I decided to follow the exact same footsteps as they did in the Episode that Lampasas, TX was featured. I found myself at this charming, beautiful family owned restaurant. What an amazing find. The restaurant has a beautiful outdoor area that reminds you of the outdoor areas of resorts in Mexico. The food is fresh, light, great value and absolutely Delicious! The service from the time I walked in to the time I left was top notch. Everyone was very friendly and I love how when a local came in, they were welcomed as family and if you were new to their establishment, they took the time to greet, welcome you, talk about their menu and gave you suggestions. I had a Mango Winerita (they can only serve beer and wine since they're close to a school and a church) which was super refreshing. The usual chips and salsa came to the table. The salsa had a nice flavor and just the right amount of heat... That your taste buds response to but than the heat goes away. The Queso was liquid gold... Smooth and cheesy... Perfect consistency that coats your chips but doesn't drip all over the place. I was treated to a different salsa that isn't normally brought to the table unless you asked for it. Woww!! Chunky with a nice roundness of smokey flavor, freshness and again the perfect touch of heat. The Jalapeno Fried Chips are beyond words... Thinly sliced, fried golden perfection with a Ranch Dipping Sauce to accommodate them. I couldn't stop eating them! So addictive. Than my main course... The Mexican Steak plate. Thinly sliced perfectly tender cooked meat with onions, peppers and tomatoes tossed all together. Rice and beans rounded off the plate perfectly. Everything was cooked right, everything was fresh and surprising light. The portions are generous and the prices are extremely reasonable. It was a perfect way to end my Day Trip in Lampasas. I look forward to going there again and exploring more of their menu. If you are from that area and have never been... Go support your local businesses! If you are driving through and on your way to Austin, stop there to fill your tummy... You will not be disappointed. Last but not least... It is an all CASH only restaurant. They do have an ATM inside. This restaurant is definitely worth another road trip!

After the lunch rush there were only two occupied tables so I was seated immediately. The server led me to my seat, handed me a menu, and asked me what I wanted to drink. I chose water with lemon which was quickly brought along with chips and salsa. The salsa was flavorful and not too spicy. I ordered TexMex Enchiladas from the lunch section of the menu. My food was brought to the table surprisingly fast! The beans and enchiladas were hot. The rice was a little on the room temperature side but still warm enough not to complain. I finished my food pretty quickly and lingered a bit munching on chips and salsa. No complaints from the staff. I asked if they happened to have churros and they do! The server said that they come four churros to an order so I asked for an order for dessert. The churros took about 7 minutes or so to cook. They were served extremely hot since they just came out of the fryer. They were served on a plate arranged like a hashtag with five dollops of whipped cream. The plate was sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and drizzled with honey. Each churro was filled with a cream custard. They were very tasty! Total came to $22 with tip. Not too bad these days!
