They do have polite people and do decent work but I did not have a good experience with their repair business. An annual inspection turned up a couple of small problems - low refrigerant in a system and a nearly failed condenser fan in another. No argument with that conclusion so I said go ahead with fixes. Got the invoice and should have paid more attention - a price gouge of epic proportions. Here's what I sent them that got rejected by their system: PS - registered professional engineer who should have paid more attention. 'I was not here when this work was finished, and I have no issue at all with the technician and work performed. He was professional. I agreed to all of the work. But I regret now not doing additional homework on the cost. A one pound 410a add should cost more like $100 at the high end all in. Easy to find on google or Yelp), given you can get a 25 lb Jug in the range of $250. And yes, there is labor and overhead in that , but for for a 30 minute job $325 seems excessive. I also was able to source the replacement fan motor with an identical Lennox model# from a number of sources- from around $200. Again, that doesn't include labor. So if I'm generous, you got $300 in parts, add 20% for miscellaneous. And yes, I get that there is 'Bob's guarantee' and you have overhead, but an 1800+ bill for less than two labor hours of work, make it 3 with travel time and even at 150 per hour - and maybe 450 in parts and material -the total markup at 2x is to me excessive. Plus your billing is deficient in the level of detail so it's even hard to understand how you could add it up to that much. My wife paid the bill of course, but with these prices even though the service is good I won't be using or recommending Bobs for repairs in the future. I'll do my homework.' PS - last postscript. You may have noticed Bob's no longer responds to Yelp reviews. Must be too busy. Or they don't care. Neither one is a good sign.

We did a lot of research before we pulled the trigger on Solar. We did a deep dive on leasing versus purchasing, equipment differences and post installation service. We had actually contracted with a different firm, but after we found out the sales rep misrepresented the equipment they were going to install - we cancelled. After that, we reached-out to two other companies - one of which was Robco. After comparing all of the metrics as well as the reviews, we ended up purchasing a system from Robco. From the presentation and design with Jorge, through the approval process with our HOA, to obtaining permits, they were on top of it all. We initially met with Jorge on May 12th. All approvals were obtained and Mike and his installation crew showed up on May 26th. These guys actually showed up early and worked like a well greased machine. The job was completed by mid afternoon, including the painting of conduit and solar emergency shut-off to match the stucco on my home. They even left me with extra roof tiles in case we needed them in the future. After the installation, the building inspector scheduled time to come by and sign-off on the permit. Of course, there were no problems there. The funny thing was that I can be a bit chatty and in talking to the inspector, he stated in summary that if he were were going to put solar on his personal home - or needed an electrical repair, Robco is the one company he would call. I thought that was quite an endorsement. That last installation piece was for NV Energy to come out and replace the meter with one that can export unused solar energy back out to the grid; that was done on June 18th. From start to finish, Jorge, Mike and all of the guys at Robco exceeded our expectations. We would wholeheartedly recommend them for your Solar (or electrical repair) needs.

I work with several brands that compete in various marketplaces, and this is a tactic I would never endorse. The clause, as written, sends the wrong message. It's written in very strong legal language, and yes, it absolutely reads like a threat. Telling a customer that their warranty could be voided over a "disparaging" comment -- even one that's truthful -- feels more like protecting the brand at the expense of the customer's rights. If a company's service is great and they handle problems with integrity, their customers won't feel the need to "disparage" them in the first place. To be clear, I otherwise had a good experience with Solar Optimum during the proposal stage, but ultimately decided not to sign due to what I consider to be a big red flag. I have no reason to believe that the positive reviews here are not genuine. I just have to assume that part of the reason they seem to out-index the rest of the industry is due to this type of tactic. I don't have a crystal ball - but the solar industry seems to be littered with companies who deal in deceptive practices, so if you want to be the "good guy", then you should have confidence that your customers will advocate for you. So we contracted Bella Vista Solar to come out and look at our system. We were so very impressed by the technician who came because he instantly diagnosed the problem. We asked him to put in writing what he discovered and include that info on the invoice. It cost $100 for him to come out, and it's very much worth it. Armed with that description, we were finally able to persuade SunStrong to send their selected contractor to take a look. And yes, we have installation and maintenance issues with our solar system. And it took Bella Vista's diagnosis to confirm. SunStrong then arranged to fix the problems.

What we found was shocking: 90 broken roof tiles and 100s of penetrations through the protective underlayment. On top of that, 1Solar had never connected 4 of the 19 solar panels. I've attached a few of the photos. 1Solar replaced some damaged tiles but declined the larger remediation because we are the 2nd homeowners. Their roof-penetration warranty does not transfer. Now we have to hire a roofer and another solar company to remove and reinstall the panels so we can repair the roof. We're also dealing with water damage inside our home. Sellers and Realtors should know what does--and doesn't--transfer. Buyers should know before they close, not after the roof starts leaking. Poor workmanship. No transferred roof protection. I cannot recommend 1Solar.
