Oddfellows has been creating weird and delicious ice cream flavors for over a decade around New York. The chef behind it all came from WD-50 originally (excellent pedigree), and while I haven't enjoyed every single flavor I've tried, I have had my mind blown by at least a few (black sesame cookies and cream?!). You may not have cared about any of that, but eating ice cream in the park is something everyone can get behind. Whether you're just wandering around, you're in need of a post-soccer snack at Pier 5, or if you're coming here on a mission for ice cream, it's almost always a good decision. They usually have some more accessible flavors in addition to the wacky, as well as soft serve for the kiddos and the fabulous Newyorkina popsicles if you want a lighter cold treat. I like how conveniently this Oddfellows Ice Cream shop is located right next to Brooklyn Bridge Pier 5. It's overlooking the gorgeous NY skyline with a brand new kids' playground to ensure your kids get their dose of sweets. The flavors change often and are posted on the board. The one day I decided to get some ice cream, many of the flavors were Asian-influenced, which is my favorite. This made choosing a flavor so difficult, so I opted for the Ice Cream Flight ($12.05), which has 6 flavor options. I had the rice krispie, coffee crunch, matcha strawberry, ube marshmallow, black sesame oreo, and coconut pandan. The scoops are tinier than if you got a cone, but it's perfect when you want variety. The bowl did start to get soggy ad the ice cream was melting though, so I'd suggest better container for the flights. Either way, great ice cream spot in a prime location for the summer days. this is an ice cream shop located outdoors in the brooklyn bridge park area near the soccer field and basketball courts. i stopped by on a weekday evening, and they had a lot of fun options on the menu. however, one thing to note is that you're not able to sample flavors beforehand, which can make choosing a bit difficult. i went with my go-to, a chocolate ice cream on a cone, and it was very good. it was creamy, decadent, and rich, and perfect for a hot summer day. i do wish i could have tried some of the other flavors, since they had a lot of fun and unique combinations. there was no line when i went, but while i was nearby on the field, i did notice a steady line throughout the evening. the service was overall great. also, there is no seating in the immediate area, but it's a nice place to walk around and enjoy your ice cream. read more

Offshoot of Oddfellows very conveniently located right at the heart of Pier 5 (if you're walking around Brooklyn Bridge Park) On those super hot summer days you'll be EXTREMELY thankful (like I was) that they are right where they are when you're in need of some really delightful and refreshing ice cream. This shop offers single, double, triple scoops or flights for the adventurous with 10 different flavors to pick from. I decided to get a single scoop of Strawberry Jam (Strawberry ice cream with swirls of fresh strawberry jam) on a sugar cone to share with my family and it was just what the doctor ordered. I admit, I'm absolutely addicted to anything strawberry, especially ice cream, so I couldn't resist the Strawberry Jam. Was it a question I would like it? Nope. As expected, it was tasty, delicious and amazingly refreshing. And my kids would attest to that opinion too, so it's kid approved. Yes, it was a bit on the pricey side at $6.51 for a single scoop, but you can't put a price on really good, solid ice cream. Definitely a good investment while strolling around the park. read more

Located nearby some of the more picturesque parts of Brooklyn Bridge Park, this is one of the multiple locations of this ice cream spot with many unique flavors. I have tried a few flavors but my favorite by a lot is one of their more popular ones; the Miso Cherry. Consisting of miso butterscotch ice cream base paired with sweet cherries, it is very tasty. I'm usually not the biggest fan of sweet cherries (and especially if there are chunks) but it works quite well here combined with the semi-sweet ice cream. The Passionfruit Apricot Pistachio I had once with passionfruit ice cream, apricot jam ribbons, and chopped pistachios was also solid as well though I wish there was more of a pistachio flavor. Another Ny warm day Whoot whoot. I joined the line to try a new flavor at odd fellows. Today i ordered the COOKIES & MINT that had Mint ice cream swirled with crushed chocolate cookies. I loved that it wasn't too sweet and that the cookies tasted like brownies. The mint is not overpowering. The mint ice cream had a subtle taste with smooth "brownie like" pieces inside. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed eating this flavor. I hope mango mochi sticky rice flavor will be still available next time I go. The staff is super patient and kind. OddFellows took over the sweet spot occupied by Ample Hills on the Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier, but unfortunately had to open amidst Covid, protests, curfew, etc. etc. Still, it's a great spot for the summer months, and will undoubtedly have a line soon as more and more people forget all about social distancing and everybody packs into parks with the nice weather. We stopped by here after visiting the pier. They have such unique flavors and it's a perfectly located place to tempt you to get ice cream. Especially on a hot summer day. I got the cheesecake oreo ice cream in a cup and it tasted really good. I also liked that it wasn't a typical ice cream which is always nice. My family got the chocolate soft serve and they were really happy. Apparently a chocolate soft serve is rare so they were very happy. read more

If you find yourself down by the peir this is a really nice treat. The scoops were a decent size for the price and tasted great. I had a vegan scoop and a regular and couldn't taste any difference. They change the options regularly which is nice for variety but bad if you were going to get the same flavor on a repeat visit. my friend and i decided to stop by this place yesterday afternoon since we were craving ice cream. -this location has different flavors compared to their shop in dumbo. oddfellows' summer flavors (strawberry rhubarb, key lime pie brooklyn blackout, and ricotta lemon sponge cake) are not available at this location. however, they still have a pretty wide variety of ice creams/sorbets to choose from; you can also opt for vanilla or chocolate soft serve! -you order at their window on the right and then you pick up your ice cream at the left window. they only accept card payments. there's lots of tables nearby outside where you can eat. -the staff are friendly and open to giving recommendations if you ask for them! they are not giving samples due to the pandemic. the lines can get pretty long depending on the day, but we didn't have to wait for long this time. 7/20/21 -peanut butter s'mores: i feel like this tasted more like peanut butter chocolate chip ice cream, rather than peanut butter s'mores. i didn't really get that "toastiness/burnt" marshmallow flavor that s'mores tend to have. however, i appreciated the added texture that they added along with the peanut butter cookies mixed inside. the peanut butter and chocolate went really well together, so i still enjoyed it a lot. i wish that the consistency/texture was pretty creamy, but not as creamy as some other ice cream places that i've been to. a single scoop of this costed $6 with tax, and the portion was quite fair as well. (4.5/5) -exotic fruits sorbet: my friend got this and was also very happy with it. she said it was super refreshing on a hot summer day! the dominant taste is passionfruit; but, there's also supposed to be banana, guava, and mango flavors inside. she also got a single scoop on a cone, which i believe was the same price as mine.
