The quality of the work is 10/10 and I believe I got a really good price for everything I had done. They pick up the pieces and deliver them back once the work is completed. You can't beat that! You can choose the color stain you want and the work is done pretty quickly. Upon delivery of my pieces, I noticed one little nick on the nightstand that likely happened during transport and they took it back to the warehouse house to repair without hesitation, haggling or excuses. I loved that! I met both the son and the father and what beautiful people they are. A true blessing to do business with. I will definitely use them again if I ever need any furniture refinished. I also recommend them to anyone needing this type of service. You won't be disappointed!!

I could tell that they were new to Yelp, but their website illustrates just how capable this team is of custom woodwork. It goes without saying that they were timely and professional throughout the process. I will be sure to be in touch regarding any and all future custom furniture work!

Tamer Brothers Restoration at 465 Baltic St in Brooklyn Did…read morean exceptional job restoring my bird's-eye maple Deco bedside cabinets. I bought them about 40 years ago from a vintage dealer in Lower Manhattan; they are a loved staple in my home. During a relocation, the cabinets sustained significant damage. I took a chance and contacted Tamer Brothers. They were professional and personable, assessed the repairs needed, and picked up the 2 pieces from my home. Tamer's restoration is masterful; the veneer matches seamlessly. The cabinets' subtle curves and tapered corners are perfect; the color variations match, and the surface is as smooth as satin. Updated. The work of a true artisan. I highly recommend Tamer Brothers for any restoration work; they are dedicated to a high standard. Sending many, many thanks.

First of all let me say the quality of the work done is EXCELLENT. We really loved the fabric we…read moreselected and I am sure this helped us love the end result even more so but the finished product is EXCELLENT. I had to amend my review posted yesterday because today I received OUT OF THIS WORLD customer service follow up from the owner. And just for the record I never had a complaint about the quality of work. I was never disgruntled about the work - it is worth every penny especially if you are a perfectionist like me. I was a little disappointed however over a what I now know was a disconnect between what I was told during steps within the intake and implementation process and the actual reality of certain logistics (delivery) and selecting a textile. Part of the confusion stemmed from not being clear on my options on how you go about getting your textile. You can have MOD order it for you or you can order it yourself. MOD use to embed a jump link within its website to another website for ordering textiles which led me to believe such company was affiliated with MOD. Therein lies the rub; I noticed there can be a price difference between the two but it totally depends on what's the going rate at the time. MOD runs independent from any third party supplier. I am very grateful that head management reached out to me today to clear up and rectify any discrepancies. I have not encountered that level of customer service laced with pride and integrity in ages. Management understands how this can be confusing from the customer's perspective and so promptly removed the reference. The work is stellar and better than you can imagine when you finally get to see the end result. This along with thoughtful customer service makes the overall experience a very positive one. Enjoy!

We had the structure of a custom couch made by a woodworker, so no cushions. My wife went to J&Y and had a terrific experience. She explained what she wanted, they gave her many options with details on how different fabrics work, made beautiful cushions and to avoid waste used remaining fabric to cover 4 pillows at a very low price (I don't remember exactly but it was a lot cheaper than I expected). The work was done quickly enough, professionally. We've had this here for several years now and it's still in really good condition... aside from the stain unfortunately, but that's what kids are for I guess. You gotta keep in mind that this is a dying craft and these people are disappearing. If you're looking for cheap stuff you'll find it at any of the big stores but it won't be as good as anything you'll get from J&Y. Like a good craftsperson, they'll charge more but you get more. I highly recommend this small local business. I myself will make sure to give them my business whenever I can. PS. I also swung by there one time to ask if they would cut some foam for a Halloween costume I was making for my kid (yes, the same one who made the stain) and they quickly and happily took care of it in about 2 minutes. It's a great group of hard working people.
