First, I'm grateful that Ready Rooter was able to fit me in the same day, our hot water heater starting leaking water in my basement. One the two techs, Nate & Milton, showed up & I walked them into the house, immediately I noticed that one the techs (Nate) had the courtesy of wearing bootys on his boots before he walked in, while the other tech did not have a any precautions. Then the very next sentence out of the tech who seem to be the lead, (was holding a tablet) "you need a new unit" without touching or inspecting the heater in question. Not even for one second or to humor me. It felt very deceptive way of selling me a new hot water heater. Yikes. The unit did get replaced, as I felt cornered but It would create some level of trust if they at the very least inspected the old one before recommending a $3,500 plus investment on our house. At this point, the replacement was authorized & they were supposed to get started on the job. I went on to do some chores around the house while they did the job but did not see them for a while. I had to leave to pick up someone from the airport & could not find the two guys from Ready Rooter any where, their truck was gone too. I was very confused but I had to go so I thought I locked my house & left (I figured they'd be back & would wait for me). To my utter shock they had come into my house when I was gone & started working while NO ONE let them in. (I did not realize I forgot to lock the front door) I could not believe they opened my house!! The job took longer than I anticipated & as they worked the tech, Nate, always wore boot coverings while the other tech did not. When the job was done, Milton was ready to get paid & without asking sat on our couch, dirty work pants from working all day. When I went to look at the newly installed hot water heater I noticed they left some stuff behind & the cover on the wires were not installed fully. This time was completely different. The tech, Adam, pressured me to do a massive invasive repair within 30 days or lose my fee -- even though we've used the bathroom for 3 years with no issue. We're talking opening up walls, ripping into dining room, etc. As a young female homeowner, I felt deeply unsafe and coerced. There was no empathy for receiving a multi thousand dollar bill and paying it within a month for a claimed urgent (but not urgent) problem. I'm not going to sugar coat this because at first I was very upset with Ready Rooter. The original plumber who was sent out for our emergency leak charged us over $1100.00 to REPLACE the waste drain in our crawl space. I found out 2 days later that all he did was slathered the broken piece in glue and he called it good. A call to their office was met with an honest sounding apology and a promise to send someone out to inspect it in the morning. Indeed, that is exactly what happened. Tristian a project manager, inspected the so called replacement and informed us we were exactly right, it had not been replaced. He also apologized profusely and and said he'd be sending a plumber the very next morning to replace the said issue plus he said he was adding on an additional 10 feet. Today as promised, first thing in the morning, Dave arrived and replaced what was promised. We were so relieved that this company stood by their word and MADE IT RIGHT. Today Dave showed up first thing and he did the work and Tristian was out and inspected the work. Both apologizing again what had happened to us. We are so pleased that they were so professional and owned up to what their previous employee did to us. Three days ago I would have given them a 1 star because of what the previous employee did to us. But because they honored their word and made it right they deserve a 5 star review. Absolutely a SCAM! We have a Bosch tankless water heater that is not giving us hot water. Promised to be here between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and arrived at 6 p.m. Did NOT fix anything and charged us $300 for NOTHING. I asked that they please call me the next day and of course, they did NOT. Instead they emailed, offering a date that was YESTERDAY. The two technicians, Brandon and Aziz were wonderful and very kind. But they could not do anything to help us. I'm SO disgusted. They even helped us get connected with Quick Dry Restoration, who came out to help us same day! We had a leak and someone came out for an estimate. He was here for about 2 minutes. He told me it would be $500 to cut open the drywall then they would give me an estimate to fix the issue. He seemed like he just wanted to leave as fast as possible instead of diagnosing the issue. I got a competent plumber out and he actually took a few minutes and used a moisture detector. The issue turned out to be completely unrelated to where the first guy wanted to cut open the wall. Which means I would have paid $500 to cut open the drywall when it was unnecessary then I would have had to repair it on top of whatever they would have charged to fix the real problem. They listened actively, empathized and explained this was not usual behavior for one of their plumbers and that they'd speak with the plumber about their behavior. The owner apologized profusely and sent me a gift to apologize and make things right with me. This restored my trust in Ready Rooter because I understand that things will go wrong now and then but it's what you do to rectify mistakes that maintains trust and based on the owner's follow up my trust in Ready Rooter is restored. I *would* consider them for future plumbing work. ORIGINAL (2 stars): Quick to respond but outrageous pricing - they wanted $1,100 labor to install a garbage disposal, 3x the best rate I found. Our toilet would sometime refill to the rim after a flush and also sewage water would come up thru the bathtub drain. Called ready rooter and the plumber said it was definitely the age of the toilet and a new modern toilet would fix the problem. Then they went down in the crawl space to check the main drain pipe and said that water was leaking onto the main drain discharge pipe and eventually it would rust and result in a hole and leak sewage into the crawl space and flood. Was quoted $2900.00 to fix it. The following day a supervisor came to check the quote for the main drain and quoted a price of $12100 for fix the leak and replace the 5 foot section of the supposedly rusted drain pipe. Desperate to get a working toilet and not being knowledge about plumbing issues agreed to the price. After they dug out the dirt surrounding the main drain pipe on the outside of the foundation they found water pooling at the bottom of the the hole and said that the drain was blocked, who would have guessed and the pipe needed to be jetted. The following day now day 4 of repairs they Jetted the main drain pipe for 3 hours and could not clear the pipe. Charge of $1650.00 plus tax. On day 5 of repairs they finally scoped the pipe and found that the concrete pipe had collapsed and is the cause of the blockage. Already in for $ 15,000.00 they wanted another $21,500.00 plus tax to fixed the collapsed pipe. Agreed to the price but after consideration decided to seek other bids. Found a local excavation expert and got bid for 1/3 the original bid and found out had been overcharged for the crawl space main drain repair by $10,000.00 dollars. Ready rooter ought to be ashamed for scamming customers of thousands of dollars, when they know people are under stress for lack of working toilets and make hasty decisions Their repairmen were very nice and hard working, I hold the owners responsible for this reprehensible behavior. The numbers below here can mostly speak for themselves. Collected quite a few quotes to reline a sewer main that was pretty severely blocked by tree roots that had grown between the old clay pipes. Ready Rooter communicated well and was friendly upon arriving to provide a quote, but felt they pushed a little too hard to hydro jet the sewer main immediately even though I had already paid another company to resolve the urgent flooding issue in my basement. They said I could apply the cost of hydro jet to final price of relining the sewer main b/c that was required eventually anyway...but man, look at the pricing here. They came in over $20k above my cheapest quote to reline the sewer main. Company 1 - $17,778 Company 2 - $18,030 Company 3 - $20,948 Company 4 - $23,037 Company 5 - $24,805 Company 6 - $29,824 Ready Rooter - $38,500 After receiving the astonishing quote from Ready Rooter, they called back 3 days later after not hearing from me suggesting they'd drop the price $3,500. Unfortunately, still not even close to being in the ballpark. EDIT: I want to give them benefit of the doubt here. I didn't bother trying to see if they could come closer to the other quotes b/c it was so high. I also can't speak to the quality of their work. Maybe they just genuinely misquoted me due to lack of experience or knowledge on big jobs like this? I'm willing to accept that take, but it's still not great even if it's better than them actively trying to take advantage of me. At the very least, I'd just make sure you get more quotes if you're considering working with Ready Rooter. read more

Ready Rooter came next day, then things went downhill. Had communication failures for both scheduling a locator and when he would arrive and then when the repair could be made. I received only a verbal estimate of the leak repair after locating it and prior to any digging being done. This estimate was exceedingly high, and I never received the written email estimate as promised. I did receive the invoice for the inflated locator fee charged, which may have been done by a contractor as his communication with the team that was supposed to meet him on site was inaccurate. He, however, did do a good job of locating the leak. The verbal repair estimate for the leak was almost three times higher than I paid to have it repaired by another professional plumber. If you have a lot of money to spend, it may be worth paying these inflated prices. It wasn't for me. read more
