street but that's ok. Menu is not extensive but that was ok for us; however, menu is misleading; We pointed to a picture of the item we wanted and ended up with 2 dishes that didn't look like what was pictured. One was totally different; when we pointed this out the server, he said they don't have that dish anymore! Server was inattentive playing on his cell phone the whole and difficult to get his attention. read more
