We stayed in Williams on our way to the Grand Canyon. The Rodeo Steak house was across the parking lot so we decided to give it a try. It was around 6 pm on a Wednesday and there were only about 6 guest in the restaurant. We were seated immediately and our server, a very polite young man( first day as a server) took our drink orders. He came quickly with our drinks and took our order. We ordered potato skins for an appetizer, they were good, not great. A little bland but they were huge! My wife ordered the St Louis Ribs which were the special for the day. She said they were delicious. Our son ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. He ate every bite. Said it was real good. I ordered the 8 oz sirloin which was cooked perfect. I also had mashed potatoes and gravy which were delicious as well. The gravy had an awesome taste. The food was great, the young man ( and woman) who waited on us were great ( very attentive), the only drawback was it was a little pricey, but so close to the Grand Canyon I can see why. We had dinner at the Rodeo bar and restaurants. The appetizers looks appealing so we started off with the artichoke spinach dip which was really good. I also had their Arizona sunset tea cocktail, that wasn't half bad so only had one then switched to Arnold Palmers. For dinner my fiancé had the blackened chicken salad which they took literally cause he mentioned it was super dry. I had their Arizona salmon with wild rice and Seasonal veggies (greenbeans) My salmon was good but also VERY dry so the bartender brought me out some of their bourbon glaze. Not that glaze was amazing and definitely help add life to My fish. We may go back for drinks cause Cass the bartender was amazing but probably not eat there again. read more

We went to this restaurant after a long day in the Grand Canyon. I had the salt and pepper rib eye. It was cooked medium rare and really flavorful. My wife and I recently spent the weekend in Williams, and were located quite near this restaurant (and not much else). Our first night we headed in, and I ordered a local beer while my wife ordered a chard, while we perused the menu. Ok - not a killer, but a heads up - it's a crime to serve warm beer - truly! And my wife HATED the chard - luckily, they had an alternative on the menu, so she was placated. She ordered the french onion soup, while I decided to order the 1/2 rack of baby back ribs. We were served quickly, and she found the soup absolutely the best french onion soup she's ever had - while I ordered a half rack, I received enough to feed a large family. They were VERY good, but I could only eat half of them. The cole slaw that came with it was excellent. The following evening, we planned to have a drink at the Rodeo, then walk into town - but this morphed into a second dinner there. This time, she ordered the fried chicken, and I ordered the fish and chips (both pictured). Both, once again, were huge servings, and neither of us could finish - but both were VERY tasty. So be aware that the beer is on the warmer side, and the servings are VERY American sized, but that the food is most excellent. The one star ding? Both nights, after our meal was served, our waitress simply vanished. Trying to get the bill, then get her to come back to run the credit card, was over the top long. It was very quiet for a Saturday night between 6 and 7 pm. The waitress was young and probably new. Didn't carry napkins or straws with her, but she was very sweet. We both got a salad. It was pretty good but not enough dressing and actually way to much chicken. Ended up having to leave chicken in bowl because there was so much. Food & Service: Their all-you-can-eat catfish for $18.99 was truly catfishing, aka bait-and-switch with no apology or effort to make things right. Their excuse was that 30 minutes after they started service, they had unexpectedly run out of catfish. Several guests were surprised by the announcement. It should have been a sign that the first serving only included 6 pieces and took 30 minutes. Upon calling a manager (another 15 minutes), I was offered a substitution with cod. Not only it didn't taste as good but 2 slow servings later, the manager didn't come back to check on us or apologize for the slow service. The staff wasn't much help either, being clueless about how to process the hotel guest discount. Ambiance: the restaurant is separated from the bar which was nice as there dining area was quiet. However it seems that the modest Western-themed decorations were overshadowed by unrelated large modern military flags added to the walls. read more

We stopped in Williams to overnight before going to the Grand Canyon. This restaurant was right across the parking lot from our hotel and it was a steakhouse, so all good reasons to go. We were seated promptly and our server Bridget was delightful and friendly. Our party of four had a mix of orders. Two of us had a hearty prime rib meal. We traveled through Arizona this past week and were really hungry as we had been traveling all day and hadn't really eaten. The wife was really wanting a steak so we decided to see what Williams Az had to offer. Since we were on the I-40 it was convenient to pull off and check out the local restaurants. We found this wonderful steakhouse that is tucked away in a motel right on the old Route 66. Towards the end of town. I almost thought we were in the wrong spot. But nope. It's there. As we walked in I was really impressed with the way the place was set up. It's kind of a cross between a log cabin and a campground chow hall is what it reminded me of. They open at 4:30 and we arrived around 5 pm. So we were literally the first ones to be seated. The lady was very nice and promptly gave us menus. They have some really great choices of steaks and burgers, and sides. We decided we would both have a ribeye. I chose coleslaw and a baked potato with sour cream on it. They bring out some very tasty dinner rolls to either munch on or wait to eat with your dinner. Since there wasn't many people in the restaurant yet our food arrived fairly quickly and it looked amazing! That was one of the best ribeyes I have ever had. The meat was prepared properly and seasoned properly as well. Not over seasoned either. The sides were equally as amazing. I have traveled through Arizona many times over the years and can't believe I've never stopped here. I took some pictures so people can get an idea of the inside of the establishment. We visited Miss Kitty's for dinner our first night in Williams. I was a little confused as my map took me to the Red Roof Inn, but the restaurant is next to the lobby of the Inn. We arrived and were seated pretty quickly. They seemed very short staffed that day. The lady who sat us seemed overwhelmed and left us at the table and didn't bring our waters for about 10 minutes. Our orders were taken and we watched a tall man in a cowboy hat wander around and occasionally stop at a table to chat (but never stopped by ours). We assumed he was the owner and we found out after a visit at Twister's that cowboy hat man was the owner (and his son owns Twisters), but also the Mayor. Trying to get our check was nearly impossible, as our waitress was busy with other tables, so we had to flag down another server to help us. We ordered the Frontier cheeseburger w/ Mac & cheese, the Marshal burger, the Rib eye, the kids burger, and the shrimp salad. They forgot my salad dressing, and my son said his Mac and cheese tasted like supermarket Mac & cheese (aka the blue box), but other than that the food was pretty good. Food was pretty basic. Very much like everything but the proteins were precooked. I watched the chef spray both our Filets with non stick spray. This was a big clue of the food quality. Steak was ok not much flavor but also not a horrible cut. Mac n cheese lacked flavor. Mashed potato's and gravy tasted like kfc. Made from a powdered mix. Everything was just alright. We were happy to find Miss Kitty's at the Red Roof on a Monday in September. Many places are closed and mostly all we could find was pizza, tacos, and diners. Moss Kitty's was a neat place with a friendly staff. All entres came with a small salad, bread, amd 2 sides. We both got the bourbon sirloin. I got fries and mac and cheese. These are not hand cut fries, but they were decent. The mac and cheese needed a little salt but was homemade and yummy. The steak was cooked correctly, tender and sweet. Not a bad dinner at all! My husband steak was a little over done, more med-well than medium. The mashed potatoes were ok, but tastes like instant. The broccoli was delicious. Our daiquiri drinks were absolutely delicious. Great place for a meal in Williams! We stopped there on our way to the Grand Canyon and enjoyed delicious burgers and drinks at the bar. My cheddar bacon burger was delicious and the BBQ sauce on it was especially tasty. The onion rings I had with it were perfectly cooked-hot and crispy, and the onions didn't slide out of the crust when you bite into them. I didn't sample the steaks, but there were several locals in the bar where we sat enjoying them. We went back in for breakfast next day, and had perfectly cooked eggs and bacon with home fries. We were blown away with our experience at Miss Kitty's Steakhouse from start to finish. We were greeted by the owner and he was a wonderfully kind and welcoming man. Our waitress, Bridgette, was truly the sweetest, most attentive, and friendly soul we came across during our trip to Williams, AZ. She gave us the greatest dining experience of our trip. The food was so delicious and the portions were a great size. We finished our dinner and all were so pleased with our experience. I know next time we are in town we will be coming here to dine again if not once, a couple more times.
