I have been eating at this restaurant for the past 23 years and since it has new ownership, it has gone downhill. Let's start with my wife's breakfast first we had to return my wife's drink due to the creamer was bad. Second, the piece of ham has been cut, even smaller than in the past and the pancakes tasted like they were cooked on an unclean griddle that burnt oil was on (disgusting). I had an all meat omelette, which tasted very good, but the whole omelette looked like it was even smaller than normal. I decided to get grits instead of hashbrowns because this establishment cooks with some sort of seed oil that upsets my stomach, but when I got the grits in its place, they had some sort of weird oil that tasted very disgusting on it, which was not butter. The biscuit tasted all right because I only used strawberry smokers jelly on it. The waitress did not bother to ask us how our meal was even halfway through our meal nor did she ask if I wanted to refill on my sweet tea. Looks like I'm gonna have to no longer go to this establishment and maybe go somewhere else that cooks good food. I wish some of the local farmers would get together and create a restaurant that is farm to table that put these jokers out of business. read more

Our visit was Thursday afternoon for lunch. This seems to be a newly renovated local spot that offers southern comfort food. The prices are reasonable for lunch. My parents ordered a full chicken fried steak to share and I had the cheeseburger plate. The breading did not stick to the steak well but had a decent flavor. My burger was unseasoned and came with mustard, although the waitress put it in for mayo. I confirmed the burger came with dill pickles and ordered extra on the side. Unfortunately, the recipe was recently changed to include bread and butter pickles. Our waitress explained the "line" still offered dill pickles and I just swapped them out. Our service was great and our waitress never stopped moving to serve her section. She answered our questions and was polite, even while I complained about the pickles on my burger. read more

She let me be for a couple of minutes and asked what I'd like to order. I chose the Meat Lover's Omelette, toast, and grits. I could have chosen a biscuit instead of toast and hash browns instead of grits. My breakfast was brought to me within 10 minutes along with some butter for my toast and grits. An assortment of fruit jellies was already on the table along with half & half, sugar for coffee, some pink and blue artificial sweetener packets, and salt & pepper. We went at around 2pm 12.22.24. Not crowded at all. We seated ourselves in front of the buffet line. Ordered a hamburger only pickles and must & a chicken sandwich only mayo. Received our drinks & waited for our food. A couple came in & sat behind me. After about 25 min, that couple got their food, I commented to my husband that we ordered before them. In a moment, the man said, "This isn't my order, this burger only has mustard & pickles on it." The lady then repeated their order. The server was very nice and the food was very good and hot. The chicken fried steak did not have ONE piece of gristle. Being born and raised in Texas I have eaten many in my 65 years, and even the nicer places in Austin have gristle in the chicken fried steak. I ate every bite!
