So I can really only judge this place on its hot chocolate and it's pretty solid (not literally but)! Walk in and it's a tiny lil shop filled with cute confections. Dog shaped, bolt shaped, NYC placard shaped! Ordered a regular hot chocolate (after snapping some pics of course) and was pleasantly surprised. I expected an excellent hot chocolate and this place did not disappoint. No powder here, real chocolate used to give the drink some body and richness. Super satisfying for a bone chilling Sunday. Being ripped off for chocolate is a valentine's day ritual. But this place takes things too far. They sold me this $25 assortment of what is clearly labeled as "handmade" chocolate. When my wife opened it, we both had to laugh. Three tiny pieces of handmade chocolate and a bunch of halloween candy that's specifically labeled "not for resale." I called the store and the owner was utterly unapologetic. Basically called me cheap (which, granted -- but not as cheap as a storeowner who has to charge $25 for this). I have no doubt he'll report this review and/or write a long defense. Don't buy it. read more

This place has exquisite chocolates. I mean, you can TASTE the passion of the chocolatier. Every item is beautifully made and the attention to detail is evident in their products. I happened to walk pass this place and was curious because the store front had chocolates covered strawberries. When I went in to ask questions, the owners spent 10 minutes talking about their background and how proud they are of their products. They told me about the fresh croissants baked daily and the four types of chocolates that's used to fill the croissants. My mouth was watering and I couldn't wait to bite into them. It's good. Here's a gem that definitely punches above it's weight. They sell hands-down the best hot chocolate I've ever had. To put it bluntly, they get it right. Their hot chocolate is the perfect mix of sweet and flavorful. Some hot chocolate places OD the sweet to the point that you don't actually taste the chocolate. Others OD on the chocolate continent, so that it's so bitter you can't actually enjoy it. Not Just Chocolate knows how to balance everything properly. Also, it should be noted that the customer service was phenomenal. The manager(?) made excellent recommendations as far as snacks go. The snacks were also perfect. read more

Thank the Lord that this place has made it through Covid19! Just the place for chocolate gifts and more.... customer service is very attentive and there is a wide collection of chocolate delights for any palate. Best times to come is any time! But, this place is a perfect stop for unique chocolate gifts and holiday items! Love the Halloween, Thanksgiving, Xmas and Easter gift chocolates- but they have many items any occasion, such as, my chocolate craving attacks - LOL! read more

I happened to stop in here while taking a walk around my neighborhood on New Year's Eve and I'm so, so glad I did. I intended to get a bar or two of chocolate, but the small shop smelled amazing and made me want to try everything. I wound up getting a simple milk chocolate bar, a white chocolate bar with Oreos, and a strawberry chocolate bar because they had a mix-and-match deal on three bars. Each is great, but I especially recommend the strawberry--it's a gorgeous color (if that kind of thing draws you in as it does for me) and the taste is upbeat, fresh, unique, and rich (without being too heavy). I also got two little disks of milk & dark chocolate with M&Ms to break up and put alongside a cheese plate I made for the evening. It was nice to add a sweet element to the board, especially since it was just two of us this year so we were looking for special ways to celebrate. I almost got a big chocolate sculpture (they're super detailed and so pretty) but had a lot of walking to do and didn't want to risk breaking it, so I settled on a cute little flower-shaped lollipop. The best thing I bought: a chocolate croissant. The owner told me they make them in the shop so I ordered a milk chocolate one; they didn't have any in the case so I got an ultra fresh one they finished as I was there, which was *amazing*--so flaky, warm, and perfect for a cold day. Even better, we discovered that he threw an extra one in my bag, which was a seriously wonderful surprise later. All in all, I'm so glad I stopped into this local hidden gem and definitely will be back. read more

There are few things that can get me out of the house on a snow day. A cup of hot chocolate from his delightful little shop is one of them. This isn't thick, European-style hot chocolate, but it's a thousand times better than your run-of-the-mill coffee shop hot chocolate. It's just the right amount of sweetness, and please, please, please do yourself a favor and go with the "regular milk." Hot chocolate isn't something to skimp on with almond or oat milk period unless you have dietary restrictions. I've always been meaning to try the mocha, but the hot chocolate screams to every time I walk in here. One day... There is a $10 credit card minimum. Side note: The animal sculptures are so life like. Side note 2: Very strange to name a chocolate shop "Not Just Chocolate" -- is it irony or am I missing out on a secret menu? read more

Accidentally found this lovely chocolate shop in Park Slope. The staff were sweet and accommodating as they made recommendations from their menu. We took home some of their various chocolates and each were unique and delicious in their own way. We also had the hot chocolate latte and lavender latte which were just divine. Bought the cutest little chocolate bear for my mother in law and the attention to the details are amazing. Will definitely come back to visit once I'm back in the area. read more

I gifted these chocolates so I can not speak on their flavor. Though I feel they must be delicious. I wanted to post on behalf of the service here because it was a busy day and my partner took awhile ordering from here since he was video calling me so I could pick up the chocolates. The man behind the counter did not rush us and was kind. We ended up getting a gift box, a dog chocolate, a cat chocolate and lollipops. This place is so cute and filled with chocolate goodness. I even changed my son's pediatrician appointments from Monday to Tuesday so we can go here afterwards (they are closed on Mondays). It's the best hot chocolate I've EVER HAD!!! The figures made out of chocolate make for great presents and they are decently priced. Great small spot find in park slope! read more

Cutest little shop! It's easy to miss it, but you shouldn't. They have amazing variety of chocolate figurines, animals and cars. We ordered little chocolates with our restaurant's logo and info for grand opening and everyone loved it. Our guests said they don't want to eat it, it looks to pretty to eat. They also have few breakfast items: danishes and croissants filled with chocolate (yum!). You have to try them. read more

My favorite hot chocolate in NY! The consistency is just right, not too thick or sweet but never too thinned out with milk as well. It's simply gourmet hot chocolate! I've tried some name brands one in the city but some came out too sweet almost while others can be too sour with the dark choc concentration. Wish this place would bring back their chocolate palmiers though! read more

They gave us samples of the hot chocolate and iced chocolate to try. Surprisingly, we both liked the iced chocolate more, even though I generally prefer hot drinks. The dulce de leche, passion fruit, and rum flavor were my favorite. You also get a cute booklet as reference to the flavors as each one is decorated differently. It's pricey, but worth it. No notes on the merchandise, just wasn't a fan of the customer service. Would have given 5 stars basing off the chocolate but the snobby behavior took away from the experience.

I completely understand that there were customers waiting behind me and that the staff needs to keep the line moving. However, I believe every customer deserves to be treated with patience and respect. If I am spending over $120 on your products, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect five minutes of patience while I carefully choose my order. I truly love this bakery and will continue recommending it because the quality of the bread is exceptional. I only hope the customer service can better reflect the quality of the products. A little more patience and kindness would make the experience just as memorable as the bread itself.

My friend also ordered a cup of clam chowder, which he thoroughly enjoyed. One of the best oyster HH spots I've come across, because it seems to be harder finding good ones lately. Would definitely come back to try the other seafood dishes.
