We live in the country so going to town to eat takes some planning. Coming from South Texas we like our Mexican food. The place we normally went to really went down hill. So looking on Yelp I found Rancho Seco. It had really good reviews so we went. The food was really good. I got bistek ranchero and my wife got beef enchiladas. It isn't your Tex-Mex like you find in chain restaurants. This is more authentic. Our waitress was awesome. She was very friendly and took good care of us. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. Not too many decorations buts that's fine. I came for the food. There are about 15 tables so it isn't a huge place. But being in a small town it should be fine. We came in about 7:00 PM on a Saturday night and there weren't too many people. I like this place. It will be our go to for Mexican food now. Stop in. You won't be disappointed. read more

Rancho Seco is a Mexican Restaurant in Lometa, TX. I enjoyed lunch around 2pm on a Tuesday. The server greeted me immediately and told me to sit where I wanted. Since the lunch rush had passed, I had my choice of tables. Each table was draped in a black tablecloth and had a vase of fresh cut flowers! I chose a table facing the TV which was playing La Música Romántica. Specifically Con Ese Corazón and also La Telescopio by La Maquinaria Norteño among other selections. I ordered water with lemon to drink. A basket of chips and a bowl of salsa was immediately presented along with a menu. I chose the Chimichanga plate which came with refried beans and Mexican rice. I requested a side of Charro beans also and a side of shredded cheese. My meal was brought within 10 minutes. The chips were crispy and the salsa was flavorful. The beef chimichanga was hot and crispy. The refried beans were a little cooler than I usually like, but acceptable. The rice was hot. The Charro beans were very hot so I had to take my time eating them. The server checked on me a couple of times. As I was finishing I was invited to order dessert. Churros or Tres Leches cake? I chose Tres Leches. About 10 minutes later the Tres Leches Cake was brought out. The piece was much larger than anticipated. It was topped with fresh strawberry slices, whipped cream, and caramel sauce. Very delicious! I will definitely come here again next time I am in Lometa! read more

We drove in from Brownwood, and our friend drove in from Austin, to meet up for Sunday Lunch. We had a wonderful experience. The food was tasty, the hospitality & attentive service genuine, and the conversation lively and joyful. What more could we ask for? Left satisfied and ready for our next #meetmeinlometa meet-up. I highly recommend this place!! Open for breakfast early Sunday morning. We arrived just before 8:00 am and was able to seat ourselves. Server was immediately over and took our drink order. I ordered the Migas with bacon in it and my wife ordered the avocado toast. I had plenty of food to eat. This was one the best Migas plates that I have ever eaten. Looking for a place to stop on my road trip from college station to Lubbock, and I'm glad I found this. Great service, good ambiance and authentic feeling, and the food was fantastic. I have had many quesa birrias with consummé. And this one did not dissapoint at all, one of the best I have had. I was really surprised to find a good place like this in the middle of nowhere, I don't even know the name of this town. Recommendations: what I ordered. The consummé is the orange sauce you dip the tacos in. The plate came with onions and cilantro and Spanish rice. I recommend putting a little bit of those sides in the taco especially the first two. if you're in the area absolutely go visit, if you're driving through, it couldn't be less out of the way, just take a few minutes and enjoy some great food. read more

Wonderful food. Seems to lean a little more to the Mexican Food versus Tex-Mex as there are things on the menu that I have no idea what they are :) But that's fine, I'll learn. We've been for dinner and breakfast now and both have been fantastic! Excellent service both times. And fresh tasty food. If you like sweet stuff for breakfast you have to try the churro pancakes! I think I have a new favorite food. Yummy! And the two pancakes took up every bit of a really large plate. Restaurant is in "downtown" Lometa and not directly on the highway that most passing through would be on, but it's less than a block off the highway at the light in town. Easy to find even if you aren't from the area and plenty of parking on the street as there's not much else open in the surrounding buildings. read more
