A spring was broken the legs needed to be refinished. Andres went ABOVE & BEYOND, as usual. I had two formal dining chairs that were in need of a modern update. Andres was timely, professional, and reasonably priced. His quote includes pickup and delivery. Andres is also incredibly friendly and you can just tell that he's a good guy. I picked him on the basis of his 5 star yelp reviews, and felt the need to write one myself so that others can benefit! Andres was a pleasure to work with. He came when he said he would or would call to let me know he was on his way. It took a little longer than expected but it was worth the wait. My chairs look beautiful. I had extra fabric and had him make covers for my couch cushions which he did in a day. The pillows I ordered to coordinate came back in the wrong size but he fixed them and brought them the next day with my couch cushions. He returned the extra fabric as I had asked him to and even returned money to me that I had accidentally over paid. Amazingly honest guy which is hard to find these days. I recently brought an antique (maybe 1900s?) loveseat from Massachusetts to Brooklyn. It was given to my mother by her godmother and was in my house all my life. Even then it was pretty beat up. I don't know anything about its provenance but I knew it was worth restoring, if not for historical value then for sentimental value. I shopped around for weeks, speaking to upholsterers all over the city and Andres quoted me the best price and included delivery and pick up. He also had great reviews. I just got the sofa back yesterday and I couldn't be more thrilled. Not only does it look amazing, but sitting in it is like getting a big hug. Andres went above and beyond, reinforcing the wood frame, redoing the springs and the base, and refilling the cushion with down feathers (which other upholsterers said they would charge extra for). Truly. - Does beautiful work and really cares about whether or not you like it. He came, consulted, took our 4 chairs away, then brought one cushion back to make sure we liked how it looked, then proceeded on to the others. - Incredibly quick. 1.5 week turn around time for doing those 4 chairs, including all that back and forth. - SO CHEAP. He charged us $300 to redo four dining room chairs (cushions on back as well as seat). Other people who shall remain nameless quoted anywhere from $250-$375 PER CHAIR. read more

Andres did a wonderful job recovering my fabric cocktail ottoman. Every thing from pick up and delivery times, fabric required, cost and drop off time was quickly and clearly communicated. He even replaced the foam and bottom protection; the ottoman looks even better than it did when it was brand new! He helped me get the piece into the living room since my husband wasn't home at the time of drop off, which was above and beyond his call of duty. His prices are exceptionally reasonable - his quote was on par with other I received but his services include delivery so it actually ended up being far less expensive than his competitors. Andres did a fantastic job repairing two antique chairs and making three coordinating pillows. The chairs were valuable but in very bad condition. The job was further complicated because I wanted him to use some silk bedcovers that I had purchased in China to make the back cushions of the chairs and throw pillows. The Chinese bedcovers had 2 1/2" borders of coordinated colors and gold medallions in the center and quarter medallions on the corners. The way Andres used the Chinese fabric was pure artistry! He centered the medallions on the back cushions of the chairs and placed the fabric on the pillows so that the borders were around the edges and the corner medallions that were on the fabric were placed on the corners of the pillows. I can't believe how beautiful the chairs are. The price was very reasonable considering how complicated the job was. read more

This is my first Yelp review and will probably be my only one but I wanted to add my voice to the praise for Andres. He is the best! I wanted to have a loveseat that my mother purchased at Bloomingdale's around 80 years ago reupholstered so I did some research and, based on the glowing reviews, contacted Andres, who gave me a quote. I bought my own fabric (JB Martin Velvet Cannes Stardust) and once it arrived I contacted Andres again and he came the same day to pick up the loveseat. I didn't get it back for a very long time but when I found out the reason for the delay (family health issues) I completely understood. Moreover, the finished product was more than worth the wait! The "after" picture doesn't do justice to the magnificent work Andres did. I can't believe I had considered buying a new loveseat! The old one now looks absolutely beautiful and I can't imagine a better one--never mind that the piece has great sentimental value. The play of light on the exquisite tufting is lovely. Andres is also, as others have said, a sweet man who wants to make his customers happy. You won't find a more talented upholsterer at any price. read more

I've had my Great-Grandmother's chair for a few years now and have needed to get it reupholstered since it came to me. When one arm fell off and a chipped the wood, near where it attached to the back, I couldn't put off having it fixed any longer. I found Andres Vazquez through yelp reviews and am really quite pleased by the experience! I texted him pictures of my chair and he was able to give me an estimate over text. I had the fabric already, so I can't say anything about that process. But, he picked up the chair and returned it to my home, scheduling everything via text. He was always very responsive via text. And, most of all, the chair turned out beautifully. I'm taking off one star, though, because when he picked up the chair, he asked if I was putting down a deposit - which I would happily have done, if he'd mentioned it ahead of time - I didn't have any cash on me. I'm also taking off that same one star because it was originally estimated to take two weeks and it wound up taking a month. Which, isn't horrible, but it was returned the afternoon before I had company arrive and that added to my stress. i have no idea the quality of upholstery at this place, because i can't seem to get them to give me my sofa back. i was originally quoted 3 weeks, so i had them pick up my couch just before i left on a month long vacation. when i returned i was told it would be ready in one more week. that turned into two. then i was promised the sofa would be returned on monday or tuesday. then he set a friday delivery appt. so now we are at over 6 weeks and a get a text saying they can't come because of traffic (who makes a delivery appointment 5-7 on a friday evening and doesn't expect traffic?) so then they sent me pictures of my couch and told me they'd be here the next day at 9 am. nine came and went and no responses to my texts. so basically, they lie, and at this point, it appears they steal. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, YOU WILL BE SORRY. read more
