His communication with us was spectacular and thanks to him our water did not get cut off. We even had a complication with the backflow valve being broken, but he got it taken care of and he went way above and beyond to help us. Once they had me in their system, they started contacting me in advance to schedule the test each year, which I really appreciate since the city notice doesn't usually give a lot of turnaround time. This year the city surprised me by sending the notice a month early, and I was on vacation when the notice came. This left me with just over a week before it was due. I contacted 5 Star Backflow Services and they were able to do the test just a couple days later. After the test they always send the report directly to the city within 24 hours. I've been a customer of Certified Backflow Testing for nearly 20 years. I didn't leave over price…read moreor convenience. I left because of how they handled a mistake. After their technician serviced my backflow preventer this spring, my irrigation system stopped running. I didn't realize it right away. By the time I noticed, my lawn had already browned out and some plants were damaged. When I raised the issue, it took 2-3 weeks of back and forth to get nowhere. Certified Backflow didn't put the valve back to how they found it, which was in working condition. Their procedure states they restore valves to the position in which they are found, but they did not follow this procedure and won't take accountability for it. Management's first response was to hide behind policy rather than acknowledge what happened. They did send their GM out to look at the damage, which I appreciated. But even after seeing it firsthand, they couldn't provide any evidence that the technician left the shutoff valve in the correct position, and they offered nothing toward the damage caused. Mistakes happen. I get that. But after 20 years, I expected better. Finding a new provider.

I get a letter from the city saying my test was incomplete and that my water will be cutoff soon. I called back and was told they had forgot to submit the report and they would do it ASAP. There were no mention of the second device cost so I thought maybe they were going to throw it in for free since there was a lateness. I of course then get an email with the invoice for the additional device and finally a few days later I think I was cc'ed on the report sent to the city. Now, if I had been out or didn't check my mail for a while I really could have my water turned off and I think that even affects my credit? That's not good.

Initially there weren't any reviews for the business so I contacted Pops Backflow, but Pops was all booked up and referred me to A+ Backflow saying "Dave is very good and always shows up for his appointments. He has all his ducks in a row in regards to insurance, licensing, bonds, etc. He is honest and does everything by the book. I got him connected with NW and they have told me their customers are very happy with his service, I'm sure you will be too." Communication was poor, paperwork was never left under the doormat and results were not submitted to the water district until I contacted her multiple times. After numerous emails over the past week, I was forwarded the paperwork which had "sample" written on it. My address also appeared to have a 4 where there should've been a 9. I was told that it was correct and submitted to the district. Upon calling the district, there wasn't a record of it. All submissions are done online and there are things in place to make sure addresses are correct. I contacted Linda again and was forwarded a screen capture of the submittal of test results. The test date was incorrect since she had come the day before. Results were not submitted until they were a week past due. I am still not sure if she actually tested since she was questioning whether or not she tested the right house.
