Our waitress was Amanda and she was pleasant and helpful. She often returned to our table and wanted to know if we needed anything. The restaurant had a full bar and offered all varieties of liquor. We also saw an enclosed patio and courtyard with a bar and tables. Partially on green grass. A place was there for live music. My wife and I both ordered chicken fried steak with two big orders of French fries. This was for lunch and the orders of fries were large. The food arrived hot. We were given home made dinner rolls. The soft drinks that we got had free refills. The food arrived quickly. The bathroom was clean. The parking lot was large and it filled up by 12:30 PM. It seems that everyone wants to eat there and this was a Monday. We liked this meal. The price was reasonable and we will return, the next time we are in town. read more

Arrived at 12. They opened at 11 and were out of onion rings. Ordered a simple cheeseburger with grilled onions. Guess what I did not get? Hamburger patty was cooked beyond well. Our waitress was more concerned if she charged me. No offer to bring the grilled onions. Mac and cheese was my side and I had never had COLD Mac and cheese before. They did not bother to heat. Hubby had a horrible looking grilled chicken sandwich with the creamed corn. Also cold and def not tasty. I made a poor choice based on reviews. Do NOT STOP HERE BECAUSE ITS CONVENIENT. Great little small town cafe. Was craving some pies after dinner and this did the job. They had multiple pies but we went with blueberry and whiskey pecan. We ordered for take out and they were very welcoming and kind in taking our order, giving us silverware and napkins. The pecan pie was great. Not overly sweet but just right. The blueberry did not taste like out of a can. Crust was great and not too doughy. They also made it warm so it was so good eating it fresh and hot. Nice local spot if you're in the area! read more

I loved this place! Old school, casual, and friendly. This is what a local diner is supposed to be. The food was great, all the staff were friendly, and I loved the whole vibe of the place. I was on my way to go camping when I got hungry. I found this random place in Burnet Tx and was excited to eat there. When I walked in a was greeted and walked to my seat. There, I had a very sweet waitress come and say hello. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with French fries. The only problem with that is the French fries were not as crispy as I wanted. It wasn't the most clean bathroom, but it was working correctly. Overall this place is reaching the limits of a classic American restaurant. read more

First off, our server, KK, was the best. She was personable, attentive, and helpful with our order from start to finish. She even helped get my lunch partner a right sized meal by suggesting the smaller order of chicken tenders. I had the pulled pork sandwich special of the day with onion rings. The pork was tender and flavorful. The onion rings had a light crispy batter and were the perfect sized onions, not too thick and not too thin. The atmosphere reminded me of the mom&pop restaurants that were plentiful when I was a kid growing up in the 1970's. It gave a hometown feel to us hungry travelers. read more

The best home cooked meal we have had in a long time! Service was great and ambiance is relaxing! The fried pork chop was perfection! The texture was unreal. Even though it was fried, it was so light and tasty! The creamed corn and okra were also delicious! The Cobb salad was fresh and filling. They also have a few alcoholic drinks on their menu. We ate here once before a couple of years back and returned because of the great food we had then. Boy, things have changed! The prices are still OK, but the food was generally bland. The Chicken Tenders had no seasoning, so dipping them in the cream gravy was a prerequisite. The fried okra also had no seasoning. Our server Amanda was very fast, friendly, and efficient, which is a good thing because she was the best thing here. REALLY disappointing! read more

Mama's has absolutely amazing food! Everything we ate was delicious. We got the fried pickles as an appetizer to split and they were great. Served with a large side of yummy ranch and the breading was perfectly crispy. I got the pulled pork special and creamed corn as a side. Both were great. The rest of my group got a french dip with onion rings and a patty melt with coleslaw. Neither of them had complaints. The onion rings weren't anything special, just typical thick breaded rings. Other sides were better. only thing to note- service was very slow and our waitress kept getting side tracked with other tables. They are looking to hire according to the sign outside, but it still did take awhile to get our waters refilled, place our order, and get our check. would definitely recommend stopping in! read more

The chicken tenders are the best I've ever had. They are huge and juicy! I used to always get the honey mustard for dipping, but I think they changed the recipe in the past 6-9 months. It used to have a bite of horseradish but now it is meh. Anyway, their Italian green beans are also amazing. They are cooked with bacon! Yes, bacon! Yay!!!! . Tried "Mama's" based on locals' suggestions. Plenty unshaded off-street parking. Menu is regional "country cooking". Basic fare. Our chicken-fried steaks were tough, with too much batter, but very typical for region. The side-dish veggies were very good. Served with fresh sweet rolls and plenty butter. Fantastic service!! I wish I would've gotten our server's name, but he was one of the few dude servers. Anyways, he was very attentive to our group!! We had just finished the Spartan Beast 10K Obstacle Race and one of our team members was having difficulties with his blood sugar, so we asked for "emergency bread" at least twice. Both times, our server quickly brought it to us along with anything else we needed. We had a group of 8 people and we definitely weren't easy to deal with but I commend the server highly for handling all of us with such grace and care! We truly appreciated it!! read more

Fantastic food and wonderful people. When I first walked in they were friendly but a little reserved. Once they saw I was respectful they warmed up quickly and by the time I left I felt like family. They had a regular baked…read moreturkey- plus a fried turkey (that was my favorite). #2 on my list was their sweet potato casserole with a pecan butter topping. #3 their smoked ham. Great service. Excellent food. Lots of yummy desserts. Loved their pecan pie. Fun place to enjoy a Thanksgiving Day meal.
