We were cruising through on I-40 and discovered this resting place for our RV after a 660 mile day. When we woke up, we were yearning for a good breakfast. Enter Ranch Hiuse Cafe! Wonderful food. Hubby had the basic sausage and eggs with "those potatoes", with biscuits and gravy. I opted for the ham and cheese omelette with the same sides. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the omelette was thinly cooked and tasted so delicious! The customer service is friendly and polite. Well OK the food is decent. That's the positive. But was not at all impressed with the brainless waitress. Had to stand around at the entrance maybe 5 minutes until she finally came around to get me a table. I noticed this seemed to be normal for her. She never came by on her own to refill my coffee. Finally I had to get her attention to ask her. Some time goes by until she finally goes to the back to grab the pot. Refilled everyone else and just walked right on by me. A little while later as she walks by again I ask. Goes to get the pot and while refilling there's no acknowledgement, as if she unaware of the situation. In the meantime a couple come in waiting and waiting until they get seated. She gives the both of them only 1 menu and doesn't bother to ask what they want to drink. Some time goes by and finally comes by to take their order and they ask for their drinks. They are sitting there and sitting there with no sign of this dolt getting their drinks ready. Finally another waitress comes to work. She seemed to be much more attentive as she was behind the counter and glanced their direction and saw no drinks. So she asked the original waitress who told her and the 2nd one got them their drinks. I shouldn't have tipped her but stupidly I did! Oh and by the way Mr. Or Mrs mayor. Don't be such a lazy you know what and park elsewhere if you have to. You really have to have your own special parking spot right next to the door? Small ma and pa place in Ash For where I stopped for breakfast. I like hash browns that are crisped and have a texture and crunch, while theirs is more of the mushy variety. The service was friendly. read more

In a small town just off Interstate 40 in Northern Arizona (Ashfork) sits a small eatery, with good grub and SUPER friendly staff. We had breakfast there on Friday, June 10th. The hubby had the chorizo & eggs - with hash browns, very good & not greasy. I had pancakes & eggs - tasty fluffy pancakes! Apparently they recently had a cable-TV makeover and the outside does not divulge the inside decor; quite comfy & still rustic. We would definitely recommend it! read more

My family does I were leaving Vegas for the Grand Canyon and decided to look for a brunch spot on the way. Settled on the Ranch House Cafe and what a pleasant surprise!!! To be fair, approaching the cafe is a modest exterior so our group of weary travelers grew nervous. Once inside, we were seated immediately and perused a solid breakfast/lunch menu. We all had different offerings but the burgers were well above average and the breakfast fare (including the 'garbage' omelette) was top notch. We found this sweet little cafe on a drive up from Prescott. We were wanting to drive The Mother Road from here on into Seligman. No much happening in this little town so we were happy to find this place. We ordered up BLT's and cheese omelets and they were all good tasting, All-American dishes. Stopped off at this place on our way back home to California from New Mexico. After being on the road for 4 hours we were famished and wanted a good breakfast. We found this little cafe and decided to check it out. From the outside it looks very small! Once you get inside it's not much bigger but what it lacks in size it makes up for in charm with all the funny little quote signs on the walls and the interior decor. I ordered the chorizo with egg and the house special "those potatoes", which is potatoes with onions and peppers. The plate also came with a large flour tortilla. The food was delicious. The chorizo was not greasy at all and the portion was just right. The coffee tasted fresh and our waitress came by several times to ask if we needed refills. She was very nice and provided great service. I was very pleasantly surprised by this little cafe. It has single stall restrooms and the restroom was also tiny but cute. My boyfriend who is 6'1" laughed because he said the sink came to his knees. Haha! Overall I would recomend this place if you are on the I-40 and looking for a place right off the highway to grab a good bite to eat before heading back on the road. read more

I stopped at Ash Fork because I like the name. Dinner was another hamburger; not too bad. Arizona has huge desert landscapes with hills like a wonky blanket, crazy rock formations and even forests. Nearby WIlliams is beautiful, but set up for tourists. We make it to the Grand Canyon just in time for sunset. read more

Howard and the guys stop here for breakfast every time they come to Ash Fork to Edgar's property. It is adorable. Howard had the Southwest Turkey Melt. It was great. I had the green chili and. Zucchini. They green chili is so tasty I could have eaten a bowl of it. The zucchini was very good too. If you are in the area or passing this way, do not hesitate to stop. Stopped here to eat after the Grand Canyon, ordered the hamburger steak, chicken fried steak, green chili, and turkey melt...it was all DELICIOUS!!! Had a taste of happy home cooking...the staff there were very friendly and extremely attentive to our needs...always checked on our coffee and water. Very homey feeling!!! Would definitely recommend and it's not far off the freeway so we were able to hop right back on. read more

I've been local for almost a year now, and have stopped into the Ranch House a few times. Came in this morning and they must have a new short order cook because my "custom order" came out perfect! I tend to be a little picky with my orders. I ask for light cheese on my omelet, light oil, etc. just to be a little more on the healthy side. Like many other reviewers, we stopped on our way through the area. I love little hole in the wall, family owned restaurants, and this one delivered. Hubby had the turkey melt, and I had the roast beef green chili melt - mine was a house specialty. We each had a salad, and I ordered a side of fries to share. The salad was nothing to write home about, just a little iceberg jobby. The sandwiches and fries, however, were fantastic. The melts were fried to perfection, not at all soggy, and mine included a health dose of carmelised red onions. I'm glad I also ordered fries, as just the sandwiches and salads may not have filled us up. They were hefty, not as big as steak fries, and so crispy good. Sadly, we were not able to finish them because we were filled up about halfway through. Oh, and super nice staff - great little place. read more

Not impressed, the food was bleh and the service was terrible. My husband and I both ordered the frisco burger. It was a thin premade frozen patty. The lettuce was wilted and the only reason it didn't taste horrible was because of the sauce. The frys were very over cooked and didn't have flavor. The iced tea was good but the waitress checked on us once, and was soo busy on her phone and eating at the counter that we couldn't get her to realize we wanted our check till we were about to walk up to the counter. Stopped off on the way to Flagstaff, it's one of those middle-of-nowhere cafes that wouldn't get a second glance anywhere else. That said, the food was delicious, the service was super friendly and the break from driving was welcome. Special is green chili (made with green chile peppers and shredded pork), definitely get it if you stop in. The place doubles as a small general store with cigarettes and small items on sale. The walls are decorated with snarky signs like "If ignorance is bliss, why aren't more people happy?" (my fave). If you're looking for a place to stop midway between Las Vegas and Flagstaff, Ranch House Cafe is a pretty good bet. ps odd as they may sound, the Santa Fe egg rolls are quite excellent. fries are also pretty good as well read more

We stopped here on our way through town. Bradley was our server and he sure took great care of us. There were six of us and we all had burgers. I recommend the green chili cheeseburger, it was tasty. They even made a burger patty with no salt for our hungry puppy. All of this while the place was packed for an all year high school reunion celebration. Disappointing! Yelp, you did me wrong. We walked in on a 30° day and it felt like it was only about 10° warmer inside.. to top it off they had the ceiling fans on... really!? So you'd think the food would come out piping hot, right? Nope! The cheese on my Sharon's special wasn't even melted... what's the point!? My husband said his garbage omelette was good, but he'd never complain anyway. My Sharon's special had an orangey looking sauce, not green, and a couple chunks of pork and it wasn't very warm. My daughter had chorizo and eggs, she said it was pretty spicy buy tasty. Overall, I would not recommend this place unless your ok with mediocre, barely warm food in a freezing restaurant. read more
