I changed my mind a few times and although it was an hour before they closed for the day, they accommodated me with a smile on their faces. I visited a few of the rock and stone places in Lake Elsinore and Murrieta and I always thought RCP was where I needed to purchase from. They have a great selection and even showed me products I hadn't considered. So the process from Sales Counter through Delivery, it's all been very positive. A+, very quick and efficient. Just what we were looking for in medium size river rocks.

We made a large order for a big project and needed more pavers in the same color. RCP sent us the wrong color, but when we called asking about it, they reassured us it was a natural variation in the stone and that it was the same. Landscapers set the pavers and then it's crystal clear that they are a completely different color. We call back and they tell us it's our fault and refuse to refund. We are forced to buy a new set of pavers from them as no one else sells the ones we need PLUS pay the landscaper for the work of ripping out the incorrect ones and setting the correct color. All in all, $3600 out of our pocket for RCP's mistake. And they never even apologized. read more

Oh My!!!! Service?!?! This is it!!!! Joy was so nice when my order still wasn't in yet. I was worried when would be a good time to pick up my order since I had gotten in line at 7 am two weeks ago. While waiting I read that they were only open for pick up and I couldn't look around. I ordered online. It was great! Somehow the order didn't get filled BUT someone picked it up at Otay and noticed that I was located between Otay and Lemon Grove. He called and dropped the order off at my house!!!!!! So wonderful!!! I had 7 yards of driveway gravel delivered - a quick fix for a driveway extension. I asked if it was possible to spread the gravel in which I was told the driver could pull away as they dumped. I said sure that sounds great. It was written down on the form. I spoke to the driver 5 mins before the dump. This was my biggest ask and i made it clear. I came home to a giant pile of gravel. My BIGGEST issue is That i followed and I said hey you guys messed up, no big deal, but it's not what I asked for. They admitted, yes he should have spread it. Yes it was on the form. My husband and I are on a patio improvement mission. Today we wanted to price stones, bricks etc and to get an idea of the products available. RCP is loaded with various gravels, rocks, stones of various colors and shapes. They have a full selection of bricks in several colors, shapes and sizes. Their brown stones (This is a 16 x 16 x 2 1/2 in.) comes is a few different colors as well. They seem to have everything you would need to improve a patio or landscape of any business or home. The prices seem reasonable for example one brown stone piece cost $3.98. The staff is friendly and helpful. They know the products and will give you suggestion based on the project you are working on. How the process works is you pick out your product from the sales floor. You then go inside the office and tell them your selection and they process you through the register. Next, you go back to the sales floor and give your receipt to a staff member on the sales floor and he loads up your truck etc. with your purchase. If they don't have something in stock they will contact another location for you. The stones and gravel are sold per pound but they do have some pre bagged and the bricks and brown stone are sold individually. They have a huge selection of product and great customer service. read more

Today I was at 8240 Broadway, Lemon Grove. Not friendly people working at this store. Did not let me to pick up the stone I wanted. Then, when I said this stone is too thick and wanted to pick out thinner pieces they told me no. Also when I went to check out, they charged me more then they told me on the lot. What kind of establishment are they running? On the picture you can see the first pile has been picked thru. I wanted the rock from the other piles and they said no. No doubt the selection is pricey when it comes to rocks/gravel for a yard project. Tolerable. Barely. Slow and unfriendly service. Do you speak Neanderthal? If you actually buy anything here, you must've been trying really hard to give away your money. They have NO interest in actually selling anything. Maybe contractors do better here? Don't try to call. Phone service is non-existent. They put 8 people on hold while I stood in line for 20 minutes and only answered 1 call. They make no eye contact, never smile, never listen past the first 3 sentences, so edit what you say before you open your mouth. They have to type in all your personal info just to buy a gallon of brick cleaner. That takes another 20 minutes. Then you have to drive your car around to their sheds because they can't give you the bottle on display in the store. Mr. RCP has to take another 20 minutes to go dig the bottle out of the shed. Came here to look at gravel and boulders for my drought tolerant landscape project. For my particular project, i thought their selection was very limited. Their gravel that they had on hand was a bit cheaper than KRC but did not carry anything that caught my eye. Of what they did have in stock, it was a few $ cheaper than KRC, but they did not have any boulders that would fit my project so, i didn't want to pay $100 shipping from 2 different places. I was looking for some small gravel to lay down for garden walkways. Only needed a couple of yards but I was treated like I was ordering enough to cover a football field. They were able to deliver the order in the Lemon Grove small truck that was able to back down our driveway and put it exactly where I wanted it. I bought a pallet of block and reserved a second for pick up the following day. I returned the next day only to find that they sold my reserved block. I wasn't very happy about that but what can you do? The thing that ticked me off was that nobody gave a damn. No apologies or anything. It was like it was a regular occurrence. A refund was issued and that was that. How bout a "would you like me to call our other yards for you?" I asked for him to call other yards and he did, said he would call me back. No Call. What a surprise. I think that if your not a contractor they don't give a damn. They're not the only game in town so from now on I will go elsewhere. Good product if you can get it, decent prices. I've been wanting to check these guys out for years, but never had a good enough reason. So when I needed a gazillion bricks, I went to compare their prices to Home Depot, who had just raised theirs 3 cents per brick. RCP charged much more, and shot out the proverbial "ours are very good quality" excuse. In addition to this they don't really have samples of everything in their yard, so you have to peer through the shrink wrap. They might have a catalog, but it'd be good to see the product. I want to like this place but the problems out weight the old materials they stock. First they need to train their employees on customer service. I bought some blocks from here (50) and the guy who loaded them was just an ass. He did not want to load block, was having a bad day, or was mad the other guys were just sitting around. I don't care really what his issue was, that's his job to load and if he don't like it then well he can quit and go somewhere else. They need to have some real talk with the counter and yard guys and tell them, if they can't be polite and do the job then just GTFO. Second is, this is a "Block place" and their blocks cost more than at Home Depot and That's even after my contractor discount. What's up with that? Most always, specialty stores have their specialty items for less than home depot. NOT HERE!! Finally the next problem is, no pricing on a damn thing, I get it, you sell for less to the people you like, but come on and just put some pricing somewhere, a sheet or something. No one wants to get in line just to ask a price, no one. All in all after my last experience and seeing the price difference, let alone homedepot and lowes give you 5% off when using your HD card (just ask) , I ended up buying 2000 blocks and 100 rebars to start from Home Depot. read more
