They do excellent work! The best. Beautiful, deep tufting with all the details done perfectly on my horsehair-stuffed Stickley Leopold chair and ottoman. Absolutely top notch. Moshe, my project manager, is the consummate professional. He shepherded me through the entire process by listening carefully, and being tuned in to all my needs throughout the entire process. Turnaround was very reasonable, even through the holidays, and delivery was executed with sensitivity and precision--those guys truly and clearly care about executing their job with excellence. I needed to have 6 dining room chairs reupholstered. I looked on-line and couldn't find any in Manhattan. But Nesco says it works throughout the city. I also liked that I didn't have to go to fabric sites separately, they have several fabric companies on their website. I was able to order samples and found the perfect fabric. Nesco then quickly sent an invoice, answered all my questions and once they got the fabric picked up my chairs. Four weeks later I have beautifully redone chairs, they look like new and are very comfortable. I couldn't be happier with the results. read more

Absolutely excellent service, repair, professionalism and caring approach to customers. They went as far as to give us a lift to the ferry as we lugged our chair back to Manhattan. Extremely large selection of leather hides in house and even more from which to choose to order. The Danish modern chair and ottoman, almost 60 years old, has a new life for at least another 60 years. read more

I can't say enough about Nesco! The guys not only did an amazing job making my 20+ year old couch look better than brand new, but they were pleasant to work with the entire way. Rick was incredibly responsive to all my questions and concerns from start to finish and even sent me fabric swatches of the fabrics I was debating on without me having to ask. The pricing was incredibly reasonable compared to other companies, there were no hidden costs (Several other upholsterers stated that they would only give an estimate, but the 'real' cost would be determined AFTER they opened the couch up), and the work was done in the time promised. The guys who came to pick up & drop off the couch were wonderful as well, being very careful of everything. However, the real measure of quality for an upholsterer is obviously, the reupholstery... and it is AMAZING!!! Baruch took my 20 year old, very beat up, oddly shaped sectional and truly made it look better and more luxurious than when I originally purchased it. Rick helped guide me on the fabric choice (which was spot-on to what I had imagined and is an extremely high quality), but never tried to 'upsell' me to the most expensive options. They walked me through all the various options, stripped and repaired everything, and clearly did an excellent job making sure the 'new' couch will last another 20+ years! I highly, highly recommend working with Nesco for all your furniture needs. read more

While it took a long time to get the work done from this very busy company, the price was very reasonable compared to other estimates and it was worth the wait. The fine workmanship transformed our 35-year-old chair into a piece that looks totally new and is perfect in our bedroom. And the 15 year old elephant pillows I love have been given new life as updated accents on our living room couch. we highly recommend Nesco. If we have more upholstery needs, we will definitely be back. read more

I have used Nesco several times in the past year for both corporate and personal upholstery needs. I have catalogued the work extensively below as a testament to Baruch's consistent performance and care. The first job Nesco completed were for cushions at Bluewolf IBM / Salesforce offices. As a general contractor the work is extremely professional, and on-time. More recently, I had them also re-upholster some chairs for my home and I am highly satisfied with Nesco's performance. Nesco performed outstanding work in reupholstering this collector furniture. We own two Cassina LC3 LeCorbusier collector item chairs, owning them for 40 years. I have kept these chairs throughout my adult life. As the leather withered away, I became attached to them. The chair leather and cushions were well-used and worn. In addition to my collection of furniture is a Cassina Toshiyuki Kita WINK chair. I've had this chair for as long as I've owned the L3 LeCorbusier chairs. This furniture piece is no longer manufactured. It is a collectors item. The chair cleverly unfolds into a chaise lounge. The back & headrest can be mechanically adjusted with side gears, and the single leg unfolds, so as to become a lounge chair. One can imagine the understanding Nesco took to maintain the function and successfully reupholster the piece. The WINK is by far the best chair I have ever owned, and with Nesco's diligent work it remains so on craftsmanship and function. In addition to the L3 chairs, and the WINK lounge, Nesco worked on my fruitwood german Beidermeier arm chair which was well upholstered with padding and fabric. I own a 36' sport fisher that I use during the summer and I plan to have NESCO perform this work as well. read more

This company does beautiful work but I do not like the fabric guy. He made a mistake and had them use the wrong fabric and when I asked him to bring the same sample book for another job he conveniently forgot it. I suggest you ask for a swatch of the fabric to be mailed to you before they start the job. Next time I will supply my own fabric. read more

If you have upholstery needs, and live in the New York City area, there is really no reason to go anywhere else but Nesco. I'm an architect who is very particular, and when I needed my Joseph Hoffman dining room chairs reupholstered I found Baruch at Nesco and couldn't be happier with the results. If you go to his place of business in Industry City, be prepared for a truly New York experience with a workshop that has been around for a lifetime. Baruch himself is attentive to details, fair in his pricing and the whole process was seamless. read more

I had good furniture in need of repair. I contemplated buying new and looked in the so called high end stores for new pieces. I decided to go the reupholstery route. I found Nesco very responsive to my needs. I had a sofa and office chair reupholstered in good quality leather and an armchair repaired. My wife and I are very pleased and the furniture looks stunning. I highly recommend Nesco for your reupholstery needs. Before I left for vacation the furniture was removed effortlessly and transformed beautifully and then returned, and we love it. You get what you pay for and that's exactly what we got, Beautiful high quality leather furniture . read more

We had a Pottery Barn couch that we loved but it was not holding up well to time. Nesco gave us a great in-home consultation where we picked new fabric (he brought so many books!) We didn't know really which fabrics would be right but they did. Then the awesome crew came and picked up the couch which wasn't easy since it's too big for the door. They dismantled it with no problems. Baruch and I spoke on the phone about our requirements and then they delivered the most beautiful, comfortable, perfect reupholstered, restuffed, reinforced couch in perfect fabric. I'm pretty sure it will last FAR longer than it would have before Nesco took care of it. read more

My experience with Nesco was outstanding! I had some questions regarding the look and feel of the cushions as well as the type of stitching. Baruch suggested I visit his factory. I am renovating my parents home in Brooklyn and had a sofa and several chairs, all period pieces reupholstered at Nesco. I am not from the area so I have to rely on social media to canvas services. Nesco is top notch with the best pricing while providing outstanding services. I did get quotes from 2 other places and Nesco was the best. Baruch is patient and very knowledgeable, and wonderful to work with! Would not consider anywhere else. In the future I will bring furniture from my home in Boston because of the quality of the work. The staff can handle any piece of furniture from any period with expert care. read more

I called Nesco Upholstery more than 6 months ago, and got a quote from Rick. Last week I called again and said I finally had time to get the couch cushions reupholstered. Although we had nothing in writing and Rick thought the price was too low, they honored what I had written down as their quote from 6 months earlier. We brought the cushions in on Thursday and picked them up on Monday, less than a week later. I was expecting to wait weeks! The couch looks amazing, I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend Nesco Upholstery. read more

I am not one to give reviews for every new experience, purchase, or restaurant I try, however my husband and I were so happy with the service and quality of Nesco upholstery that I really felt compelled to write this review about our experience. We had purchased a store model couch from Design within Reach in Brooklyn that was very worn and had an obvious tear. I had called/emailed around to multiple upholstery shops. Not only did I receive the best price from Nesco, they were the only shop that had an associate come to my home to go over fabrics with me. We knew exactly the feel and look of what our couch would have because of this extra step. The couch itself arrived earlier than anticipated and was way beyond what we had expected! It looks beautiful, and we saved over a thousand dollars from the most expensive quote we received from other shops! Baruch was always available via phone/text. I would go for back in a heartbeat! read more

It's so hard to know if you're getting good value from an upholsterer but you can rest assured that Baruch and his team at NESCO know what they are doing and deliver on their promises. My two chairs were were reupholstered to perfection. The job was done in a timely manner and we loved the results. Thank you!!

I brought cushions from a couch and two chairs in with fabric I had bought to get them reupholstered. Baruch and his team did a fantastic job. Though it took a few days longer than he originally estimated, he kept in touch to let me know when it would be done and waived the delivery fee. It was still quite a quick turnaround (9 days), and I was very happy with the end result. I would definitely use them again. read more

Exceptional, exceptional work from Nesco. Happy to join the ranks of happy customers. We knew our mid-century sofa (a second hand steal ten years ago) was in rough shape but we had no idea how different it could be with a bit of love. Rick made selecting the fabric super convenient scheduling time to go over a variety of options, finally helping us settle on something durable and aligned with our color palette at home. Baruch made pick up and delivery super easy, even in the middle of the New York Marathon! His craftsmanship speaks for itself. The springs have been replaced, the cushion design tweaked for durability and a fine polish on the wood has completed the process of breathing new life into a much prized piece of furniture. On top of this, happy to say it was delivered earlier than estimated! Worth every single penny, we'll definitely be repeat customers. read more

Thank you Baruch for reviving 6 of my mom's 30 year old dining chairs. The pick-up and drop off was a breeze and we liked the idea of rejuvenating classic cherry wood dining chairs rather than buying new ones. read more

So, I think I need to start by saying I rarely write reviews on companies or products, but I just had to write this review. My sofa and 2 occasional chairs were just delivered by Baruch and his team, and I am speechless. These chairs had been passed down to me by my Mom, who has had them since I was 1 year old, 36 years ago,so needless to say I have great sentimental attachment to them. But being that old, and having never been re-upholstered, they needed a bit of "help." When the chairs were picked up I wasn't sure what to expect when they got back. As I mentioned I just received them and "WHOA!," they are absolutely beautiful! It is quite obvious that Baruch paid attention to every detail while doing this project. I couldn't have asked for a better job. Baruch, really, thank you so much for everything; you truly exceeded my expectations. Thanks a million! read more

I have a small antique occasional chair that belonged to my mother. I sent a message through Yelp with a photo and received a call the same day. I scheduled an appointment with Rick to look over the fabric. He asked me the color and style I was interested in. He did a good job of picking out fabric that I might like. I made up my mind by the 3rd fabric. The chair was small enough that it fit in Rick's car, so there was no need for another appointment for pick up. The chair left on August 26 and was returned September 11. It looks great! I couldn't be happier with the quality of work and timeliness. read more

Nesco did an amazing job from start to finish - starting with an in-home visit to pick fabrics that was actually fun. I loved the options I had and was able to find something beautiful immediately. My pieces were done earlier than anticipated and turned out gorgeous. Even better - they have been flexible about the delivery date so that we could make it coincide with other work being done on the house. I will work with them again and highly recommend them to others. read more

Highly recommended. Nesco reupholstered four wing chairs for me for a reasonable price and much faster than another upholster I previously used. There was attention to detail (each chair has three different fabrics) and good communication. I'm very happy with the result, found Nesco easy to deal with and hope to use them again. read more

We had a set of 75-year-old art deco dining chairs that needed drastic attention. Rick and Baruch were great to work with. They responded quickly to our inquiry, provided a wide assortment of fabrics to choose from, and told us clearly what repairs each chair would need. They arranged a convenient time for the chairs to be picked up and followed up with a courtesy call. They did a first-rate job on the chairs for a very reasonable price and actually completed the job sooner than they estimated! We couldn't be happier. read more

I emailed NESCO in a frenzy! I had what once was a gorgeous wingback chair that had been ripped to shreds by my dogs over the years. I had sent photos and emails to a few other places, all of them saying it was irreparable. NESCO got back to me right away saying they would be able to fix it right up in no time. They came to my house with swatches of fabrics catered to my taste, they were all so beautiful I had a hard time picking just one. A day later they were at my house to pick up the chair and had it fixed up in better than new condition in only 2.5 weeks. I am over the moon with how gorgeous the chair looks now, I could not imagine a better job, they even fixed the legs that had minor scratches on them! Reupholstering anything is a craft, so it's always going to be pricey, but like I said, I shopped around and NESCO was hands down the best price- especially for the amazing quality. I plan on using them for all my valuable pieces. read more

I was pleased with the work of Baruch and Rick at Nesco Upholstery & Design. They were professional and responsive when it came to reupholstering a large armchair for me.
