Sarah and I had a wonderful dinner at CiBO tonight. The Salsiccia was the standout -- beautifully…read moreblistered crust, generous sausage, and exactly the kind of Neapolitan-style pie downtown Phoenix should be proud of. The arancini were a great way to start, and the Nutella e Banana with ice cream was the right call to close things out. But the night really belonged to our server, Jesus R. Attentive without hovering, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely warm -- the kind of service that turns a good meal into one you actually want to write about. We'll be back, and we'll be asking for his section. Five stars.

The setting does a lot of the work: a large, charming garden with plenty of outdoor seating that gives the whole place a cozy, almost village feel. Inside, there's a small bar that's tough to get into, but it's really your only option if you're walking in without a reservation and don't want to wait an hour or more. The kitchen is usually the highlight. With an Italian chef behind it, everything leans fresh and well executed--pizzas consistently shine, and the salads are just as strong. This time, though, the bolognese was a miss. The pasta was clearly overcooked, which stood out given how reliable the food typically is--felt more like an off night than the norm. The wine-by-the-glass list is solid and approachable, and the many awards feel well deserved overall. A diverse staff adds to the cosmopolitan yet relaxed atmosphere. Even with the misstep, Cibo holds its place as one of the better all-around dining experiences downtown.

Kaitlyn, the cashier at the pickup counter, was amazing--her energy, friendliness, and dedication to making sure I was satisfied with my order were impeccable! Spinato's is pretty pricey, however, they have the best pizza in the valley in my opinion. Definitely recommend the Mama Signature.

This is an embarrassment to anything Chicago or Wrigley related. Barely any beef and some nasty sausage patty, served with a bag of chips. This was not edible, so I just picked off the beef. The pizza was decent, but I can get better from Rosatti's. The worst part of the meal was the calzone. It was disgusting and barely warm. We all took small portions to taste and none found it edible. We left almost the entire order on the rack, aside from the pieces on our plates. Did the server care to ask? No, but more on that later. The small cheese with Ricotta was barely ok, but the ricotta was not as fresh as served at DeFalcos or Vero in East Valley. Service: AWFUL. We told the server that we want the large pizza to be our appetizer and then bring the rest of the food out. Nope. She brought everything out together. Refills? Had to try and finally get her attention. Never asked about our food. Didnt ask why the calzone was barely touched and we didn't want it to go either. Overall: Not coming back period.
