All those flavors pertain to the topping of your cup--the actual drinking hot chocolate is all the same no matter what you get. The drink itself was underwhelming and nothing I'd return to. Swiss miss taste, consistency, vibe. Very liquidy and not rich at all. What gets your heart racing is the whipped torched marshmallow fluff that tops the cup. It's so chewy and tasty, you'll feel your glucose spike through the roof. If you're into sweet--this is an indulgence for you. Pretty pricey for $7.50 per cup plus tax. Between the three flavors, all were tasty. Just depends on how much extra you're feeling on a particular day. Szechuan peanut butter gave the most unique flavor--slight spiciness to the crunchy brittle sprinkled on top of the marshmallow. If you go with classic, you won't miss out, honestly, as the toppings didn't add much depth or make any significant difference in the taste of the drink. No bathroom on premises. Very limited seating inside: a few stools that would fit 4 people max. If you come here during peak times, you'll have to eat outside. read more

Had the mint chip and the mango sticky rice. The mango sticky rice was soooo good. It's a perfect mix of coconutty mango. The mint chip had a sandy texture to it so not my favorite. I actually think their scoop prices on the lower end at 1 scoop at $6 in comparison to $7/8 I've seen. We were in the area and my daughter asked for ice cream so we found Heaps! There are a few ice cream stores in the neighborhood but I decided to come here because of all the flavors they offer. I tried their mango sticky rice flavor as well as their matcha strawberry flavor. They had a lot of asian inspired flavors as well which I'd like to try next time. Mango sticky rice flavor was pretty good but i opted for Matcha strawberry on a cone. My daughter got a scoop of vanilla. She enjoyed it a lot and we also enjoyed the matcha strawberry as well. I also noticed they offer ice cream cakes and asked if they do custom flavor. Seems like this is something new so hopefully down the line they will offer custom flavors as they only offer two types of ice cream cakes right now. read more

Today is National Ice Cream Day. It was too hot to stand in line for the free ice cream at 11:30 AM in the morning but just right for their three dollar cone or cup special during the late afternoon! This cozy ice cream shop offers creative flavors, flavorful, ice cream, and a friendly staff! They've done an exceptional job, providing an array of outdoor benches on which to sit and eat! I ordered a topping of gummy bears and they gave it to me separately in a cup. Nothing really groundbreaking about it but it's a definitely worth a visit if you're craving ice cream. Had a very weird interaction here. I love to support small business so I ventured to Brooklyn to see what the hullabaloo of heaps was! Very excited, gorgeous little shop in park slope, very quaint. However, I waited until the scooper was done with her phone conversation (I found out later that she was in fact a manager). Upon hang up, any question I had was met with a rolling of eyes and a rude retort. I asked for a single scoop of vanilla then after paying overheard it was only $1 up charge for a 2nd scoop. I Asked for a second scoop as I didn't know the deal. I was then charged another $7 for my additional scoop. I was met with rudeness and condescension. I did not enjoy the ambiance at all and the person serving me was the proverbial cherry on top of my $14 ice cream. Not the attitude for small business neighborhood store! read more

Tried it a couple times because of the reviews, but I really don't know what to think of this place. When you order a pint to go, they only give you a 14oz cup. Considering how much a pint costs, it's a considerable shaving. Just wanted to share a very disappointing experience at Heap's Ice Cream today. My daughter and I stumbled upon an Instagram ad for free ice cream at this location, so we decided to stop by. The event started at 11:30 am and we were probably number 15 on line. We were offered to either choose chocolate or vanilla ice cream outside or wait and be able pick any flavor inside the store (or so we thought). At no point did the worker outside decide to share that we would have to pay for any flavor besides chocolate or vanilla. This was also not on the Instagram ad. After we picked our flavors, the cashier said that he would ring us up. It was at this point that we first heard we had to pay. There were no signs or mention anywhere beforehand that we would have to pay. Apparently this was a surprise to other customers on the line as well. This is just pure bad business. I am writing this not because of the cost but rather the principle. Why not tell the customer first? We would've gladly paid. When another customer mentioned that no one explained we would be charged, the cashier simply shrugged and moved on. It was "National Ice Cream Day" so if you offer free ice cream, please be more specific about the stipulations. You lost many customers today as many vowed never to return. read more
