    Quarter pounder with fries
    Clint M.

More than just a burger joint. The burgers are great though! Almost got the special today, chicken fried steak and two sides. Instead got the quarter pounder with fries, both my wife and I. It was great. You come in, order, seat yourself or use the drive through or pull up to the outdoor eat in car kiosk and they will bring your food out to you. There is also outdoor seating if you want to eat outside.

First visit to this location. Both ordered double cheeseburgers with grilled onions and shared a large French fry and unsweetened iced tea. The burgers were made fresh but very little grilled onions. Would have liked more grilled onions. Surprised at how thin the meat patties are but I understand it's their signature. The hand cut fries were very tasty - nicely cooked and seasoned with plenty of ketchup provided. Unsweetened tea seemed fresh rather than from a soda gun so nice flavor. Food is brought out to your stall where you can stay and eat but packaged to go. Server was pleasant. Recommend.

Visiting Storms Drive-In is like stepping back in time. Old school drive in and the indoor seating appears to have been frozen in time. Clearly, the burgers here have stood the test of time and it's easy to see why. Delicious, fast food burgers and lovely, flavorful fries and onion rings. A delicious option apart from the usual fast food chain.

The person who makes the fries needs a new job. The fries are stiff as a board. Unsafe for toddlers to eat as they are a choking hazard. Not fresh at all. Potatoes taste old.

Ordered a quarter pound cheese burger with jalapeños, fries, and a small chocolate malt. The malt was generously-sized for a "small" and very tasty, The fries were crunchy but good. The burger was overcooked but the veggies and fixings were awesome... just an old fashioned griddle-fried mustard burger, basically. I noticed that service was slow but not tragically so. The dining room was clean. On a motorcycle trip, I originally wanted to eat at the Storm's in Lampasas but it had no dining room.

Excellent burger! You gotta stop at Storm's if you are ever passing through Burnet or Lampassas! The best burger, fries, & shake. Absolutely DELICIOUS!! We tried the 3 patty burger (Storm's Special). It was extra mesty! If you are extremely hingry this is the burger for you. I will stick w/ a double w/ cheese next time so im not so full. You want to keep eating! We went back on the way home for fried pies! I will be back! YUMMO!!!!

Lunch today at The Dam Grill was especially memorable and satisfying…read more It began with an experience that speaks to the true greatness of America. An elderly, mobility challenged couple parked at the front of the restaurant. The wait staff rushed out and assisted them to a table. Don and Barbara are regulars...I talked to them a bit on my way out. The care I saw happen there talks about the heart of America. It's not the politicians that make this country great...It's the people! It's service like this, that goes above and beyond. It's small, neighborly businesses where the customers become family. It's GOOD people that make this country great. ...And good food only makes it that much better! My meal choice for today was the large Chicken Fried Steak, with green beans, mashed potatoes, cream gravy, roll and sweet tea...your quintessential, thoroughly satisfying, Texas style comfort food. The steak portion was BIG! Big enough that I have AT LEAST one more fine meal coming from the leftovers. The mashed potatoes were smooth, drenched in a generous portion of delightful cream gravy. The DG style green beans are unique and were delicious. The roll was fresh and melt in your mouth good. As for the sweet tea... Well... Let's just say that it was just right! The smoke free restaurant is clean and spacious with plenty of seating. The friendly wait staff stays on the move attending to customer's cups of tea, coffee and sodas. The kitchen gets meals out quickly. The table bussers are meticulous and quiet. Outside, the parking lot has plenty of handicapped access spaces and free general parking galore...with lot's of room for rancher's truck's and trailers. I only have one complaint. In my book, breakfasts like theirs should be available all day long. LOL. Dang good stuff! Friday night is all you can eat catfish. When I want catfish, this is my goto. The fish is tender, succulent fillets and the beans and hush puppies are to die for. If You want a truly satisfying meal at a price that won't break your wallet, the The Dam Grill is right where you need to be. Just sayin'.

Hooper's is one of the most unique restaurant experiences I've ever had!…read more It's inside the restored Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) house from the movie, and walking up to it feels so unreal. Once you're inside, you can explore a lot of the house and it blew me away how much you're able to walk around and see. There's art everywhere, tons of movie memorabilia, and it kinda feels like a Texas Chainsaw museum that just happens to serve food, which is pretty awesome. The theme isn't subtle either (in the best way). One area had a bar with a severed head behind it! There are so many little details, displays and photo moments that other horror fans are going to be obsessed with too! Even the menu is fun, with stuff like the Chicken Slaughter sandwich and the Hitchhiker's grilled chicken. I know it's cheesy, but I love it, especially when the whole place is packed with memorabilia. Food was pretty good too. The experience is definitely the main event, but the food held its own as a bar and grill, and mixing that with how cool the place is made it feel like a full stop, not just a novelty visit. Service was fine but not super standout. There were only a couple staff members actively helping people while others were cleaning up, and everyone was nice enough, just not really "above and beyond." Our food also took a while for a burger and a turkey sandwich, but honestly those are my only real complaints, and I'm only even mentioning it because I'm also here to talk about the food. It was great regardless of the wait. Upstairs has a few more Leatherface items plus some gory/spooky decor, and there's a cool little location map where you can stick a pin in to indicate how far you've visited from! They also have a creepy skin looking guest book to sign, which is such a perfect touch. One real warning though: it's an old house. In Texas, Prepare for the heat, and I mean that seriously. If you want to explore outside too, come ready. I had a UV-blocking umbrella and a face mister and I was still feeling it. Sunglasses for the grounds are a must too. Also, there's a kitty living on the porch named Tuxie, and he's a precious little buddy who loves attention. Make sure you say hi. If you're a horror movie fan or you just love weird, memorable places you'll be talking about after, this one is absolutely worth it.

They have fun decor, movie, posters, and other related memorabilia up throughout the restaurant. A group of 10 of us ate here tonight in the room where the notorious dinner scene was filmed. Most of my pictures are of the place, but the food and drinks were satisfying too. They offer standard American fare and our waitress did a great job juggling our orders all while being efficient and kind. I made a reservation online easily which is recommended because they can get busy, especially on a Saturday. I tried their artichoke dip which was decadent and served with chips. I got so full from that that I just had a stuffed baked potato as my main course which was really good too. Their beers were reasonably priced even for drafts. They also have fun specialty cocktails aptly themed to the history of the restaurant. We're planning to go back another time for brunch and to enjoy the town of Kingsland a little more. We were treated to a gorgeous Sunset on our visit but left before we lost too much light given we all drove from San Antonio and didn't want to be on the smaller hill country roads too late at night. We passed a few deer so you do want to keep an eye out for the local animals on the way there and back if you're coming from a different city.

Back then, my husband was not happy, you could not order coffee at the table, you had to go to the other side and get coffee and then bring to to the table if you wanted breakfast. Well, a LOT has changed with this place since then. #1...they will bring you what ever coffee you want to order, and they will pick up from next door and bring it to you (husband was happy about that). #2, they now serve lunch and dinner (*we didn't try that yet, but will be back to try that later). Now, Rebecca our server was so nice! She put up with my husband's "shanigans", as he always tries to joke about with everyone! He was hungry, so got the "Big Ol' Breakfast", which had your eggs, half a ham steak, sausage, bacon (Oh, sooo good) breakfast potatoes (could have been just a little more "crisped up), and pancakes!! He cleaned his plate!! LOL! I had (and did not realize until I read my last review, I had "half" of same I ordered before), the Benedict Sampler (where you can choose TWO of benedicts). I got the "Southwest Steak" (*which is what I had last time..LOL), ohhh soo good! If you like "Spicy"...get this...the green chiles and cilantro-lime sauce make this dish! Then, the other one was the "Golden State" with tomato, bacon and avocado (*and little spice too with Siracha sauce on top), and also had the very good breakfast potatoes! Rebecca checked on us often, and we were both glad we came back to this place! We will be back again!

The good news is there are several places that have waitlists and there are even some places that take reservations so if you're planning includes a time that's likely to attract a lot of diners. I would suggest that would be the way to decide your destination. We did in fact, use the waitlist Sunday at Perky Beans. It allowed us to see how many parties were in front of us and advised that we would be texted when our table was ready. We waited about a half hour in our vehicle until we were texted and then headed in and we were seated immediately. Junny was our server. She seated us and gave us menus. I ordered a Hazelnut Coffee and a Virgin Mary(bloody Mary without the alcohol). My granddaughter ordered Water. We took a few minutes looking over the menus. There were quite a few options. Lots of tempting items, but it's hard for me to turn down biscuits and gravy since I love homemade biscuits and unfortunately mine don't turn out-2 eggs and home fried potatoes accompanied that. My granddaughter ordered the " sample the Eggs Benedict," which offered her the option of choosing two half Benedicts offered-which is a great way to determine your preference. She also opted for the home fried potatoes. Right about then Junny went and got my Virgin Mary, which they had really done up nicely! It was every bit as pretty as the alcoholic version with a nice crisp celery, stick, and a Gerkin pickle, Green olive and fresh Orange section. It was very tasty. We waited about 40 minutes for our food. It was very busy and I think it's difficult to manage the coffee side of the café along with the dining room side especially on a very busy Sunday. (That is why I deducted one star from our rating.) It did appear that they had adequate service staff, of course we couldn't observe the kitchen area so not sure how many cooks. We did enjoy the restaurant as a whole and we do plan to return to order some of the other delicious offerings on the menu. Fantastic to have a great brunch option right in Leander!!!
