tl;dr: Fair pricing, quick, reliable and professional work, kind personalities. After being forced to snake my drains every couple of months, the galvanized pipes in my 60 year old home finally decided to call it quits and I decided it was time to replace them. I started getting estimates from different companies, and Wyatt from Piper's came out to see the scope of the work. Whenever hiring contractors I try to understand beforehand the work involved with the hypothetical if I had to do the work myself, that way when walking through the project with the person giving an estimate it helps me figure out the rough bound of what I think the project should cost in labor and materials and to help me catch if there's additional "work" or costs that get put into the bid. With this in mind, when Wyatt walked through the issues he saw and roughly the work involved to fix the issues, it was nothing but an accurate assessment. I felt comfortable bouncing ideas of what made sense to try and tackle in the scope of the repair and what might be unnecessary as there was no real sense of an upsell, just what seemed like honest, professional opinions. Time is money for lots of these companies, and sometimes estimates get rushed which happened in some of the estimates I received; but not with Piper's. They took the time to understand what my priorities were, what constraints there were, and give fair realistic suggestions. After accepting what I believed to be a very fair bid, they were able to schedule the work and came exactly when they said they would. My plumber was Wyatt with a secondary helper - both did a fantastic job and were great at what they needed to do, so only praise there. They were respectful, used shoe covers and moving pads so as to not track dirt on my carpet, cleaned up all the debris from the work, and showed great care in their work. They also were considerate of my requests to minimize the cuts into the drywall and whereas many other bids told me it was necessary to cut drywall in three different rooms for the work they took on the extra inconvenience and were able to keep all the cuts contained to just the bathroom. Time will tell how well the work holds up, but as of now I have the utmost confidence the work will last. read more

I truly appreciate your professionalism and providing a FREE assessment. The guys who came out to assess the leaking bath tub issue recommended we get it all glued up with a new gasket. Then I had another Plumber come out to look at it and told us this is NOT NECESSARY. He tightened the drain plug /overflow screws and that fixed the leaking problem. The water was just leaking in between that gap from overfilling the tub. But I'm giving you 4 stars because he DID advise me that I didn't need a water heater flush yet since it's only a year old. And he advised us we could easily do it ourselves, when I told him my husband and son work for SPU in Seattle. I needed my sewer line checked for roots, as that had been a problem in the past. Patrick, one of the owners, came to my house and scoped it out. There were roots in the line. He spent extra time to be sure it was clear before he left, and explained my options for some repairs that need to be made. He had quoted me a price up front, and that was the price I paid. Blaine was incredible. Our project involved replacing a worn clawfoot tub with a new freestanding tub. It required moving the drain and hot/cold inlets, but we did not want to tear up the tile floor. In short, it became a highly custom job. Blaine spent over an hour helping us brainstorm, design and analyze several options until we settled on a solution that relocated the drain with a minimum amount of floor impact, and integrated exposed copper pipes in the design to create an elegant look. His hard work in making the project a reality was just as good as the design work - he not only installed the tub, pipes, and faucet; he answered all my pesky questions, helped me with tile trimming, faucet shelf, and other miscellaneous items, even going the extra mile to answer all my extra homeowner plumbing questions. I reached out to Pipers for a longstanding problem with cast iron pipes creating a clogging issue in my primary bathroom. Andrew responded immediately and sent a crew to assess the problem. The crew worked quickly and efficiently using a long snake and video technology. After viewing the problem, I decided to ask to for quote for repair. This was the second company that I called to come and sort out the issue. Piper's quote came under the first company's quote. Two days later, a crew worked in my crawl space, removed yards if old iron pipes and replaced with new, Black ABS pipes. They worked all day and completed my project! Great response and customer service. Patrick was able to clear the below ground blockage in the large PVC pipe using his camera and Hydro water pressure. We had been unable to clear the blockage with a cable snake which adds risk to the below ground pvc. It's raining hard at this time and all drains are clear! read more

Pipers Drain Repair is amazing!! We had an emergency sewer backup in our Queen Anne home and flooded our entire basement. Andrew at Pipers provided an upfront estimate to cable the line and remove the tree roots. They were able to clear the line but in doing so, uncovered a pretty bad sewer break in our old concrete pipe. Pipers provided a very reasonable estimate to fix my broken sewer and install a pipe liner to the main. I sent an email at 10pm so I wouldn't forget to call in the morning and got an immediate call back. They came first thing this morning and replaced the pipes under my sink to make them align and seal properly--something my kitchen contractor failed to do several years ago. They also cleaned out the clog that had been backing up the drain since we bought the house 11 years ago. Since they'd charged me less than I'd been mentally bracing for and they gave my visiting father some great advice on replacing the wax seal when you install a new toilet, I asked them to replace the leaking wax seal on a toilet my husband had recently installed. Had a very slow drain in the sink that was getting worse. Called Pipers on Friday, Started Saturday morning right on time at 9 . I was hoping for a " run the 25 foot snake down, pull some stuff out and good to go". No luck , time for the heavy equipment, swap out 25 foot for 50 feet and try. Long story short Patrick worked very, very hard, and between the 50 foot snake and camera probe he broke the grease clog free . Did I mention the steep driveway he had the lug the gear up and down. I had a sewer back up in my house and it was the worst thing I've ever experienced. The bottom level of our home was nearly ruined. Belongings included. Going through something like this was devastating. Patrick and his crew came out to my house and quickly diagnosed the issue and let me know the line was broken and that's what was causing the back up. They were able to help me get a screaming deal with a restoration company to clean up the mess and they had the repair made within a few hours of their initial visit. They took the time and explained things to where we understood them despite our confusion at first. Everybody knows someone or has experienced a shady contractor, price gouging or something along those lines. These guys are NOT that. They are everything you want in a contractor. Thorough with EVERYTHING and I mean everything. From what we could tell this company was newer, but they DEFINITELY know the sewer game.
