This cake is sooooo good!! So buttery, creamy, not too sweet, not too heavy. i had the red blue velvet cake, and omg! When I first tried it, I was like okay. This is good. i ate a few bites and I kept putting it away. The cake was cold when we purchased it, so that impacted the flavor at first. I left the cake slice out in a car most of the day as I was running my errands, and each time ingot back to the car, I took a couple more bites, and that cake got better with time. The icing was perfect! Cream cheese icing, which was so delicious and fresh tasting after thawing out a bit. The richness of the red and blue velvet cake was divine! So I had this place on my list to check out for a while, so I stopped by after picking up dinner, to complete my return from vacation about 5:30 pm on a Wednesday. The counter person was cordial, gave me the run down of all of the flavors. I select two and was told he did not have change for a $20. So he sent a guy he was chatting with out to get change. More customers came in, and in the midst, change guy returns. Who do you think got taken care of first. Yes of course the person at the counter buying 4 slices to my two, despite her recent entrance and order. I smiled, was given my cake and change. I bid them both adieu as I skipped out into the rain. Got home ate half my dinner because it was cake time. My bf said the strawberry banana was really good, and I declined a taste. My red velvet was okay, a little sweeter than I'm accustomed to, and I noticed a strange discoloration in the center layer. It was hard as a brick! So I took a swig of my "upgraded coffee", shrugged it off and ate around it. Yeah it was a good 1/4 - 1/3 of my $6 slice, but I refuse to flip out, my vacation had been bad enough. I had been wanting to try this place ever since I first heard about it and finally happened to be driving by one day. I almost didn't get to try it because the door was locked and nobody was in sight. I took a walk and came back and the door was still locked, but this time I saw someone in the back. I knocked a few times but she didn't hear me. I was there for several minutes with my baby in the cold before I finally caught her eye. I wish they would get a doorbell or something. It was also difficult to get in with a stroller because there is a step at the door. After the technical difficulties were overcome, I ordered a slice of red velvet and another slice with caramel something or other. Both were very good, although the caramel one was too sweet for my taste (which is saying a lot!). I tend to like a heavier/denser red velvet, but this one was still pretty tasty. read more

Wow this is some good cake. The brand new bakery will be serving cupcakes and cookies too (all named after dead rappers and $2), but all they had at their grand opening was a few varieties of cake. We tried the Red Velvet and the Strawberry Blonde ($6 a slice) and they were incredible. The cake itself is super moist and the frosting is nice and sweet but not too overpowering. I've heard so much about this place. Some good and some bad so since I was in the area I had to try it for myself. I definitely wasn't disappointed at all by the cake worth every penny that I spent. I got a slice of confetti, carrot and a slice of coconut pineapple. Each cake was simply delicious and super moist and not overly sweet. I really like the carrot cake and the fact that you could see carrots in the carrot cake. All of the flavors are delicious and indulgent but I would say Pineapple Coconut is the best as it is has the right amount of sweetness, it's moist and indulgent. The Strawberry Pineapple comes right after for me. The Hazelnut Cashew didn't have a strong flavor but it was really good. It was what you wish most yellow would taste like.
