It's all handled through their beautifully manicured website. They do a good job shipping when I need a gift. Children and adults definitely love Mini Melanie sweets. After I tried my first mini cupcake I had to try a cake pop. I've never had a cake pop until Mini Melanie. I've had the cupcake and the cake pop and both were moist and delicious. Mini Melanie has mini donuts too. I am sure I will order some of those online for delivery. The two pack of truffles are very good. You can purchase large quantities for parties or use their catering services. I definitely recommend Mini Melanie for their sweets and will use them when I'm planning an event. I must've found this place on a social media ad, because I couldn't tell you how your girl here from the Bay Area would've came across Mini Melanie out in Brooklyn. What I can tell you though is that I'm so happy I discovered them! I wanted to get the best of all worlds, so I got the Signature Mix of cake truffles. I was very pleased with the quality of the packaging and condition of the truffles upon arrival. The truffles were packed with 3 blocks of ice, and the box with the truffles still felt cold to the touch despite traveling across the country for 3 days. None of the truffles were broken or melted, but I went ahead and stuck them in the fridge before trying them. The instructions in the box advised to store them in the fridge anyway. I have to be honest: I've had ganache filled truffles, which are pretty basic as they come, but not cake ones. Although I can't compare Mini Melanie's cake truffles to another brand, I will go as far as saying that these cake truffles have set the bar really high for me. They were excellent! The cake was super moist, and I loved how each truffle tasted from its unique filling. The chocolate coating had a nice bite to it as well. My favorites were s'mores, red velvet cake, key lime pie and cookie dough, and yet you can't go wrong with any of the flavors in the signature mix. read more

We received a wonderful surprise by FedEx: A black and white layer cake sent as a gift for my wife's 81st birthday. It was in a heavy box, well wrapped in thick plastic, so well wrapped that I needed kitchen shears and a lot of determination to extract the cake intact. Once removed, The Cake was beautiful to behold, but it seemed so heavy for its size. Dense! Also in the shipping carton was a little plastic, screw-top jar and a small candy box with two truffle-like small candies, but no explanation as to the purpose of these "extras." I poked at what looked like ganache in the jar, but it was too thick to spread, so I microwaved it for 5-seconds. Better....so another 5-seconds and it was very pourable. Tasted, it was excruciatingly sweet, but definitely chocolate..y too. Since there was just the two of us, I decided to cut two slices and pour the chocolate over each slice instead of topping the whole cake...and the amount of sauce wasn't really enough for that anyway. Cutting the cake: I decided that 1/8th looked like a good portion. But what type of knife to use for a gooey cake? Ah, the Henckels 10" gratin blade would perfect...razor sharp with those little grooves that permits it to easily cut sticky foods. I often use it for semi-soft cheeses. Well, it took a lot of "heavy persuasion" to get that knife to work through this unusual cake. Is this what gluten-free cake is all about...so dense that it almost defies a thin sharp blade? I plated the two slices and drizzled the chocolate sauce over each slice. Deciding to forgo the birthday candle, I served the perfect slices with a dessert fork. We sat down together and each cut a forkful....but clearly something was wrong. The texture? It was too tough and firm. And what was this indescribable texture in my mouth? It wasn't cake-like at all. It was as if the cake had spent a week on display in a cake museum, stale, hard, and lacking in flavor. It was unpleasant in terms of texture too...stale to the point of wondering if it was even safe to eat. We looked at each other and both of us giggled...a little nervously...as we pushed the plates aside and reached for a glass of water to try and get the taste of dry spackle out of our mouths. How would we ever be able to explain our experience to the ever so thoughtful beloved cousin who'd wanted to send a real treat for my dear wife's epic birthday? It would be awkward, to say the least! We shared some delightfully smooth Tillamook Vanilla Bean Ice Cream to cleanse the pasty taste of that "beautiful cake" from our mouths. I'm still mystified... read more

I tried mini melanie for the first time over the holidays, since I love trying out new boutique dessert shops, and the desserts here were simply mind-blowing! I ordered holiday cake pops, coquito (Puerto Rican eggnog) cake truffles, and signature cake truffles. Each of these desserts were so gooey, soft, chocolatey, flavorful yet not too overwhelmingly sweet, and overall just perfect! The desserts were so beautifully decorated too, especially the ones with a marbled or glittery appearance. These cake-based desserts can be stored for up to 3-weeks in the fridge or up to 3 months in the freezer. I'm absolutely in love with mini melanie and can't wait to order from here again! Their desserts make perfect gifts for birthdays, holidays, and any other special occasion. According to their website, this shop sells mini cakes as well, but sadly, those cakes are only available for pick-up orders from their shop in Brooklyn. Honestly spend your money somewhere else. All the pastries are stored for months before being packaged and sold. The only thing that is made by order is the packaging of the products into the shipping box. The cooks always have covid n never wear mask. My husband and I ordered a table full of mini cakes and three 8 inch cakes for out December 2016 wedding. These cakes are absolutely beautiful and delicious, particularly the lemon. We were trying to work within budget, and they let us provide our own cake platters and stands so as to save $$. The staff came very early on the day of the wedding (such a relief when a million pieces have to come together at once) and set them up so that guests could see them as they arrive and let their mouths water during cocktail hour.
