THIS IS THE SECOND TIME we have posted this review. The first one was removed by Yelp for "not enough detail." We can only wonder if Bee's had something to do with that, as they will apparently fight like heck to get negative reviews removed. Bee's Plumbing requires approximately $100 to come out and look at your problem. The money can be applied to any work done. Beware, though! They will give an outrageous estimate. You won't want them to do work at their quoted price, but you're now out $100 for nothing. Find yourself a company that does not operate in this manner. Our first problem was a leak at the kitchen sink. We were not having, and never mentioned, blockage problems, only a leak at the sink drain. However, they proposed to change out the plumbing under the kitchen sink because "the baffle you have can cause blockages." Our second problem was a broken part under the bathroom sink. They advised a faucet replacement. A new part could be easily obtained; the job did not warrant an entire faucet replacement. After we declined the kitchen sink re-plumbing and the bathroom sink faucet replacement, the two workers went out to their truck for a long time, so long that I finally went outside to ask what was up and to find out what their charge would be to fix the kitchen sink leak. They refused to answer or leave their truck until they finished researching a faucet replacement, which they were still proposing. We had no choice but to go back inside the house and wait it out . . . finally they came to the door with an estimate of over $700 to fix the two kitchen sink drains for our leak problem. At that point we told them we were done. Later, we called Moen and they mailed out a new bathroom sink part (for free!) and then another plumber installed it (also for free, since it took only five minutes and he was here anyway for the kitchen sink fix). The new plumber's rates were far, far more reasonable than the Bee's quote. We received an email from Bee's after they were here to which we replied with a complaint about their practices. We never heard back. However, when we gave a negative Yelp review, we heard back immediately! In fact, we received multiple emails and phone calls. They gave the most absurd excuses for their behavior on the original visit; for instance, claiming that they were not happy with the way the guy "in training" had spoken to us. It was really difficult to get them off the phone, as they were insistent on making things right somehow because their "reputation is so important" to them. We did not want to bargain with them in any way about their service or amends of any kind or our Yelp review. We were definitely through with them because of what seemed to us like dishonest business practices. After the third call we demanded that Bee's never call us again. We are not the first to give a similar review, so it looks like Bee's has chosen not to change their ways. This seems to be their business model. read more

Seattle is EXPENSIVE! And it is very difficult to get quality work swiftly. Bee's was as good as it gets . . . prices were a little high, but after discussing options & the extent of work we needed, it was clear that the prices were well within range . . . plus they were out VERY quickly. They identified the true issue behind our immediate issue . . . which probably will save us thousands in other plumbing failures in the future. In other words, they didn't just fix the one problem, collect payment & move on . . . Ben took the time to provide FANTASTIC customer service and identified the root of our problem. He's very knowledgeable in both HVAC and plumbing . . . and the next time I have any issue . . . Bee's Plumbing and Heating will be our FIRST and ONLY call. Thank you for caring. So a note on the pricing: they use a pricing provider that bases pricing on Seattle prices, not national averages. You're going to find that is the case with all of the local *licensed, bonded and insured* Seattle HVAC and plumbing contractors . . . if you're getting a toilet installed for the national average ($376 according to Home Advisor in November 2017) you're probably not dealing with a licensed contractor, you're dealing with an apprentice, or you're going to wait days or weeks to get someone in. Ben extended me $400/toilet & gave me $100/toilet discount for hauling the toilets away myself. So he was less than the national average & FAR less than the average in Seattle . . . I had him do 3 toilets, 2 faucet installs and a furnace repair . . . so if you have a bunch of work, he'll work with you. If you're looking for a single toilet install . . . you should expect a little more: like probably $450 or so. He offers a deal here on Yelp too, which I didn't see until after he was here, but he built in the discount for me anyway. If you read any of the negative reviews here on Yelp, (and I read them & called them anyway) know that those reviews are from people who are fundamentally clueless. I actually discussed the two reviews I read with Ben while he was here. A word to the wise: if your HVAC specialist warns you that your water heater is improperly vented & spewing carbon monoxide into your home . . . there's a good chance you should probably listen to them . . . not leave a one star review. Bee's is an owner operated husband and wife team whose service goes above & beyond . . . and really, that is just awesome to find now days. I HIGHLY recommend them. read more

The 5-star rating is mostly about the technicians and the job done. Trent and Bryson showed up the first thing in the morning of the scheduled day. I had planned on getting my kitchen waste disposal and a toilet replaced. When they checked my kitchen sink, they found my faucet hard to pivot (which has been annoying me for years) and said they could include it in the quote. The quote for installing the disposal (I already got one from Lowes), a new faucet and installation, and a new ToTo toilet and installation was about $2,200 plus tax. It was more than what I was prepared for, so I told them to just replace the disposal. They were fine with this and didn't push further, which I appreciated. As they were preparing the job, I did more research. Although I could save several hundred dollars if I purchase the items with installation from Lowes, I had a very bad experience trying to schedule the disposal installation through them which wasted me a lot of time, so I eventually decided to ask them to do all three while they were here. Trenton and Bryson were efficient and got everything done in the morning. They did a nice job and cleaned up everything well. They were professional and courteous. It was pleasant interacting with them. The rest of this review is about the company. Scheduling with them was pretty easy. They had availability right away, although this was also the case with the other two companies I called. All three companies charged dispatch fee which can be waived if you decide to work with them. Bee's Plumbing was the highest one at $99, and I had to say that they didn't mention this until I asked (they were the 3rd company I called, so I learned). I called these companies when I was out of town. When they told me they could send someone on the same day or the next day and the dispatch fee, I told them I would call them after I got back in town. The other two companies were fine with this, but Bee's Plumbing told me they were having a promotion and they could give me $59 off, and they could schedule in advance. So I scheduled a day with them. The most inconvenient thing with Bee's Plumbing is that their schedule window is a whole day from 8 am to 5 pm, and they texted me at 7 am on the scheduled day to let me know someone will arrive between 8:30 and 9:30. I have a regular job and that scheduled day was probably the only day out of an entire month that I could have a whole day open. This may make working with them again in the future difficult. read more

I contacted Bee's Plumbing for an issue with my footing drain mainline. The mainline had been invaded by root weed vegetation that had likely rehydrated with recent rain. I was placed on their schedule for the same day which was excellent; additional rain was expected. Throughout the day I was contacted multiple times, each time providing updated arrival window information and service call position. I found this extra step a nice personal touch and allowed me to run a few errands knowing I had a 30-minute window to be home prior to my technician's arrival. My technician was Dillon. He was accompanied by an apprentice, Salih. Both introduced themselves and were professional, courteous, knowledgeable and listened to the narrative of my issue. After approximately an hour or so, the weed root vegetation was sufficiently cut using a mechanical cable device with a cutting tool attachment that dislodged the remaining root vegetation and clearing the mainline. As a side note. I have a second mainline drain for the peripheral yard and driveway. Dillon inspected the peripheral drain and clean-out and informed me it was working properly and showed no signs of being clogged. He suggested a maintenance procedure to ensure continual drain flow. Once both mainlines had been inspected, Dillon used a camera to verify all root vegetation had been removed from the footing drain mainline. He also was able to locate the spot where the root weed began its invasion and marked the location on the ground with the depth noted. He advised me of future maintenance protocol to prevent the same problem in the future. I appreciated his time, information, and future invasion prevention suggestion. I cannot say whether Bee's Plumbing was more or less expensive than another plumbing company. To me, the cost was worth the timeliness of the appointment, the courtesy and professionalism of both Dillon and Salih, not to mention my mainline is clear and I no longer am concerned about water backing up into my crawlspace. I would hire them again in the future and will do so for the suggested maintenance by Dillon. read more

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Bee's Plumbing. This was my second time using them--my first experience with Jose was great, which is why I returned. However, this time was nothing short of frustrating and unprofessional. Our boiler was working, but it would occasionally shut off abruptly, requiring frequent restarts. When Jeff, the technician, arrived, he immediately focused on a water leak--even though the leak wasn't even happening at that time. Despite this, Jeff insisted that I needed to replace the entire system, quoting a ridiculous $28K. When I questioned why a full replacement was needed, he suddenly offered a $7K alternative but still did not address the original issue with the boiler itself. Before Jeff's visit, I had done my own research and found a few possible causes for the issue, including: Ignitor Failure - It may be dirty, damaged, or malfunctioning. Gas Valve Issue - The gas valve may be faulty or not opening properly. Flame Sensor Issue - A dirty or faulty flame sensor could prevent ignition. However, Jeff did not check any of these. Instead, he fixated on a water leak and pushed for an unnecessary replacement. To make matters worse, Jeff later called me and was rude, claiming that I had been trying to get in touch with him when I had not. His tone was condescending and unhelpful, leaving me feeling disrespected and frustrated. I decided to get a second opinion from another technician, who identified the actual issue--a faulty flame sensor. As for the leak? The solution was simple: tighten a screw. Once that was done, the system worked perfectly. I feel completely misled by Bee's Plumbing. Rather than diagnosing the real problem, they tried to push me into a costly replacement without justification. I can't help but feel like this was an attempt to scam me. I also believe they should refund the diagnostic fee, as the service was completely useless. I would strongly caution others to be wary of their tactics. read more

Any household plumbing issue can be nerve-wracking & stressful but the team at Bee's has been incredible every step of the way, especially technicians José C. & Bogey. After being out of town around Christmas, I came home New Year's eve to find a leaky water main valve. I'd also been having concerns about my tankless water heater & radiant heating. I expected to just leave a voice mail & have someone contact me after the holiday, but not only was my call answered, an appointment was scheduled promptly with José, whose specialties include hydronic, radiant & boiler systems. José not only fixed the main water valve leak in minutes upon arriving, he thoroughly diagnosed the issues with my tankless water heater, as well as a new concern (excessively high water pressure coming into the house). José thoroughly walked me through the several options available to address the leaking/under-performing water heater & incoming high water pressure. He & Bogey patiently answered my questions, allowing me to weigh the pros & cons of each repair/replacement option, and all without any judgement for how some deferred maintenance on my part may have avoided or addressed these issues earlier. José & Bogey made me feel at ease with their knowledge & courteous professionalism. I knew I could trust making the decision to move forward with repairs that were both more extensive & costly than originally anticipated. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship is evident in the completed repairs, including replacing a failed valve in the aging water heater and installing a new pressure reducing valve (which involved cutting into drywall & creating some beautifully impressive new external pipe work). Our experience with PJ and Jim from Bee's was a lot of things: easy, well-priced, timely, and professional, just to name a few. But it was also an extremely valuable lesson for us in homeownership. We'd gotten a quote from Bee's to replace our water heater in August 2022. Our thinking then was basically that, even though our water heater was old, we weren't having any actual problems with it. We decided not to move forward with the replacement at that time. Then, last week, it up and died without a moment's notice (as they apparently tend to do). We knew that between inflation and supply chain shortages, there was no way we'd be able to get the same price we'd been quoted last year. So, we called Bee's and Beacon for quotes. While I'm sure Beacon does great work, we weren't thrilled with our quote experience. The tech literally spent 5 seconds looking at the pilot light and told us we'd need a new one, no two ways about it, and that it'd be $8300. (Significantly more than Bee's quote in 2022.) Bee's quote, shockingly, came in slightly under Beacon's. They also took the time to explain exactly what all our options were, in addition to the tankless heater we were interested in, and explained not just the price differences, but the specific benefits and drawbacks of each option. It's one of the only times we've EVER worked with a service provider for home improvement and felt like we were actually making an informed choice instead of backed into a corner. We couldn't be happier with the installation procedure and the new tankless heater itself. We'll be going straight to Bee's (and PJ and Jim, if they're available) for our upcoming bathroom remodel! read more

After trying a couple other residential pluming companies with mixed results, I found Bee's plumbing via an online search. Based on the reviews I was hopeful that Bee's plumbing could be the company I've been looking for, unfortunately they turned out to be similar to the rest. I had two jobs at my residence which I needed a plumbing to help with, 1. descaling my tankless water heater 2. install an extension to my septic line for RV septic tank draining. The descaling went well and was within the expected price, however the septic line extension consisted of adding 3 feet of pipe to my existing line and placing an elbow and cap at the end. The extension took them 40 minutes to complete, after which they charged me $1800. In fairness, they did provide me an up front estimate for both, making me think that the extension was going to be a much larger effort. In my personal opinion, $1800 for 40 minutes of work, in a crawl space that provided 5 feet of clearance, seemed rather steep. Since the technicians didn't seem to have much flexibility on the pricing, I had them move forward with the work and talked to the Bee's management team about my concerns. Based on our conversation, the Bee's highly customer focused staff worked with me on a price adjustment. Bee's has proven that they are focused on their customers and backed up their customer satisfaction pledge. I would definitely recommend Bee's pluming moving forward. A company sets itself apart, not when everything goes well, but how they do when things become challenging, Bee's team stepped up provided a great outcome to a challenging situation. I had leak in my upstairs bathroom that was leaking into the dining room wall below. I looked on Yelp for local plumbers with great reviews. Of all the companies that I called Bee's Plumbing actually answered the phone. They were able to schedule my appointment within a day. One thing that I really appreciated from Bee's was all of the appointment reminder's that I received. For each visit, I receive an email reminder the day prior. The day of, I received an email, text, and phone call to let me know when the technician was on his way to my home. When Ben came to my home to assess the problem, he was very detailed in explaining to me what all of my options were and why each element of the job was necessary for the best result. And he was very patient with all of my questions. Each quote that we discussed was emailed to me immediately. During the assessment, Ben showed me that a portion of the bathroom sub-floor had rotted completed and needed to be replaced in order for Ben to securely attach the new toilet flange. Ben took the initiative to call a contractor that he knew and the contractor scheduled me the next day to repair the sub-floor. After the contractor removed the rotted sub-floor and installed the new one, Bee's was able to get me on the schedule the very next day. For Ben's next visit, I requested some additional plumbing tasks that weren't a part of the original plan. Ben didn't fuss. He just gave me a quote for those also and took care of everything that day. I really enjoyed my experience with Bee's Plumbing and I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

My water company alerted me that I had a leak somewhere in my system. I was able to determine that the leak was outside - which was a terrible prospect as I live on half an acre with a large driveway and multiple planting beds, lawns, trees, etc. Luke came out almost immediately and was also alarmed by the difficulties of the property, but assured me he could help. He quickly set up an appointment for the following Monday. His 'water leak finder' guy was right on time and after all sorts of technical work, he found the leak. Meanwhile, Luke showed up (on the very early end of the allotted time frame) and explained to me exactly what needed to be done and how much it would likely cost. He then got right to work and quickly fixed the problem. Not only that, since he had to cut back a shrub, he cleaned up the mess and even put it in my lawn waste container for me. When it came time to calculate the bill, he told me what discounts were available and applied them to the bill. While it was still an expensive job, it was completely quickly and efficiently and under the original price quoted. I might add that Luke was not only a great worker, he was also personable and kind and compassionate. If I ever need plumbing services in the future, I will definitely call Bee's first and will specifically request Luke - although if the rest of the work force are anything like him, I'm sure they're all great. (Also, when the job was completed, the company emailed me and double-checked on the quality of the job and whether I was happy with it; I thought that was a nice touch!) read more

I am happy to write a 5-star++ review for Jeff and Sean from Bee's Plumbing--for their prompt response in an Emergency and their Outstanding Service until my problem was resolved. When my downstairs neighbor alerted me to a possible leak in my condo--water was coming into her condo--I was able to quickly shut off the water supply to my toilet. However, I clearly needed professional help right away. Having noticed Bee's Plumbing signs on Delridge Way during my commutes, I decided to call them for assistance. Although Jeff and Sean were about to finish their workday, they made time to come to my condo and address the problem. They ensured there would be no further leakage and, at my request, even removed the toilet and offered to dispose of it. Their willingness to go the extra mile provided me with "peace of mind" during a very stressful situation. I later called Jeff with several other questions about plumbing, and he was always willing to offer guidance, his opinion and cost estimates. When it came time to choose a new toilet, Jeff took the time to discuss the advantages of different brands and models, helping me make an informed decision. In the end, I decided to replace only the one toilet, and I specifically requested Jeff and Sean do the installation. Throughout the process, their professionalism and commitment to quality work truly reflected their expertise and pride in their work. They did a great job. Thanks Jeff. Thanks Sean.
