Ran in to grab hubby some hot tea as he had a horrible cough while we were on the road. Walked in and the cashier (age 62 [I know cuz I heard her say, short red hair) was taking one lady's order in front of me. After three minutes of waiting I realized she wasn't ordering at all, they were just chatting. About doctors and prescriptions and medical issues. I waited two more minutes. Still chatting. I tried to make eye contact. Nope she totally ignored me. Two more minutes. Still chatting. So I walked out. So disappointing as we come here all the time and usually everyone is so welcoming and kind. Really bummed about this experience. read more

Fantastic from start to finish. Overflow Coffee is a quaint independent coffee shop in a cute town. My wife had an Irish mint latte (St. Paddie's special) and loved it. I had their cold brew coffee and it was great -- complex, robust flavor, and very smooth. Cold brew can be hit or miss and this was a big hit! They offer coffee, espresso drinks, tea, and chai lattes. The have alternative milks (soy, coconut, oat, and almond) for those who don't like milk. I saw a few baked goods and even some breakfast options. They even had Thrifty's ice cream! The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Within minutes, we were being invited to local Easter events for the kids, shared our travels, and received insider tips about fun places to stop on our drive. We gave this place a try based on the excellent other reviews. Unfortunately our experience wasn't so great. The staff seemed bothered that we were even there and ordering food. All the food was pre-packaged / store bought. It took 15 minutes for them to warm up 2 frozen breakfast sandwiches in the microwave and they were over heated causing the bread to be hard. The coffee was decent, but nothing to write home about. read more

While always on the lookout for a good coffee place, I think this one definitely fits the bill. It was a little difficult to spot from the road, so keep an eye out for their folded sign they place near the parking lot entrance during their open hours. They've got a modified set of hours from what's posted on their site (M - F, 6:30 am - 5 pm, Sat., 7 am - 3 pm at the time of this review). I entered about 20 minutes to closing on a Friday and ordered three drinks: a peppermint mocha, eggnog latte, and a regular latte. When we were told the amount due we told her that she must have missed a drink. She smiled and said that their medium drinks were only $2 during "happy hour." That was a pleasant surprise, so we ordered 3 chocolate chip cookies to celebrate. We got our drinks with 10 minutes left till closing and asked if it was alright if we stayed to enjoy the coffees. The gal was friendly and told us absolutely, so long as we didn't mind her sweeping the floors. The drinks were excellent and my eggnog latte was a good "apples to apples" comparison to Starbucks, and this place made theirs better! read more

After moving to Chino Valley, almost 2 yrs ago, I finally decided to try this local coffee/cafe shop. The few times I stopped in it just felt "cold", in the sense that nobody cares if you're there or not. The drinks are delicious, but the deadpan personality behind the counter is a put off. I refuse to give my money to the Seattle based competitor in town or the other brand up the road, so the local business wins - just because they're local. read more

We love finding new coffee shops. We love it even better when they are a treasure! As we first walked into Overflow, we noticed that it's not dark like many coffee shops, but well lit and nicely lit. There were lots of sitting areas that felt very welcoming. We ordered a few drinks that weren't on the menu and the friendly barista said, "Certainly, we can do that." This was music to our ears. The coffee was very good and exactly what we ordered. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will be back for sure. Thanks! read more

My husband and I went to Overflow Coffee earlier tonight for the first time and we both enjoyed it very much. I am a big coffee drinker, so much that I make it at home a lot because we feel we don't get a good flavor when we go to most of these coffee shops. We travel the tri-cities quite a bit and so far we think Overflow Coffee is the best out of Prescott and Prescott Valley. Usually we get our coffee to go but tonight was different we decided to sit and enjoy there very relaxing. read more
