Froyo is back y'all! It was so busy during the 5th Ave street fair a couple weekends ago, the line went out the door. It was my first froyo in a decade probably, so I was surprised that it tasted so... yogurty (tart)? I learned afterwards that that's what makes Culture special and I'm all for it. I came here for a sweet treat one evening after dinner and I loved it. Located near Park Slope, this location is a lot less busy than their Manhattan location (although there still was a fair line at 10pm!). There's some seating both inside and outside, but if it's busy it might be hard to grab a seat. When I went they only had 4 flavors and I decided to go with their original tart. They have a selection of topping combinations or you could choose your own. I decided to go with their parfait combo. The froyo was delicious, their toppings were fresh and plentiful, and the portion was good. Would definitely come back for a healthy dessert option! read more

I'm probably in the minority, but I don't get the hype! I ordered the organic kit-kat flavor with a brownie sundae topping, and it came out to over $10 with tax and tip. The portion size is fine -- not huge, but the combo I got had a heavy flavor profile so I didn't want much more. My main nit, though, is that the froyo had a stronger sour tang than I was expecting, which made the kit-kat chocolate flavor taste a little off, but that may just be a matter of personal taste. I'd probably go with a fruitier flavor next time to match the tang! The brownie topping was just fine: The brownie chunks tasted a little stale, and the chocolate syrup was standard. The service was quick and attentive, and the ambiance inside is casual and clean. There's a decent amount of seating, so it's a nice place to catch up with friends. But I wasn't really wowed by the quality of the froyo, so I'll probably opt for something else next time! read more

1000/10 culture frozen yogurt deserves all the hype. i first discovered this place on tiktok, and as someone who personally loves frozen yogurt, i order from culture a few times a week because it has such a rich, clean, and tart flavor. i enjoy getting tart with oreo crumbles, it has a nice flavor, it's not very sweet, but i think that's what makes it special. the oreos are on the bottom and the top, so every bite has them. i went in person once and was able to try the new flavors. so far i've gotten the berry pie, lychee, cookies and cream, and nutella flavors which were all exceptional. the service is very quick, and there is seating inside if you go in person. read more

I used to live in Park Slope and I admit the only thing I genuinely miss is Culture since I lived nearby. The fro-yo here is made from live probiotic cultures and it's not too sugary. I do love ice cream but due to health reasons, I do not eat it as often as I like to. I do like coming here in the summer with their seasonal flavors like blueberry. I ordered a small blueberry matcha in a cup with mochi. It's tart and not too sweet. I didn't taste much matcha flavor but the blueberry flavor was strong. The mochi was chewy and not hard so it was fresh. I'll definitely be back! It's the only reason I go back to Park Slope. read more

I am obsessed!!!! I knew i would be.... Why are there not more frozen greek yogurt places everywhere. In this day and age it would just make sense. The balsamic strawbs were very yum, i need to come back bc they were out of the unsweetened w a touch of honey and my livelihood depends on being able to try that (although the original was also very nice) read more

Over the past year, my fiancée and I have been consistently getting yogurt from here. The yogurt is simply tasty. One of our favorite casual dessert spot in the neighborhood. They seem to rotate new flavors every so often, but we tend to order the original. Can't recommend this enough! read more

Haven't had frozen yogurt in a long time and was glad I decided to go for some froyo instead of the ice cream truck parked across the street on a hot summer day. It was pretty busy inside and there was a line but it moved pretty quickly. Decent amount of seating inside. Got to sample the original and mango flavors. Both were good but decided to go for the mango instead. Ordered a medium mango froyo with the parfait specialty topping for additional $3, which includes two fruits, a sauce of choice, and granola. Super refreshing and tart treat! read more

The froyo here is really tart! I've heard a lot of hype from their west village location but have only ever been here. The price of a small froyo is comparable to other ice cream spots in the neighborhood like Van Leeuwen, but it's the toppings which will really get you. With two extra toppings I spent $10. Despite the price I think this is a really nice casual dessert spot in neighborhood. read more

I don't really like overly sweet things so gelato is usually my last resort for ice cream. I usually go for soft serves or frozen yogurts. When a friend recommended this place I was so excited! They are not your typical frozen yogurt shop where you enter and there are 5-10 machines where you do self serve style and then they weight you for the price. At the checkout line, they have 6 seasonal rotating flavors you can pick from. You also have the options to pick the 3 predefined swirls they have already created from the existing 6 flavors. I got the strawberry and lemon lavenders swirl. It was refreshing and good. You can try the flavors as well before settling on one. I got the size small which was actually big enough to share with 2-3 people. However, I ate most of it on my own :) read more

I came to Culture for their pop up collaboration with Laufey, where they had a Laufey sundae consisting of matcha yogurt, mochi, and strawberry syrup. The frozen yogurt didn't taste like matcha, so it just tasted like plain frozen yogurt. Despite this flaw, I could tell that the yogurt was really good quality so I don't doubt that their other flavors are good. read more

I ordered the original flavor froyo and picked a maple walnut with banana topping. Froyo was delicious, perfectly tart and creamy, but the topping was way too liquidy and messy. I would've thought there'd be more nuts and less syrup. Just a heads up- this place is pretty expensive. I think I paid $10 for this small cup and honestly, I like it about the same as the pinkberry a few blocks away which is much cheaper. Although it is a local business and they do make everything in house. They also sell yogurts, yogurt drinks, and kefir. read more

Insane. Worth the wait. I am addicted. I have only had the regular orignal tart but I can only sing its praise. Mochi - choc sprinkles - graham crackers is my go to order. I have ordered this for delivery as well and they never miss. I love that they do not skimp on toppings (this is KEY people) and that there are good for you probiotics in the yogurt so when I do want a treat I don't feel like absolute garbage after. read more

This is high quality frozen yogurt with top notch customer service to bring it to the top. It's somewhat pinkberry-esque, with around 6 flavors available to you that you can try and toppings that you can add on top. It's definitely a bit more expensive than froyo usually is (with toppings mine was around $7 for a kids size), but such is the price of happiness. My friend and I were discussing what the most financially smart decision would be relative to number of toppings because each of their toppings are $1, but they also have an option where you can get 3 toppings for $2. So in general it kinda just makes sense to get 3 toppings if you're going to get any at all because 1 topping is too little, and if you get 2 toppings, you might as well get that third one for free. As we were discussing this, the employee at the counter overhears us talking about the most 'financially smart' choice, and she says EASY, you should definitely grab a full pint from the freezer because they're cheaper than the price of a large cup. WHOA. MIND BLOWN. YOU'RE REALLY DIVULGING YOUR SECRETS JUST LIKE THAT? We were like thank you for the tip, but we were going out afterward so we wouldn't be able to take a full pint. She then proceeded to very patiently and attentively listen to us explain to her our predicament about the toppings before she reached the same conclusion: you gotta just get 3 toppings. I ended up getting the mango, which is the best combination of tart and sweet. It has an amazing mango flavor, and I got it with strawberry, blueberry, and mochi. The fruit blended with the mango, and it was truly just the best. I ALMOST FORGOT: THEY PUT TOPPINGS ON THE top AND bottom of the cup. Places that just do that KNOW what they're doing. I trust them. It's an immediate green flag. We vibe. That's that. read more

About ten(ish) years ago when I worked in Midtown Manhattan East, Culture An American Yogurt Company opened up a location near my job. This was during the height of the "Froyo craze" when you couldn't throw a stick without hitting a Pinkberry so I was trying different shops looking for good Froyo. Culture immediately set itself apart from the pack. Their Froyo has wonderful flavor and sweetness without screaming "SUGAR" and it has a wonderful tang to it that I did not get with any other brand. I went often (at least twice a week) but then - they shut down and I thought the entire chain was gone. Much to my delight, I recently saw that Culture has a location in the West Village, but I kid you not, every single time I passed it I had just eaten so I was too full to try it. Recently while visiting Park Slope, I ran into this location and was ecstatic. I headed inside eager to see if their Froyo was still as good as I remembered! The interior is very charming. You can tell this is an older building and the shop was once...*something* else (what, I have no idea). A bright interior, exposed brick and wood counter make this a welcoming shop. The staff was super friendly and patient as I browsed the menu. I wound up ordering Mango Froyo (but I also tried a sample of the Eggnog flavor). The Eggnog flavor was really good, I was very close to getting it. It had wonderful Eggnog flavor but was not overly sweet. The "tang" at the end of a bite that I remembered from the old days was still there and I was thrilled. I wound up getting a kid's size Mango Froyo which is more than enough for me (easily about 8 spoonfuls). Like the Eggnog flavor it was not overly sweet and it had that wonderful tang at the end (I promise that is the last time I will use that word in this review). The mango flavor was perfect. I absolutely loved it. I like to say that you know you really enjoyed something if you leave the place and already want it again and Culture qualifies! I can't wait to go back again soon. read more

Culture is one of my favorite dessert spots in all of NYC! The yogurt and all of the toppings are so fresh. I love the strawberry purée. You can tell that they use fresh strawberries to make it. They also layer the purée at the bottom and on the top, so you get a lot of it. My go to is either the key lime yogurt or orignal yogurt with strawberry purée and cheesecake bites read more

Wow! I'm a huge fan albeit a new one. I'd been eyeing this place forever when walking by but it has just been so cold out the last thing I could think of was frozen yogurt. Anyways, the weather has been wonderful the last several days and while I was on a walk I finally decided it was time to stop in. It's a little pricey compared to other frozen yogurt spots, but the quality is above other frozen yogurt spots, so you get what you pay for. This is frozen Greek yogurt as opposed to frozen regular yogurt, so the taste and texture are slightly different. I got the original which is a nice "plain tart" if you will, and topped it off with strawberries and honey. It made for a tasty treat that didn't feel overly indulgent and might I say - maybe a little healthy? (I'm going to keep telling myself that anyway). They have a decent amount of toppings and flavors. I usually just like plain tart but maybe I'll give some more a shot. Definitely looking forward to trying more toppings on the original for sure! read more

If you love a tart frozen yogurt, you will die for Culture. It is probably the best original tart froyo I have ever had, and I also love their other flavors. What makes Culture super cool is that they actually "culture" all their own yogurts, which in turn have live probiotics. This makes the yogurt healthy and digestible.... along with being delicious. My favorite flavors (and the only ones I've tried: -original tart (I got this with their pumpkin topping and it was unreal. Get it) -raspberry -low fat banana -low fat banana with no sugar added (surprisingly good) You can also get pints to go, along with some repackaged froyo in the freezer. Speaking from experience, the froyo holds a really nice texture from the freezer if you let it thaw for about 5min. Definitely make Culture a destination if you love a good tart froyo! read more

I love tart froyo, especially as a refreshing dessert. And after a delicious dinner of sourdough pizza at Leo, our stomachs pulled us over to Culture on our last night in Brooklyn :) We were greeted by two friendly employees who were both welcoming and offered us samples of their fun froyo flavors (green tea passionfruit! Would have gotten this if I wasn't preggers haha). We ultimately ordered the original and chocolate cherry, both satisfyingly tart and flavorful (I never crave non-fat froyos, not as tasty). The raspberry sauce felt like the tailend of summer, but the pie crust had a bit of a weird flavor like it had soaked up refrigerator smell so I avoided. We got one of their Vermont maple pecan yogurt cups to-go, thick with a good sweetness level for breakfast the next day. Other than the pie crust hiccup, we both really enjoyed and would return on our next Brooklyn visit to try more flavors :) read more

I love frozen yogurt of all forms and Culture is no exception. Their frozen yogurts are very smooth yet rich, not too icy, and with the desired tarty flavor. Original is always a safe choice. They have different flavors depending on the day so experience is variable. I really like their coconut mango! It's more mangoey but there is a subtle hint of coconut. Its pumpkin season and I like pumpkin but not a fan of the pumpkin flavor - just doesn't work for yogurt in my opinion. The prices are on the higher side, and toppings aren't included. I would be inclined to visit more of they were but the quality of the yogurt does make it justifiable. read more

This yogurt is so damn good. Can you please open up another location in Williamsburg?? It's perfect yogurt, not too sweet and just a little tart. No toppings necessary. There aren't very many froyo places near me, and this is still a bit of a trek for us.. but if you're in the area, I recommend Culture! It's on a busy street with a lot of restaurants and right across the park. Prime location! It definitely has a local/neighborhood feel, and when we went on a nice Saturday afternoon, there was a small line to get in. I noticed a lot of people getting the ready-made yogurt in the fridge, so must be a popular item to bring home. They had about 4 different flavors to choose from and a long list of toppings. It looks like they also serve drinks and smoothies. We opted for a small Original flavor froyo with 4 toppings. It's definitely not on the cheap end.. it cost over $7 for our small, but it was a nice treat! I love tart flavors (think Pinkberry), and this was a good amount of tart. You can get 1 topping for $0.75 or 4 toppings for $1.50. I do wish they packed a little bit more.. my bf ate all the granola in 1 bite :( I'm glad I don't live nearby, because I'd come every week! read more

I really wish I lived closer to this place, because they make a great product. The original flavor of fat free fro-yo tastes like the euro tart I always would get from pinkberry. The reason for not giving 5-stars is that my delivery orders are always wrong. Given wrong product, half full containers, and the toppings are a rip off. Maybe a half frozen strawberry diced up for a dollar. I really wish they could fix their delivery because I'd order much more often. read more

A cool treat is the perfect respite from a hot summer's day, and Culture was my place to stop for a Greek frozen yogurt. After getting a sample, I settled on the "original" flavor, which was very tart and icey--not particularly thick or creamy, which made me question why this was called "Greek" frozen yogurt. A cone of this was rather expensive at close to five dollars, and while the setting was fine for a quick stop, it didn't feel particularly cozy, clean, or welcoming for a longer stay. Glad to have tried it, but probably wouldn't rush to be back. read more

This place holds up to all the amazing reviews ! The yogurt is BOMB!!! It's that perfect balance of sweet but not to sweet. I'm a huge fan of soft serve icecream and having American yogurt nearby has been such a great replacement. The Nutella and original are pretty amazing and they always have different flavors! The place is SUPER CLEAN INSIDE AND STAFF IS NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING!! They always offer samples the second you walk in, it doesn't feel like they just want to take you're order and bye! They really know how to manage a long line by giving free samples as people decide on what they want! IVE BEEN THERE TWICE AND DEFINITELY WILL RETURN! The PRICE lured me to four stars but I guess when you compare it to a medium at carvel it's like two dollars more and there not cheap with there portion size. I guess you can say you pay for quality. A medium with specialty topping will be a little less than $7 dollars. I know so steep but so good! They have a bunch of specialty topping combinations that are oh so yummy and you can choose you're own toppings so whatever floats your boat. Maple Vermont is my absolute favorite.
