The food was great, and the mimosas were amazing! I especially loved the fruit juice flight. I'm personally not a fan of orange juice, so having different juice options was such a fun touch. Despite it being super dead, our server (who my mom pointed out has worked here for forever) was acting like he had 50 tables. It took forever to get him to come over and order anything from him, he was a mess. Other than the terrible service, the food was pretty good. Nothing to run home about but it wasn't bad. Everything was hot and came out relatively quickly and was made correctly. There was some sand in my clams, but I feel like that happens often when eating shellfish so I won't hold it against them. The seats are also super comfy and I like how they have 2 bars and both indoor and outdoor seating.

My issue was it's very dirty. I haven't seen this level of filth since Coney Island in NY. It's unusual to see such a dirty place in a pristine strip mall in Pompano. Very unpleasant, grease covered windows where the sun shines through the filthy glass highlighting every smudge. The tables are sticky, the floors are sticky and even the sidewalk entrance in front has a path of grease and dirt that is looking very bad especially since all the other stores are clean in front. You guys nailed the food, it's really tasty but we won't be coming back. We spent almost $90 for lunch, we want to sit in a clean area. Do better.

Coming from someone from New England, that's high praise, and even the leftovers tasted great the next day! What made the evening especially enjoyable was our server, Alejandro. He was amazing! He was charming, attentive, perfectly timed, and very generous with his time answering our questions. His excellent presentation and service truly made the night. J. Fast forward to today, and it's a completely different story. Everything we ordered was outstanding. The steaks were massive, juicy, and cooked to perfection, easily some of the best I've had anywhere, and I've paid top dollar at high-end steakhouses. The Hawaiian ribeye, in particular, was incredible, tender & juicy. The wings were huge and packed with flavor, honestly some of the best wings I could ask for. They've also stepped up their starters. The new bread with honey butter is insanely good, and the avocado eggrolls with tamarind sauce are absolutely next level. I added on the crab cake which is of insane quality, big lump pieces, it's actually hard to find breading. Service was just as impressive, attentive, smooth, and genuinely welcoming. I even had the chance to speak with the manager, Dani, who explained they made a major shift away from distributors that were hurting their quality. They went back to basics, focused on what made them great in the first place, and it shows in every bite. This was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time, across any cuisine. J. Mark's is back, and better than ever.

My go to is the blackened fish sandwich with mango chutney sauce! Their French fries are so good! Sounds silly because I've probably eaten a zillion fries in my lifetime but they are delicious. Did I mention they have a swing and live music? The bar is lively. And has all the games on the TV's They do not take reservations but we have never had to wait more than 15 minutes for a table. Parking was conveniently located right in front of the restaurant, making it an easy stop. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted and invited to sit wherever we liked. We chose a table near the window and immediately appreciated the intimate and charming atmosphere. The restaurant also features a bar and televisions, creating a relaxed and welcoming vibe. Our waitress was pleasant, attentive, and made us feel right at home, which always enhances the dining experience. Although we weren't extremely hungry, the menu had so many appealing options that we decided to sample a few items. We started with the Caribbean Tea shots, which were unique, refreshing, and surprisingly enjoyable. For drinks, we ordered a Malbec and a Peanut Butter Old Fashioned. Our first entrée was the Churrasco Frites, featuring marinated skirt steak topped with chimichurri and served with twister fries. The steak was cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful, but those fries were the true star of the dish. Still wanting more, we ordered the Garlic Parmesan Twice Cooked Wings. They were nicely prepared and satisfying, though I would have enjoyed a stronger garlic flavor. Not quite finished, we moved on to the Oaxaca Burger, an 8 ounce burger stacked with onion rings, bacon jam, house BBQ sauce, and Oaxaca cheese. This was one of the best burgers I've ever had, and possibly the best. The bun was toasted yet soft, the burger was seasoned perfectly, and it was cooked to a juicy medium temperature. Every bite was packed with flavor. Overall, everything we ordered was excellent, and the service and atmosphere made the experience even better. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning.

It was a weeknight so we didn't think it woukd be too busy. We didn't want to eat on the 1st floor because it was so dark...which to me is sometimes a sign tbe place doesn't want you to see the food. We chose to sit upstairs in open air area. Had to wait about 20 minutes for a booth which we requested as opposed to sitting at table. Ok...not a big deal. Waitress brought some water and couple menus then totally disappeared. Two other couples at different booths came after us and their orders were taken right away. Finally I got the attention of Waitress to order. Wife ordered fish sandwich and I ordered fish tacos (mahi mahi fresh catch) for both. Finally food arrives but the couples after us are already leaving. Wife asked for starter sauce, was told no problem, and some sort of sauce was brought but wasn't tarter. I asked male server passing (ours disappeared again) by if it was a mistake. He said no its similar to tarter sauce, their version.... whatever it was it didn't belong on fish. I started on my tacos which werr terribly bland. No flavor. No white sauce, not even lime. The rice and beans were OK. The pineapple salsa made with green pineapple (hard). I finally flagged the waitress down and said this was terrible food and terrible service and asked to speak to the manager. She admitted she completely forgot about us. Manager did come over to apologize and make up for the trouble but at that point our anniversary dinner was a bust. Nice view, but doesn't make up for food and service.
