We have been a few times. The first time put a bad taste in my mouth for the place simply because the service from one lady was terrible! We had a larger group and they kept seating people in the places where they had room to sit us. Went again today and the same lady was there but not our server. She is very abrupt and non responsive. Always busy on Sunday mornings, as their breakfast meals are outstanding. Our coffee cups were well attended frequently; which I really appreciate. spent the night in chino valley at the days inn and on the way back to phoenix we were told by friends to try Gabby's for breakfast. Cant say anything bad about this place, it reminds me of a good old cafe with that homestyle feeling. staff was very nice and fun. I enjoyed a breakfast sandwich with biscuits and gravy that were very good. My family all enjoyed their food as well. I come here for a good, solid breakfast. Not for atmosphere or something unique foodwise. I read reviews that are not that great. So far all my meals here have been good. Service has been too. My coffee cup is kept filled. My order is cooked the way I request. I don't ask for more than that is this kind of place. Pretty simple. read more

I have eaten there for breakfast and lunch and both times it was expensive for bad food. My breakfast had potatoes so hard they could hardly be eaten and the rest of the food was hardly able to eat. My friend had hash browns that were burned. My bill was $30.00 for not good food. We should have gone to McDonalds!! This gem of a mom&pop breakfast cafe is one of those places where you go in and they know you by name and everyone there is happy to see you. Go in Monday-Saturday and it's quick friendly service, always have a fresh cup of coffee and our food is out in a matter of minutes (you think I'm kidding, but I'm not). We avoid on Sundays as there is a church next door and every table is jam packed all morning, another sign of a great place in my opinion. They have the world's BEST french toast...I have yet to be able to figure out what they do to it to make it so tasty, and I have yet to taste any french toast at any other restaurant that comes close. My second favorite is their waffles. Delicious eggs over easy/medium...nice crunchy bacon. We bring as many out of town guests here as we can so they can experience a little taste of our small town. Prices are reasonable (around $5-8 for a great breakfast) and you can almost always print a $2 off coupon from the valpak website. read more

Went with family 2 times now. The place is always busy but, in a town without a Dennys I guess you have to go somewhere. The menu is unspectacular, the service is below average, the location is tired, and the food has yet to really woo me. I think the place could use some updating and some new options. This restaurant has the worst food I have ever tasted thus far in this tri-town area. How can you mess up a chef salad? Uurgh, worst chef salad ever!!! The place is not clean. I will never set foot back into this place. On the chef salad was hardened swiss cheese that I could not chew and I had to keep it in my napkin. I've been 3/4 times now. Food is always great. Perfect Eggs Benedict & the staff is very friendly, attentive. My only complaint is the heat inside. One told me the A/C is VERY old and owner won't fix. Ceiling fans low only. I hope he/she reads this: SHAME ON YOU for letting customers be uncomfortable & WORSE, letting your staff suffer. I had been here for breakfast 3 yrs ago, and it wasn't bad. Today was totally different. We went in at approximately 8 AM, it was not crowded, and we were told to sit where we wanted. We were immediately greeted by a nice young lady who served us coffee. It all went downhill after that. We were then approached by a dirty looking, 300 lb. woman in shorts who took our order. While waiting for our food I noticed ketchup and coffee stains on the wall. It looked like it had been there for awhile. After a long wait we were served our breakfast. It was cold, obviously it had been sitting. I don't send food back, as I know what can be done to it, so I picked at it.The corned beef hash was not crisp, more like it was right from the can. Eggs were overlooked and cold. Biscuits and gravy were hard and cold. I should have gone to McDonalds. read more

Yuck! My husband and I just moved to Williamson Valley and decided to try some breakfast in Chino... Big Mistake! This place is gross, dirty, and smells like burnt coffee right when you walk in. Went twice two years apart because the first time was so bad I thought I'd give them a chance to get better before I come back in. It takes a long time to be seated and everyone seems to look past you not want to except that you're waiting. They seem to forget about me anytime I'm seated. It's hard to get them to bring you a drink and then forget about ever getting a refill. As far as breakfast foods which is all I've tried their half the plate was mediocre and half was lousy. Once I finish eating and still haven't gotten any kind of a refill on drinks I can't get my bill without going to the register and standing there and then nobody knows what to do to even find it. That seems to go back to the forgot about you sort of thing it's like they put me at a table that is not in anybody's area. I used to go with my grandmother and family to this restaurant when we go out and visit my grandmother usually on the holidays. We would go on Sunday after church and I would always get the same plate the chili cheese fries. I love the chili cheese fries even though it's chilly always upsets my stomach I still get them every single time. My omelette looked as though they took two slices of Kraft American cheese( you know the kind in a plastic wrapper that definitely is not cheese) the broccoli was still cold and the toast was certainly store bought "sourdough". Dirty coffee cups hanging from the walls, windows you can't see through from the dirt. It used to be a happening place with awesome food and wait staff. I think it stays because there isn't much else to pick from in Chino. Food is fair at best, good luck on getting a second cup of coffee. read more

Had breakfast there this morning. The corned beef hash was clearly from a tin. Nothing to jump up and down about. Then, get to pay and they add 50cents on because you pay by credit card!!!! Isn't that a convenience to the customer? At least out the sign on the door so I can walk away BEFORE I get the bill. Food was just OK. Not sure it's going to get me back in a hurry. Quite place and at least it doesn't smell like a greasy kitchen. When I hear a microwave alarm before almost each dish is served, it's disturbing that the "home style" cooking is not quite there. Glacial service, though friendly. Pastrami sandwich and burger were almost tasteless. My dad said his corned beef hash and eggs were tasty, though. So I can't recommend them for anything but breakfast. Either way, don't come here if you're in a hurry! read more
