I actually dont remember the last time i ordered mint chip but something called to me on this day. I also never get sorbets unless im self imposing veganism but i got the guava passionfruit. I guess i was looking to be refreshed. Literally no notes this was so good. The mint was so MINT and truly fresh, not too sweet, natural delicious flavor. The sorbet was very natural but strongly flavored too. And FRESH WAFFLE CONE that is crunchy. Wow just wow. Now that ample hills is charging me damn near $99.99 for a kids scoop i will be trekking here again! read more

Had the mint chip and the mango sticky rice. The mango sticky rice was soooo good. It's a perfect mix of coconutty mango. The mint chip had a sandy texture to it so not my favorite. I also prefer chunkier mint chip ice creams. They also have sorbets available. Would definitely come back to try more flavors! read more

I've been to heaps a handful of other times but came today for their national ice cream day promotion. I actually think their scoop prices on the lower end at 1 scoop at $6 in comparison to $7/8 I've seen. They have some traditional flavors and some unique ones, one of their most popular being mango sticky rice. This was a flavor I wanted to try but was sold out for the day. Instead I went with salted caramel. The staff here are so friendly and pleasant, even when they are totally slammed. They really made sure everyone had a good experience. read more

Came here for hot chocolate on a freezing, snowy night. Tried classic, birthday cake, and Szechuan peanut butter flavors. All those flavors pertain to the topping of your cup--the actual drinking hot chocolate is all the same no matter what you get. The drink itself was underwhelming and nothing I'd return to. Swiss miss taste, consistency, vibe. Very liquidy and not rich at all. What gets your heart racing is the whipped torched marshmallow fluff that tops the cup. It's so chewy and tasty, you'll feel your glucose spike through the roof. If you're into sweet--this is an indulgence for you. Pretty pricey for $7.50 per cup plus tax. Between the three flavors, all were tasty. Just depends on how much extra you're feeling on a particular day. Szechuan peanut butter gave the most unique flavor--slight spiciness to the crunchy brittle sprinkled on top of the marshmallow. If you go with classic, you won't miss out, honestly, as the toppings didn't add much depth or make any significant difference in the taste of the drink. No bathroom on premises. Very limited seating inside: a few stools that would fit 4 people max. If you come here during peak times, you'll have to eat outside. read more

Been twice, once for National Ice Cream Day, which offered a $3 scoop deal (worth it). Honestly, the ice cream is perfectly fine and offers some mildly interesting flavors, but both times I visited I felt that Heaps lacks punch. There's nothing particularly great about it, but the high price tag suggests an artisanal experience. Definitely a good spot for a frozen treat for kids, and good for adults really craving an immediate cup or cone, but there are also better options in Brooklyn for $6+. read more

My girls wanted ice cream while in the park slope area. Cute spot in the corner of the block for sitting . Once inside i caught a headache. It smells amazing like a bakery but the smell was so sweet I had to step outside. Unfortunately i didn't get a chance to take pics of the ice cream. But you can sample whatever. One daughter got a cone of cookies and cream the other got a cup of cookie dough. They rated it a 3 from 1-5. So i guess im not sure what the hype is read more

We visited Heap's Ice Cream because we had been here before and loved the ice cream. Unfortunately, this visit was a completely different experience. We ordered three scoops of ice cream, but an employee kept insisting that three scoops couldn't be served because they would fall. That made no sense considering a three-scoop option is on the menu. Trying to make things easier, we suggested serving two scoops in a cone and the third scoop in a bowl. Instead of simply doing that, the staff asked us to repeat our order and our flavors multiple times. By the third time, it honestly felt like no one was listening. The manager then got involved, but instead of helping, she was aggressive and dismissive. She didn't try to resolve the situation or offer any solution. The entire interaction over a simple ice cream order became unnecessarily stressful. It's especially disappointing because the ice cream itself is genuinely good! Sadly, good products can't make up for poor customer service. We won't be returning unless the staff receive better training and the management takes customer service more seriously. If you're looking for a welcoming experience, be aware that this location may not provide it. read more

We were in the area and my daughter asked for ice cream so we found Heaps! There are a few ice cream stores in the neighborhood but I decided to come here because of all the flavors they offer. I tried their mango sticky rice flavor as well as their matcha strawberry flavor. They had a lot of asian inspired flavors as well which I'd like to try next time. Mango sticky rice flavor was pretty good but i opted for Matcha strawberry on a cone. My daughter got a scoop of vanilla. She enjoyed it a lot and we also enjoyed the matcha strawberry as well. I also noticed they offer ice cream cakes and asked if they do custom flavor. Seems like this is something new so hopefully down the line they will offer custom flavors as they only offer two types of ice cream cakes right now. read more

Today is National Ice Cream Day. It was too hot to stand in line for the free ice cream at 11:30 AM in the morning but just right for their three dollar cone or cup special during the late afternoon! This cozy ice cream shop offers creative flavors, flavorful, ice cream, and a friendly staff! They've done an exceptional job, providing an array of outdoor benches on which to sit and eat! We both had banana cream pudding ice cream. Am looking forward to trying more flavors! read more

Cute little ice cream shop with a green retro theme. There are a few stool seats inside and some additional seating outside. I ordered a topping of gummy bears and they gave it to me separately in a cup. Nothing really groundbreaking about it but it's a definitely worth a visit if you're craving ice cream. Nice little ice cream shop in park slope. Good dessert spot. The coffee toffee flavor is good.

Had a very weird interaction here. I love to support small business so I ventured to Brooklyn to see what the hullabaloo of heaps was! Very excited, gorgeous little shop in park slope, very quaint. However, I waited until the scooper was done with her phone conversation (I found out later that she was in fact a manager). Upon hang up, any question I had was met with a rolling of eyes and a rude retort. I asked for a single scoop of vanilla then after paying overheard it was only $1 up charge for a 2nd scoop. I Asked for a second scoop as I didn't know the deal. I was then charged another $7 for my additional scoop. I was met with rudeness and condescension. I did not enjoy the ambiance at all and the person serving me was the proverbial cherry on top of my $14 ice cream. Not the attitude for small business neighborhood store! read more

Tried it a couple times because of the reviews, but I really don't know what to think of this place. When you order a pint to go, they only give you a 14oz cup. Considering how much a pint costs, it's a considerable shaving. Aside from this, they did not have the flavor I wanted the first time (and was not available the second time as well) and sent me a completely wrong pint of ice cream today instead of calling me to confirm, exchange, etc. Pretty disappointing after a long week. read more

Since before their grand opening, I have been drawn here every week, bringing a new friend or 3 with me each time. It is delicious. I seem to get a new flavor each time and I cannot choose which is best. They are all excellent. You cannot go wrong. The outdoor seating is ample and there are often good dogs walking by. 10/10 on all levels. This visit, I purchased a coke from the deli across the street and make a black cow with two scoops of their vanilla ice cream. So good. read more

We got ice cream for delivery. I really enjoyed mine, the toffee coffee but was disappointed that there weren't any toffee chunks. My boyfriend got the chocolate peanut butter which I thought tasted great but the color was a little weird. It was black and not chocolatey looking. But overall, I'm glad we tried a new spot! I would say $11.50 is a lot to pay for a pint but nowadays, seems like the norm. read more

Exceptional local ice cream and a charming neighborhood treasure. It's green interior and outdoor bench seating makes it super welcoming for all ages. From the moment I walked in the friendly owners greeted me with genuine warmth and enthusiasm. Their creativity shines not only in their seasonal flavors, but also in their unique treats, like their adorable ice cream sushi The ice cream itself is rich, smooth, and crafted in small batches with high-quality ingredients. I tried the candy bag smash seasonal autumn flavor that I loved and would come back for. I would say this is a great place to bring your friends, kids, loved ones on any day. Amazing ice cream. Berry is very nice. Get the waffle cone for sure!!!! Also can't go wrong with the fresh minty chip.

Just wanted to share a very disappointing experience at Heap's Ice Cream today. My daughter and I stumbled upon an Instagram ad for free ice cream at this location, so we decided to stop by. The event started at 11:30 am and we were probably number 15 on line. We were offered to either choose chocolate or vanilla ice cream outside or wait and be able pick any flavor inside the store (or so we thought). At no point did the worker outside decide to share that we would have to pay for any flavor besides chocolate or vanilla. This was also not on the Instagram ad. After we picked our flavors, the cashier said that he would ring us up. It was at this point that we first heard we had to pay. There were no signs or mention anywhere beforehand that we would have to pay. Apparently this was a surprise to other customers on the line as well. This is just pure bad business. I am writing this not because of the cost but rather the principle. Why not tell the customer first? We would've gladly paid. When another customer mentioned that no one explained we would be charged, the cashier simply shrugged and moved on. It was "National Ice Cream Day" so if you offer free ice cream, please be more specific about the stipulations. You lost many customers today as many vowed never to return. read more

Lovely little ice cream shop. The strawberry match ice cream was a treat. A great dessert spot after date night.

I stopped in to Heap's Ice Cream to sample their goods. It was my fourth attempt getting there because of construction delays. I took a cup of Banana Caramel Bourbon to go, and I ate it in the privacy of my home. My first reaction was Dayum! This is serious gourmet sh*t. I'm sorry that I didn't purchase a pint. $7.08 for a small cup of Gelato is steep, but in this case It was worth it. read more

I haven't had an ice cream soda, more commonly called a "float" these days, in many years. One Saturday I came to visit my granddaughter and decided to treat ourselves to ice cream floats.
