Overall, excellent!!! Did exactly as discussed and exceeded expectations. My upholstery was for an older Ligne Roset Stricto Sensu sofa, where I just had the seat and back cushions reupholstered (seat cushions were in bad shape), and reusing the existing zippers to zip the seat cushions back into place. They even put the seams where they were with the original leather cushions. It was like getting replacement cushions by Ligne Roset. Now the sofa that I bought used 6 years ago is like new. Very happy with the outcome! Only issue is J&C needs to return the remaining upholstery fabric (Got much more than needed), as well as the original leather back cushions. Still waiting on that. The sofa I dreamed of! Edwin and his team recovered a 1950's vintage sectional sofa and ottomans that came in multiple sections. Each section was perfectly tailored with seaming that is straight as an arrow, and the cushioning has held up over the past few months. I hunted for a reupholster with a good reputation and many reviews for other businesses said that the worked looked good initially but after a few months didn't hold up. It has been a long saga decorating the apartment..... We are doing period furniture in the formal living and dining rooms. We thought we found some appropriate fabric for a few reupholstery projects (8 Hepplewhite dining chairs, empire sofa and 2 bergers). Well, we finally obtain some appropriate fabric for the dining chairs. I called a few of the upholsterers I had previously obtained quotes from. I needed the chairs for Thanksgiving (I was hosting a large dinner). J&C Custom Upholstery ("J&C") responded nicely. I texted and emailed a few images of the fabric and chairs to check if I had enough fabric. Edwin of J&C was very cooperative. He sent his father to pick up the chairs later that day. His father double checked the fabric and the chairs when he picked up the items. Well, not only did they turn the chairs around in less than the agreed upon 2 weeks (picked up November 1st and delivered on November 14th), they did a great job on the chairs! They were extremely reasonable priced. The chairs look better than I thought and they executed my design as requested. They repaired the straps/bindings too. They did not add extra fees or play games. This is a great family run business. It had been a while since I obtain the quote, they still honored it. They are pretty easy going and casual. The father and son along with their team of artisans picked up a leather Restoration Hardware chair that was damaged during shipping. J&C surgically removed the no-longer-available nailheads. They refabricated the leg and matched it perfectly. They returned the leather and nailheads so it was impossible to se the repair. Thank you J&C for saving my sale and restoring the chair. We had a couch and matching love seat whose springs had given way due to heavy use. The set was bought from a major furniture retailer who we have found was less than agreeable when called for customer service. The choice was to find someone who could fix the furniture at a reasonable cost or buy new to replace the pieces . After several google searches, and phone calls I chose J & C. They came to my home and gave me a general estimate. I agreed to let them take the furniture back to their facility to further study. After agreeing on a final price, the two pieces were brought back several days later, good as new. J& C saved me several hundred dollars by not having to replace the items.
