    Pineapple soft serve ice cream

I just happened to be browsing inside of the Essex market and stumbled upon this cute cake pop shop on the lower level. I had just eaten a donut so I didn't want anything sweet until I saw a sign for pineapple soft serve ice cream. Pineapple soft serve ice cream? I was a little curious, and gave it a try. My goodness!! It was actually a pineapple sherbet and not ice cream, and it is to die for!! I almost got another cone it was so good, especially during this heat wave we're having. It's topped with your choice of cake pop which mines was a chocolate cupcake. It was pretty much a chocolate coated brownie. It was chocolatey, decadent, but not overly sweet, and the prefect bite size. If I'm ever in the neighborhood again, I'll definitely be stopping by for a cone.

Cutest cake pops around!!! Every time I see these cake pops I'm so wowed by them. Serious artistry. And to make it even better, they taste super good!! A little on the pricey side, but considering the details and the fact that it's a small business I say it's worth it. The staff is always very nice and happy to help. The cake pops themselves are in a cute little stall. It has other food halls around it so you can get a meal and have a delicious and cute cake pop for dessert!

cake pops lack flavor, very disappointed. as you can see this even looks very doughy, tastes like straight flour

I'm not a fan of cake pops but this place is just really fun - it has whimsical designs and is straight up fun. Cake pops designs vary from animals to mermaids to your good old regular boring balls on a stick. The mermaid ones were really well done and little kids absolutely adored them. Flavor was also good - cake wasn't too moist or too hard. Staff here was very nice and prices weren't that bad IMHO. They're definitely a bit of a splurge but a lot of work went into their creations so it's worth it. Thumbs up.

The prettiest and tastiest cake pops! These cake pops are adorable!! My boyfriend got me the cake pops shaped in a rose for Valentine's Day and they were too pretty to eat. Crunchy, sugary exterior with a chocolate fudge interior. The stem was made with chocolate, how cute! They also have other designs for their cake pops and they're located in the Essex market! Check them out!

Super yummy moist cake pops, but definitely pricey! I can totally understand why since every cake pop is made very carefully. The prices actually range depending on how intricate the design is! I loved the cake pops that were filled with chocolate cake and birthday cake! They're definitely incredibly moist aka the perfect cake pop texture. I wish they'd list the prices next to each cake pop in their display though. A worthwhile splurge if you really like cake pops, but you can also just get a slice of cake somewhere for the price of 3 of these cake pops haha!

I'm not much of a sweets guy, but I appreciate crafstmanship. They were able to do a custom order for my nephew's space-themed birthday party. All the pops were planets, and the attention to detail was amazing! We did a tray of chocolate and one of vanilla, and they were a big hit! Oh, not to mention delicious. The chocolate was my favorite.

Perfect gifts for kids, adults or yourself! I brought these from NYC to DC and they traveled flawlessly. They're obviously adorable, but what I didn't expect was for them to be so delicious! Every element of the cake pop is so thoughtful and YUMMY. From mini m&ms to what I believe are chocolate covered sunflower seeds, everything about these cake pops are perfection.

Holy deliciousness!!!! These are hands down the BEST cake pops I have ever had and I do consider myself very picky, and a connoisseur. We tried the Thai iced tea cake pop and the rainbow cookie cake pop, both were moist and DELICIOUS! The staff is extremely helpful and friendly as well.

Okay I was cracking up about my experience here because I literally asked the dumbest question to…read morethe guy working but he was so nice and explained the answer to me until I understood! So fun fact they are now advertising Banana Pudding Hot Chocolate and it is NOT actual hot chocolate but banana pudding made to taste like hot chocolate. Why I got so confused? I don't know! Maybe I have been watching too many videos about Tyra Banks Hot Ice Cream. Either way I appreciate the guys patience and kindness when explaining it to me twice especially because I did not end up ordering that at all (though it sounds interesting) but I did get the regular actual hot chocolate and it was amazing! It tasted like melted marshmallows were in it! Perfect for a cold winter day. In addition we got to the humming bird cake, a cupcake, and the regular banana pudding. My husband had never been here before so you know we had to get the banana pudding, it's their claim to fame. And it is decent. Growing up in North Carolina banana pudding is taken very seriously and is literally at every gathering. Would this be a contender for the cookout? Sure! I have no complaints about. The other baked items were delicious as well. The store is cute unfortunately this location has no indoor seating but plenty of outdoor. It was like negative degrees when we went so we definitely did not sit outside. All and all it's a cute bakery/ sweets shop. There are many locations through out the city. I've been to others and it is consistent. It's definitely not a bad dessert spot to try.

Let me start with the positives, because there were some. Daniel was excellent--polite, attentive,…read moreand gave solid customer service. Credit where it's due. Now for the madness. Another employee, Kirk--an older gentleman who looked completely out of place--approached and coughed directly over the slice of cake that had just been cut for me. Yes. Over it. At that moment, I honestly wondered if it was intentional. A young woman nearby immediately caught my reaction and went to the back to replace the slice. She handled the situation professionally and deserves recognition. Unfortunately, the chaos continued. Kirk later made me a hot cocoa, and when I went to drink it, it spilled on me because the lid wasn't secured properly. At that point, I stopped believing in coincidences. And the cake? The German chocolate cake was terrible--dry AF and nothing like the Grand Central location. Not even remotely close. Between the coughing, the spill, and the subpar cake, this visit was uncomfortable, messy, and disappointing. Magnolia should seriously reconsider who they put on the floor and retrain accordingly--because this location is not living up to the brand. But honestly, I believe the 2 guys had to be the owners. I love a good watch but rolex's while serving Desserts is WILD

While I'm not the biggest cupcake fan, they have a nice selection of cakes, bars, and other things for pretty reasonable prices, especially in Midtown. The staff are also friendly. The most recent time, I got a Ube Buttercake Bar for $4.25, or something very similar. As per the name, it is made with ube, or purple yam, and it has a slight purplish hue. It was just a bit rich, had a soft texture inside, and had a very mild ube flavor with a bit of vanilla. The dessert was decent, but not strong enough of a ube flavor for me to buy it again. Much better was the Brookie I got the first time for $4.50 or so, listed as a blend of their Ooey Gooey Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar and Fudge Brownie. I was happy that the chocolate chip part was dark chocolate, and it wasn't overly sweet. Otherwise, it had a nice mix of textures, with some soft and crunchier parts. I liked it a lot more. The prices here are decent enough, and the quality isn't that bad. It's not a place I would go out of my way to go to, but it's nice to be nearby if I want to pick up a snack or something similar. I would probably try a slice of cake, or another bar such as their lemon or dream, next time.

Unfortunately, the customer service was disappointing. The employee behind the counter did not greet us or offer any assistance while my friend and I looked at the display. When we decided on the chocolate cake, she sharply asked, "Which chocolate cake?" as though she were annoyed, so my friend had to walk over and point it out. The store was not busy, and both of us noticed the unfriendly attitude. The slice was also $7 and smaller than the portions I have received there before. For that price, customers deserve both a good product and welcoming service, especially since people often visit bakeries to celebrate happy occasions.
