    Blue zoo and mango sorbet
    Gabriel N.

Not sure why the average stars for this shop on Yelp is below 4! I love coming here whenever I can with my girlfriend, the blue zoo flavor is my favorite and I had the Dulce De Leche too. My girlfriend got the mango sorbet and thought it was delicious, but she ended up liking my blue zoo scoop more lol. Employee in the shop was very nice too and friendly!

Stumbled upon this small ice cream shop. Scoops are quite expensive (1 scoop - $5, 2 scoops $7, and 3 scoops $9), Asked to taste a few flavors (pink grapefruit(v), pistachio, and apricot orange blossom). I sort expected these three flavors to have a real fruits/nuts in the ice cream but was disappointed that they didn't have any so it tasted very artificial which I didn't like. Lastly, asked to taste the lemoncello which tasted the most natural in flavor so I ended up getting that one. Got the scoop and it was smaller than expected. Definitely do not see myself coming back.

I perked up at the sight of this brand new ice cream shop that opened recently on this quiet stretch of Church Avenue. It appears to be attached to the long established Lark Cafe next door, which I realize now has long served Jane's Ice Cream. Their original location is based in the Hudson Valley and on their website they proudly state that they use the best chocolate, real fruit, and pure vanillas to make their ice cream, whose recipes have been passed down through generations. A scoop will set you back just $4.25, which feels like a low price of yesteryear, but a milkshake cost $8, which feels more in line with contemporary Brooklyn prices. I ordered the "Insta-Graham"-- a graham cracker and chocolate flavor as a milkshake, and it was blended right away so I was in and out of the shop with my drink in minutes. The quality of the cream was pretty good, and the sweetness of the ice cream just right. I wish the ice cream itself had more texture and it would've been nice to have a larger straw to make drinking the shake a little easier, but all in all this was a solid and charming ice cream shop just blocks away from home.

Saw this new ice cream place on Yelp & decided to give a try since I was in the neighborhood anyway. Checked their website & saw they serve more interesting flavors of ice cream, so that instantly attracted me since I LOVE unconventional ice cream flavors. It's attached to a coffee shop next door, small little ice cream place but quite alot of different flavors available. Got 2 scoops for $6 ish and they're very generous size scoops :D Tried the Orange apricot blossom and Limoncello, both were refreshing and tasty! Can taste these are higher quality ice cream. Not overly sweet and just nice. Would love to return to try more flavors!

2 scoops: Apricot Orange Blossom and Unicorn Cake

I was pleasantly surprised by their ice cream given they only had a few reviews. We got the Apricot Orange Blossom and Unicorn Cake. Unicorn cake was nice and creamy while the Apricot Orange Blossom was light and floral. The space was small and there was no indoor seating. There was a table and two seats outside. The one person working there was very friendly and inviting. I would go back again if I'm in the area.

Blue zoo and German chocolate cake

Ate dinner next door and had to give this place a try for dessert. They're from the Hudson area. The space is small but they have a pretty decent selection of flavors. I had a scoop of the blue zoo (vanilla ice cream made blue with spirulina, animal crackers and chocolate chips) and a scoop of German chocolate cake. I really enjoyed the blue zoo, German chocolate cake had coconut in every bite. The server was nice, answered all our questions and gave us samples. Definitely a nice addition to a neighborhood where there's not a lot of dessert spots. They do close on the earlier side, definitely worth s try if you're around when they're opened.

Upon submitting the online order, I received a text confirming the order. I was able to confirm the price. They were going to charge me an extra $12 for the outline of Crayon Shin-Chan's face that I requested. They said it wasn't a simple drawing, which I didn't realize, so I swiftly changed it to just mini cone designs. The mini cone design was a good call because they added different flavored ice creams that I didn't choose for the cake to the cones. One of the ice cream cone flavors was orange or something, which I don't think I saw as an option on the ordering form, making it even better and allowing us to try even more flavors! It was $65.33 (incl tax) for 3 flavors for the second biggest size cake (I think it was for 10-12 ppl). The three flavors I got for the cake were: Cookies and cream - 3.5/5 My least favorite flavor here even though I generally really enjoy cookies and cream. Not enough cookies and the texture of the cookies is not soft enough. Don't think it will taste like your favorite pint of cookies and cream. If I were to try to describe it, I'd say it'd taste like a healthy cookies and cream? Taro - 4.5/5 My favorite flavor because the taro came through but in a nice, subtle way. This was also the least sweet of the three flavors. Black sesame - 4/5 Undeniably black sesame. The taste was very strong and the black sesame seeds gave it some texture. A tad bit too sweet but overall ok. I've gotten ice cream cakes from here in the past, and I thought I wrote them a review already, but I guess not.

Both flavors were good, not overly sweet. The two cones on the cake were flavors that we couldn't choose and it was strawberry and matcha. Personally for me, the matcha was a bit too bitter. When I do this; I usually find " buried restaurant treasure". On a recent visit to Prospect Park, I decided to try a different place and got off the B16 at Caton and Coney Island Avenue. The place: Lark Cafe. I was in a mood to cheat and have a toasted wheat bagel with scallion cream cheese and a Chai. I got almost everything, except, wheat was sold out and chose sesame bagel. As I waited, I wanted to check out the adjoining ice cream shop that sells Jane's ice cream, made in the heart of the Hudson Valley. I will return for a future cheat. Jane's is known for popular flavors as Killer Chocolate, Blue Zoo, Unicorn Cake. My order was ready and one bite of the bagel: heaven! The bagel was toasted to perfection and the scallion cc was delicious. And what a generous schmear! The Chai was light and frothy. As I devoured, patrons around me were typing on their computers enjoying Stumptown coffee and iced tea. LC offers a variety of tasty options: whitefish on a bagel, smoked salmon, cheddar chive biscuits, tea bread, croissants, doughnuts.. The ambience is relaxed and there is a book nook if you need a good read. Lark also hosts private events and for families there are sing along and story times. The service is kind and my bagel was absolutely made with TLC. I left Lark happy and walked straight to Prospect Park. Off the beaten path is always full of nice surprises! I ordered the nachos. The chips were nice and crispy. I requested cheese. It was very liquidy, cool, and had a thick skin covering the top. I also ordered some salsa for an additional $2.
