True story, so my granddaughter got me some strawberries covered with strawberry chocolate ( omg ) and in the beginning my daughter didn't know the name of the Bakery. So I was saying how good they were and then she found the place and lo and behold it was Valencia. I told her they been around forever and it was our go to for cakes back in the days and they havent lost touch yet and I enjoyed my treat. Can't wait to go there myself. Unfortunately the beautiful cake I ordered for my daughter was EXTREMELY dry and not edible. It was a waste of $43. Almost the entire cake is still sitting in its box. I believe they sold me a cake that was old already. One of the cakes they sell on Too Good To Go! I know the difference because I've purchased their cakes from TGTG and this was definitely a $15 cake I could've gotten on TGTG but paid more than double that price. I plan to call them tomorrow to see if they can give me a fresh cake and make this right. I don't plan on it happening but I'm going to try anyway. OMGGGG ... So I'm not going to lie and say I was raised on Valencia cakes but I did have it a couple of times at some birthdays, baby showers and communions but never went to buy it on my own. Don't judge me :-/ Being the greedy that I am lol.. I saw the this amazing cake was trending after seeing Bad Bunny's video Nueva Yol. The cake looked soooo yummy I had to get a slice. I arrived to Valencia's at about 4pm and Lo and behold. The slices for the Benito cake were SOLD OUT!!!!!! The beautiful lady at the counter told me that they get sold out EVERY DAY! & she told me they'll be available at noon the next day but I'd have to get there EARLY. Luckily there was 1 mini Benito cake left so I decided to snatch it up and I'm so glad I did. I took it to my friends house and we tore it up! It's a blue sponge cake with strawberry whipped icing ... yummm yummm yummm.... It was sooo good. It was super fresh and very light. Not too sweet. I will definitely be back and stop acting like a stranger :-) read more

Growing up there used to be a Valencia Bakery by Broadway on Flushing, around where Popeyes is now. Now, Valencia is back at a much closer location. Growing up I used to not like their pineapple cakes because my mom would only that, along with the plastic case of vanilla ice cream. Now that I'm much older, the pineapple cake has a certain nostalgia to it. The icing is way too sweet, as it always was. The ice cream is always on point. Sometimes I get a vanilla custard slice as well. read more

The cake was simply beautiful however, once it was cut the icing fell everywhere. The cake was either not well cooked or frozen that I could not get one perfect slice of that cake. It was an absolute mess, but I was at a function. I served it. I should've taken pictures. I called Monday from Saturday and was told because I didn't call within 24 hours. There isn't anything they can do about it OK so I wasn't going to give a negative review. I felt that we could work it out and maybe they give me a cupcake just to make to make it but in typical New York you rather put your feelings above the customers and it was disrespectful. Came in here and got a few cannolis, guava pastries, cookies, and a slice of cake. The bakery is small and ideal for pickups - there's no place to sit so it's not a full service dessert spot. The guava pastries and the cookies were great but the other items were just okay - the cake was too sweet and didnt really taste like anything but sugar. And the cannolis were a little stale. It wasn't for me but still a decent spot to pick up whole, half, or even quarters of cakes, as well as other sweet treats. read more

Guess who is back in the neighborhood!!! After 30 plus years our beloved Valencia Bakery has returned to us, to Williamsburg. If you are a Brooklyn original, a Williamsburg original, a Bushwick original, meaning if you grew up in the area during the 70's & 80's, then you know every milestone cake , birthday cake, baby shower cake, all came from Valencia's. We have a saying that goes, if you know, you know when we refer to Valencia's. So for those that don't know, let us introduce you to our childhood nostalgia in form of a cake. Growing up in BK families ordered the custard cake, or the guava and custard cake, and/or the pineapple cake. I know it seems a bit unorthodox but trust me it works, and it's so good. They have now expanded their variety to tres leches cake, flanchoco cake, and other selections. You can purchase by the slice or entire cakes. They also have wonderful traditional cookie platters. The cookies are so soft and pure nostalgia, it's just all nostalgic. They now offer more modern cake toppers and custom designs. The price point still remains absolutely reasonable which is an added bonus especially, in Williamsburg now a days. So please go get yourself a slice of nostalgia, or an entire cake, you know you want to. Lol If you have never had the opportunity to try Valencia's, go grab a couple of different slices, and figure out what is your fave. The individual slices are perfect for sharing. read more

The Valencia brand is a neighborhood staple. It has been around for many years and still going on strong. They have many locations, but this new spot is a long overdue replacement for the one we lost. Welcome back to Williamsburg. This location has everything you would expect from Valencia bakeries. Pineapple, custard and strawberry cakes just to name a few. They also have made to order options for different occasions which include cake designs, toppers balloons...etc. They have expanded beyond their traditional style and now offer modern cake designs, individual slices, pastries and assorted cookies. I tired the chocolate Flancocho and a pack of assorted cookies my first time out to this location. The cake was really good, not overly sweet but just right, cookies were soft fresh and crumbly, just like wanted. This location will definitely be one of my go to spots read more

Based off the other reviews, I'm guessing they had an off day today. I got the tres leches and chocolate and both were pretty bad. The tres leches was way to dense/thick. The chocolate cake was so hard that we ended up throwing it away. Definitely won't be going back. read more
