The place is filthy from the time you open the grimy door to the stained ceiling tiles to the air vents crusted with years of greasy dust. Even the large salt container staff uses to refill salt shakers is gray with grime. The service was good with frequent coffee refills. Food was ok. I ordered fried eggs, hash browns, sausage patty and wheat toast. Everything was hot when delivered to the table. The eggs were limp and squished together in a sad lump. We went in for breakfast a couple Sunday's ago. First clue was when the young girl asked us what we wanted to drink and we told her, she came back with my husband's drink and coffee but not mine. She said she would be back with my coffee, but never showed up. Finally 10 minutes later an older woman came and asked for coffee and water again. I'm totally not a fan of the coffee cups hanging on the wall of each table. My thoughts turned to kids touching and playing with the cups and then the next guest gets a snotty dirty cup. The food was not great and it was just breakfast food, like the easiest food to prepare. We are locals and only been here 6 months, but we will go elsewhere. It's been awhile but just love this place out in a field. The staff are professional courteous and quick on their feet. Very Aloha or country friendly. We had the big breakfast and their daily special eggs Benedict. Eggs Benedict. Perfectly cooked eggs the Hollandaise sauce was good the slices of ham were tasty and just perfect. It rested on top English muffins and with a side of properly done hash browns. Ok I wish the hash browns were fried in butter! But they were great. The big breakfast came with two perfectly cooked eggs hash browns two pieces of bacon and a sausage patty. Your choice of meat including ham. And for the side we had biscuits and gravy or SOS. It was tasty and good the biscuit was great. Not a lot of sausage in the gravy sauce but again with the other meat not bad at all. Definitely will return and recommend this place. It gets busy though and they had a group of 16 while there but the service was on point and food came out quickly. read more

I went today, and that same fat waitress was came out of nowhere and started accusing me of yelling and scream at her the last time I was in. I kindly informed her that her recollection was incorrect but I also wasn't interested in engaging in an argument with the lunatic, as I was just trying to sit down with my young son, and enjoy breakfast. She was insistent with arguing with me and accusing me of some very horrible things. So I very politely told my son we were going elsewhere, because at no point I. Your life, should you ever allow yourself to be attacked for no reason, especially in such an unprofessional and unprovoked manner. Friendly greeting and service (and we aren't locals) and the menu food are spot on! I love their chili cheese omelette, the crispy hash browns I took a one meal break/cheat from KETO & IF and this unhealthy splurge was worth it to reset (thanks to dirty KETO & IF I have lost 80 pounds in 7 mouths) now bank to the delicious food, meal my partner had the chicken fried steak with eggs over medium and crispy hash browns, pancakes and I can attest that everything was cooked and prepared perfectly delicious! My order also came with the moistest fluffiest, not dry biscuits smothered in delicious sausage gravy! The coffee was good and hot. On the table they had Tapatio, Cholula and 2 different by flavors of Tabasco, another thumbs up in my book. We found this place to be a delightful experience of great value and will revisit when in this beautiful area. Only BUMMER is that it looks like they use styrofoam for togo and takeaway orders/leftovers. I wish they would make the switch to paper, cardboard or anything recyclable or biodegradable. Finally decided to stop in after living here for 3 years to see if the food was any better than Gabby's Rustic Eats. My wife ordered a breaded chicken breast sandwich, and I had a Rubin sandwich. The Rubin was Ok but the chicken sandwich was made up of little chicken nuggets that you could have ordered from Mac Donalds. You would expect a diner like this would serve a chicken sandwich on par with at least Burger King or as good as Chick-fil-A. I gauge a restaurant off of the Claim Jumper but yet have not found anything that comes close here in the area. read more

We were so very sad to see the Gabbys Kitchen in PV close, as it was a favorite of ours. It's now a fish place, but we won't get into that. The Gabbys Kitchen in Chino Valley is amazing. It's further for us to drive to than the PV lo was, but we try to make it there as often as we can. It's worth the little extra drive. No matter what you order, you are going to love it. The food is amazing, the portions are really good size and the prices are very reasonable. The staff is perfect, professional and friendly. The soups are homemade. You want breakfast for lunch? Not a problem. You want a huge, yummy burger? A veggie burger? A club sandwich? A salad? It's all there on the menu and it's all delicious. Check it out and you are going to end up as a regular. I was there last year (sorry for the delayed review), and while my daughter and I loved our food (she had pancakes and eggs and I had corned beef hash), we felt slighted because we weren't local. We were driving thru Chino Valley/Prescott en route to California and we were starving and the Yelp reviews justified (and culinarily continue to justify) a stop there. Even though we are not locals, at least the waitress that served us should show appreciation that we chose Gabby's instead of other restaurants in the area. While it's nice to show appreciation to the ones who continue to patronize your establishment on a weekly basis, give us newbies some appreciation too so we can continue to stop by when we are in Chino Valley. read more

What happened to Gabby's in Chino Valley? Had a bad breakfast today, 4/30/23, 11:30 am or so. Place used to be crowded that time of day. Now I know why it wasn't today. My over-easy eggs were medium at best. The bacon had been cooked previously. Dry & too crispy. Hash browns burned on one side, barely cooked on the other. Gravy on biscuits was barely warm. For $14 with coffee & tip. Too much attention on the new Gabby's Rustic Eats? Sad. I've been going there for breakfast periodically since the original owner, who sang opera! Stopped for breakfast yesterday and it was a winner! The hardworking wait staff were friendly and genuinely nice. It was clear this is a local favorite as a table of homecoming week dressed high school kids were at a nearby table and they were a well behaved gropu (not that Gabby can take credit for that!!). Very busy spot. We had a hard time getting are name in because so many people were paying at once and then the waitress had to step away to clean tables and get back to her people. Once we did get are name in we did wait for about 15min. This place was worth the wait. Amazing service and the Carmel banana pancakes was delicious. This should be a regular item. Yummy! The food is good, the staff are nice, and the prices are okay. I've enjoyed several of their burgers, and almost all of the breakfast options. However, the A/C is barely on, and I've had to fend off flies all four times I've been there the past few weeks. Great service, good coffee, homestyle type restaurant, reasonable prices. Friendly wait staff. After reading some of the reviews, almost didn't go there. So glad we went - can't understand the bad reviews...some people just can't be satisfied I guess. It's a small town and we appreciate the friendly atmosphere. At first sight, you wouldn't think that this place is all that great. It looks like any other breakfast place on the side of the road. Man, was I wrong. The food here is insane! I ordered a corn beef hash breakfast and it was both great tasting and large in portion. It was everything I could want in a breakfast. Aside the food, the staff here is unbelievably nice. Our waitress was extremely helpful and easy to talk to. In fact our table had a few decent conversations with her every time she walked by. We have been a few times. The first time put a bad taste in my mouth for the place simply because the service from one lady was terrible! We had a larger group and they kept seating people in the places where they had room to sit us. Went again today and the same lady was there but not our server. She is very abrupt and non responsive.
